I love Scandinavian design so everytime I'm near a BoConcept "home expression center" (spare me the hyperbole) I'm compelled to browse. You'll swallow hard and dig deep but this is (for the most part) well made solid wood furniture from Europe -- so no six week warranty IKEA-esque particle board nonsense is in the offing. Occasionally, things go on sale and floor samples can help bypass the eternity+ wait times for shipping. A very solid (wood) four stars. read more

Sally at BoConcept is amazing. She was so patient and creative! Not pushy at all and she REALLY listened to what I was saying AND paid attention to my own reaction to things. She spent two hours with me helping me make a decision and I felt like she sincerely cared about my choices. DONT SHOP HERE - go to Manhattan location. Terrible customer service beyond the sales person jack who seemed honest and had integrity - this franchise does not however have either - we purchased over $12k in furniture and had it rushed for another 2k and now they are saying they didn't charge us for $500 door which is clearly in the designs we were given and on the price we agreed too. Worst customer service as they had my father waiting around for 2 days for a door they never intended to deliver because of their own mistake and now they want to bully us into paying more. DONT SHOP HERE - they are a franchise and taking down the reputation of the company - make the trip to the city and shop at the corporate owned store that stands behind their product and has integrity. I live in a small space and I needed a small couch that could also serve as a fold out bed. I thought about a traditional sofa bed but decided to buy BoConcept's Sofa with Reclining and Sleep Function. It was more like a love seat - there is only room for two people to sit on it comfortably - but I really liked the look and functionality of it. At $1795 (plus a mandatory $200 delivery fee - you cannot pick up from BoConcept yourself), it was a more than I wanted to pay, especially for something that looked like it came from Ikea. But I figured it was worth the money, since BoConcept furniture claims to be high-end and well-constructed. So I bought the couch in April of 2011. Less than two years later, the mechanism that helps one side of the sofa bed unfold and turn into a bed broke. Not only was it no longer able to be slept on when unfolded, but even as a couch the surface was awkward to sit on. I went to BoConcept in person to talk with a salesperson, who arranged for a home visit to see if the couch could be fixed. I left work early and waited and waited for the repair person to come between 4 and 5 pm, as arranged. He never came. He didn't leave a message. He just didn't show up. I called and made a new appointment for the next Saturday morning. When the technician arrived, he looked at the couch and told me what I already knew - that it was broken. He made no offer or suggestion of how to fix it. He just said I should buy a new one. The original warranty was only for a year, so I'd be paying another two grand. When we called BoConcept to see if there was anything they could do to fix the couch, they said no, and that we should have bought the five year warranty in 2011 for another $200. He later called back and said corporate would offer us a 20% discount on a new couch, meaning I could pay $1500 (plus another $200 delivery fee and the $200 warranty) to replace a piece of furniture that was two years old. We said "No, thank you." So, if you're thinking of BoConcept Paramus, just keep driving another half mile and roll on in to Ikea. You'll pay a quarter of the price, and instead of being stood up by their "technician" and then being told it's your fault that your couch can't be replaced because you didn't pay $200 for the warranty, you can just buy another one. I was excited when I my sofa was delivered, but buying from BoConcept Paramus turned out to be one of the most disappointing shopping experiences of my life. read more

Please don't be fooled by ypur GPS. It will lead you to go further south that you should. And Rt 17 traffic on Saturday is just not the best for that kind of misleading direction. Also remember, Bergen county blue law: the store closes on Sunday but open later on Saturday. The store looks small from the front, but dont be fooled, it is the largest boconcept store that I've been to. They offer free home consultation design, which is a plus. Salespeople were friendly and knowledgeable of their products. When I am ready to write that big check, I'll be back. read more

Two sofas are BO, my two accent chairs are Marcel Wanders for DWR, the coffee&side tables are BO, my sweater rug is DWR, and I have two BO sideboards that are..1 near the door&1 in the dining room. We just purchased a kitchen table and 6 kitchen chairs. The manager, Jack, was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. He found us the perfect fabric for the kitchen chairs in terms of price, style, and durability. He pulled out several fabrics initially and really told us the pros and cons of each one. He was an absolute gentleman, and made us realize we were planning on buying too much furniture for the space we had- even creating a 3-D replica for us to visualize it. When remodeling my home, I bought all of my furniture from BoConcept due to how I fell in love with the modern aesthetic of their furniture. They told me I had to wait for a couple of months because every piece of furniture is made to order in Europe, so naturally I was unsure if I could wait that long. Regardless, I went ahead and placed my orders, hoping they would be worth the wait. When the furniture finally arrived, I was more than satisfied with my order as I was able to use them to make my home feel like a seven star hotel. We visited the store and placed an order. They clearly tell you that you have 5 days to cancel, and we did before the 5 days. Getting them to issue a credit to the credit card is impossible. In writing they say they'll do so and send a copy of the credit, weeks later and still nothing. We called and spoke to a representative at the store who promised a credit would follow. Still nothing. We've resorted to going to a dispute through the credit card company. DO NOT trust them. read more

Do not go to Paramus Bo concept. I bought a media unit with drawers which is over $2700 in beginning of Feb. The estimated delivery was end of February, and the furniture delivery schedule was delayed without telling me. And I did not know till I called them for checking the delivery status. Now I only have the wooden part now, and METAL LEGS ARE NOT DELIVERED YET. I talked to the store assistants more than 20 times and finally talked to the manager. The manager scheduled the delivery date for me but IT DID NOT HAPPEN without telling me again.. I emailed to Bo Concept customer service and explain all about this , but they reached to the Paramus store and I need to talk to them again.. I really do not understand this situation.. I think even Ikea does not do this unprofessional service with 100dollars furniture. My mom bought this furniture for my wedding gift, and she knows it is not set up yet for 6 month now... Good comfortable furniture. Made to last. Would have given 5 stars if the delivery was smoother, some slight attitude from the girl whom set up the delivery. Also note that you will be given a 5 day grace period to change your order if it is custom, beware that this may be a closing tactic. My wife wanted to change the leather color the very next day from the order date and we were told no the order is final! If BoConcept could smooth out delivery issues and adhere to promises made when closing it would get 5 stars. Product is great. read more

I absolutely loved my experience at Bo Concept Paramus. I came into the store with absolutely no idea what i wanted and how I would like to style my new home. I met one of the designers at the store, her name is Cheng, and she spent hours accommodating my indecisiveness and patiently accommodated my frustrations. She has a very good eye on what looks good and she will not recommend something that does not fit, just so she can make sale. After spending hours picking the right furniture, I decided not to go to any other store, because I got everything I needed at Bo Concept Paramus. I value great customer care a lot and would not be spending my money or time anywhere where the service is not to my standard. I cannot wait for my new furniture to arrive, so I can see Cheng's vision reflected in reality. Furthermore, I received multiple design advices after my purchase, which is very important to me. Bad experience with a bed purchase (Mezzo leather) at this store. Price was extremely high over $4K and the bed broke after just 6 months of normal use. The bed frame support structure failed and the center part sank down. Our previous bed from Ikea has had no problem after years of use. When we made the purchase the store manager promised to honor a return if we have a problem. But we have been requesting a refund with the store for more than a month to no avail, my follow up through BBB has also been ignored by the store. Now seeking escalation through NJ Consumer Affairs. Do NOT buy from BoConcept! We bought a bedroom set from BoConcept after 3 consultations with an in-house designer. When finally delivered 5 months later, the furniture was not what we were promised and was also poorly constructed. BoConcept refused to work with us so we filed a merchant dispute which took 4 months but we just won and were refunded the full purchase price. We asked BoConcept to pick up the faulty bedroom set. They only agreed to take back 4 of 7 pieces which they agree are defective. They refuse to take back the remaining 3 pieces and told us they will sue us for their cost. And they insisted on pick-up today after only giving us notice yesterday and told us they will go to the police if we do not let them pick-up a portion of the bedroom set today. BoConcept is a shady retailer! Do NOT buy from BoConcept! read more

First time ever in my life i spent more than 10G on sofa & dining table. My brother used to have the mezzo sofa on fabric and me and my wife just couldn't forget the comfy feeling it provided. But i went ahead with all white leather. The sales guy was smooth enough to add dining table on my shopping cart which i'm now glad i made that decision because it just looks awesome in my dining area. anyway this 5 star goes to the manager at this store "Peter." Lots of businesses you call and ask or request something you always get these mediocre answers where you just feel like you're not confident enough to trust what they say to you. But Peter, everytime i called(not too many times though) he had answers. He told me detailed explanations to all of my questions and all those answers he gave me turned out to be on target. Yes, it took two months from the purchase to delivery but this was an easy one! read more

We've been buying furniture for years from Bo Concept in Europe, so we were so excited to have a store relatively close by now. Although the furniture is fabulous, the Paramus store is not. We have spent a considerable sum of money, including buying a sofa and it was delivered damaged, which took months to sort out. After a lot of pushing we got a small voucher to spend at Bo Concept. I really wanted to get some pillows and throws to match my curtains, so looked online and then wanted to see them in the flesh to ensure a color match. I phoned an hour beforehand to specifically ask if the 3 items I'm interested in were in the store and was excited to find out they were. We bundled the family in the car and drove there only to discover that they did not have ANY of them in the store - and it was a 3 weeks order time. Sadly this store is completely incompetent, and has been many times over. Such a shame. read more
