1. Bed: The gaines comfort sleeper bed seems fine although I got the upgraded mattress (Queen Mattress Type × 1) but some guests still require a mattress topper. 2. Seat: the seat sags at the edge of both arm rests because the retractable bed does not expand out to the edges. I told Urban Natural about this and that the only solution i have found so far is to stuff a sheet into the gap where the sofa cushion is sagging as it meets the arm rest. 3. Service: fairly good response from Urban Natural but the moving team damaged two door frames when moving this sofa in and more than a month after alerting Urban Natural there is still no plan for compensation and repair. read more

I was excited to try this company because I am big into non toxic living and their values seem to be aligned. I bought four counter stools and when they arrived, one did not fit the space so I explored a return, which they said would have cost the same as the chair so I am not stuck with a fourth chair that i don't want or have anywhere to put. Further, two stools were delivered damaged. When I noticed the damage, they said there was nothing they could do about it because it was not reported within 48 hours of delivery and instead offered a minimal discount. However, this policy is not listed anywhere on the website. Ultimately I am very unhappy with my purchase and I don't think it's market to not allow returns for furniture. I was looking into buying a sideboard from this company too but will now be looking elsewhere after this experience. Beware! read more

I bought a small portable lamp for $272, but it wasn't the right color for me. Urban Natural Home kept $97(!) of my purchase price so they could put this unused lamp back in their storeroom. My mistake for not reading the return policy; I thought I was dealing with a merchant similar to Design Within Reach, Room & Board, West Elm, etc. I could (should) have purchased this item on DWR. I would have sent it back and gotten a full refund. It cost me almost $100 to try Urban Natural Home, and I have nothing to show for it. Never again. read more

I usually don't give poor reviews but I've lost my patience. I bought a rug online through Urban Natural Home. The rug arrived defective with white bleach marks. Customer service asked me send photos. Fine. Then customer service said, "This is so odd, never happened before," and asked me to re-wrap the rug and take it to Fedex. A bit of a hassle but okay. They said when they got the rug back, I'd be refunded. It's now been a week and they're giving me the run around. This adds to an already disappointing customer experience. Bought 2 beautiful pieces of Copeland Furniture (Vermont made) from UNH. The shipment was dropped off outside my home and not assembled as promised and paid for. I had talked with the delivery person who asked if it was to be assembled because he did not have time for that. I explained it was and that I lived alone and needed help and that I would meet them at the house. They did not wait as I saw the truck drive away as I came up the hill. Called UNH and Ship Rite (wrong) but no response. Urban Natural said it was out of their control and took no responsibility except to say the shipping company said I told them it was okay to leave outside!! Do you believe that? They told me that company would come back and put it together but not when. Frankly, I would never buy from this company, as they have no control except to take your payment. It was quite a fiasco. Managed to drag boxes into the garage and do myself. Urban Natural refunded $200 white glove feel, small compensation for the aggregation they caused. read more

Really disappointed with this place esp after all the good reviews online. They have a 100% price match guarantee and I had found another online retailer that was selling the same item I was looking for, but for $350 less. I reached out to Urban Natural and they said they need explicit written confirm that the price I'm seeing on the other site was what I would be paying. So I went through hours of back and forth with the other place to get the email confirming the price I would be paying and then sending that confirm to Urban only to have Urban tell me they can't honor it and I would have to pay the full amount listed on Urban's website. I asked why they couldn't tell me that sooner and they said they just didn't know??? You don't know your own business policy and vendors???? It's not as though I was being vague and said some random furniture piece. I clearly stated which item and brand I was looking at to begin with. Clearly Urban should NOT be putting "100% Price Match Guarantee. We promise to provide the best value, for quality furniture" on their business website then if they can't even follow through with it. What a waste of a day. I called Urban after to try to work out a deal and asked if they could include any complimentary items then to cover the price difference if they can't even honor it and they said no. Even other furniture stores would happily cater to their customers in order to work out a reasonable deal. Skip this place! read more

What a great furniture experience. Even though we spent over twice as much as we planned, it was more than worth every penny. Worked with Ali and ordered a custom dining room table and chairs from Copeland Furniture (a fine American company). It arrived sooner than expected. White glove delivery, which was included, by Oscar was on time and on target. We had to send one arm chair back because the seat was not aligned to my wife satisfaction. The adjustment was made promptly and accurately. Dave was also quite helpful seeing that we were more than satisfied. These folks are like a furniture store of thirty or forty years ago. They are really concerned about the customer, not trying to see how much made in Thailand or Vietnam furniture they can shove out the door in the next 24 hours. We will definitely go back and will recommend them to friends. They might be expensive but you get what you pay for. If I could give them 5-1/2 stars, I would. Thanks guys. read more

We purchased a double-bed-sized sleeper sofa, and we could not be happier. David S., our sales person, was very personable, knowledgeable, and patient, staying with us and explaining everything until we found just what we were seeking. The couch is a thing of beauty, with its silver feet and gray fabric, and the bed is more comfortable than any sleeper I have tested. Long over-due recommendation for Urban Natural. My wife and I bought our Berkeley Ergonomics Astor mattress and box-spring last November from Ali Qari at the Hanover store on Rt 10. I believe they've since "consolidated" to the Paramus location. We initially narrowed down our mattress choices to the Urban Natural mattress and a high-end mattress from Charles P Rogers. Both appeared to be high-quality mattresses and seemed similarly comfortable - although impossible to compare side-by-side, which is often just the nature of mattress shopping. We settled on the Rogers mattress, as it was, while not inexpensive, significantly less costly than then Berkeley Ergonomics mattress. (My wife and I both felt a bit of regret when we bought the CP Rogers mattress, since Ali was so helpful and easygoing). A it turned out, having some serious inflammation issues, I was never able to get a decent night's sleep on the Rogers mattress. I know it can take weeks to acclimate to a new mattress, but after nearly 3 months, I still slept poorly and woke up sore every morning,. We ultimately returned it and went back to Urban Natural. Ali was incredibly helpful, insightful, patient and just very easy to deal with. There was no sales pressure at all. He frankly seemed more interested in helping us find the right mattress than in selling us something, and dealing with him felt more like getting advice from a friend than a salesman. After a year, I can say the Berkeley Ergonomics mattress was a great choice, and the adjustability offered by the European sleep system slat foundation is terrific, allowing both my wife and I to individually "dial in" our preferred areas of support by adjusting the stiffness of the slat in different sections of the foundation. Need more or less support in your lumbar area? Simply increase the arch of the slats in that area. I honestly can't say enough good about Ali and the store - which has a nice selection of high-quality, clean, well-designed furnishings. Maybe not the right store if you're just looking for something inexpensive, but you ultimately get what you pay for, and in this case, both the furniture and owners/staff are worth every penny. read more
