First things first...THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!! I have lived in the Chatt area for about 4 years now, and I have never heard of this place until a good friend of mine recommended it. It is in a old warehouse, so it is difficult to see or even notice from the main road. But this small privately owned Italian restaurant is absolutely the best Italian food I have had yet in Chattanooga. The aesthetic is very romantic and intimate; the perfect place for a date night, or even a treat yourself night out with the girls. It is small, but has a very relaxing feel to the place. When I went with my friend it was mostly older couples dinning, so it was pretty quiet inside. However, I noticed that the feel of the place was very much of a relaxing vibe. The customers (is included) appeared to be in no rush and were there just enjoying the food and each other's company. It almost felt like a vacation sort of feel to it because everyone was just enjoying themselves. The waiting staff was very attentive and made sure that we never had to ask for refills or anything of that sort. I decided to go against my traditional tastebuds for Italian food and went with ordering a pasta dish that has curry in it. One wouldn't think it would be a good combination...but boy does this dish prove you wrong!! It was brilliantly balanced between a curry and an Italian taste. I LOVE IT. I can't say enough good things about this place, but just know, you need to try it at least once! Warning, it is on the pricey side...but it is worth it. :D read more

I'll give it to them-- their house-made pasta (specifically the ravioli and fettuccine) is super delicious. But we didn't just have pasta. Oh, and we barely had service. At least when our server was there, he was cordial. But those times were few and far between, like how I asked for an extra plate upon receiving our entrees and was already finished eating by the time he brought it! We were never offered bread, had to ask and wait for Parmesan cheese for our pasta, and consistently saw people waiting at the front entrance to be sat. It definitely appeared as though they didn't have their act together. My ravioli was great, my husband's chicken involtini was edible but far from inspiring. The chicken was a bit dry with a very one dimensional balsamic sauce. The fettuccine served alongside the chicken was really good, though. I would not recommend the chicken, but found the pastas to be quite tasty. All that being said, there are other places downtown with great pasta, like Alleia or Tony's Pasta, so this isn't joint isn't high on my "must return" list. read more

We hadn't been to Boccaccia in years and thought it would be fun to revisit it this weekend. Unfortunately it just was "meh" which isn't what you're going for when you spend over $100 on your dinner for 2. We didn't have a server come by for over 5 minutes after being seated. She took our drink order, and then we didn't see her again for another 5-10 minutes at least. We had to flag her down during our meal to request additional drinks. Service was just disappointing and distracted from our meal since we had to make such an effort to get refills. The Caesar salad was good. The complimentary bread was cold, sliced bread with no butter or oil. My meal was lackluster--I had linguine with shrimp, and we both agreed it wasn't very good. Definitely edible but I would never order it again. My husband's stuffed chicken with balsamic was very good, and we both enjoyed it. The fettuccine that came with it was ok. I ordered creme brûlée for dessert, and it was ok too. This is a cute restaurant, but I won't return. There are way too many truly great Italian restaurants in town to spend an evening at this one. read more

Intimate restaurant, quiet, good selection of beverages and good variety of Italian pastas and protein...absolutely delicious

A favorite of our ma when back in Chattanooga. The atmosphere and menu are about as authentic as it gets. The place is small which adds to the ambiance. Service is great and you often see the owners walking around. Rotating menu is great and food is great quality. read more

We've eaten here several times and never disappointed! They were so kind to host our daughters impromptu wedding reception very small, but they made it so very special!! They went above and beyond to ensure the end to their Wedding was very special! I highly recommend Boccaccia! Come on your birthday and they will celebrate with you by giving you a free entre, it must be on your actual birthday though! Now i need to go plan a night to eat there! SO GOOD! read more

If you want the real deal come here. Always extremely satisfied. Everything in the menu is awesome. The birthday person eats free as well! We frequent definitely on birthdays, anniversaries, and about anytime we are in the neighborhood. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for real Italian!! read more

About as good as gourmet italian fare can get. Well thought out menu, well plated. Absolutely wonderful. My eleven year old daughter liked it...okay she didn't rave over it ... it's not really a good restaurant for children, but she ate the Ravioli with spinach and cheese and about cleaned them up. She also ate the Creme Brulee and some of the tiramisu. I had the scallopini saltimbocca and it was fantastic. Top notch place. Great food. You won't be disappointed with this one. read more

Delicious food!! Always pleased with our food choices. Ate there last night and over ate, because it was so tasty. I had the Rigatoni Nicotera and my husband had the Orecchiette con Salsiccia alla Piemontese with a Cesare salad. Wow!! We even had enough left over to eat for lunch today. read more

We ate here while visiting Chattanooga and really enjoyed it! Everything was fresh and the staff was friendly. We're foodies and my husband is very picky with Italian and thought it was great. read more

Very disappointing experience and service! Showed up for our reservation and there was no high chair for my 1 year old (wish they mentioned this on the phone!) The hostess and server were not helpful and we left before ordering. Don't care how good the food is, will never return and give this business any money!! read more

This is by far my favorite Italian restaurant in town. The pasta is made in house from scratch and wow you can tell. I have never had anything that wasn't out of this world delicious. This is one place I order a different dish every time I go. With exception of the CremBrulé. It is perfect every time and again made there. Great wine selection. The service is impeccable and the weight staff always has fantastic suggestions and is attentive and helpful. I can't say enough. It is a cozy size venue so to be safe I always make a reservation. read more

Venturing out to try a new restaurant we decided to check this out. We got there early so we didn't need reservations. We were seated right away and the hostess was nice and she turned out to be our server as well. I ordered spinach ravioli and it was awesome. Very light and the portion wasn't massive; the flavors really stood out. The bread they provide was good but I'm not sure if they make it there. They served it cold and I'm use to warm bread. The flavor was fine but nothing outrageous. We had tiramisu for dessert and it was delicious probably the best I've had. This place is definitely on the list to check out again. read more

Tried Boccaccia for dinner for the first time. Here are the takeaway points: (1) Atmosphere was fine. I was expecting more refinement but it was pleasant. (2) Caesar Salad was on par with Jason's Deli. Nothing special at all. (3) The bar struggled creating requested drinks. If it's not cost effective to hire a real bartender, a staff member should be trained and have a cocktail database readily available. (4) The chef needs more experience/training grilling steaks. I requested my fillet cooked 'medium', it came out 'well done'. The waiter took it back, and the next one came out rare. (5) The prices are good (if management will properly address numbers 2, 3, and 4) above. We will give it another try and I will update this review. read more

It started out when my wife and I opened our napkins. It looked like somebody blew there bloody nose in my napkin and when my wife opened her napkin bread crumbs came out all over her and the table. We started with the calamari which was described as enough for two which is was maybe enough for one, plus it was cold and chewy. My wife ordered the lasagna and was told they had none left so she ordered the doves sole again none was left. Needless to say they should really tell you from the beginning what was sold out even though it was 6:45 reservation on a Saturday we were so surprised these item were sold out. We went with ravioli and orecchiette pastas. Which I will say were very good. read more

A little spendy and worth every penny. A very nice atmosphere with great service. The food is amazing. We really, really love this restaurant for special occasions. Oh, on your birthday dinner is free Kind of hard to find as there is no access off Broad. Turn on 31st and then two rights into the parking lot. read more

Consistently fresh and delicious Italian food in Chattanooga. Must try: Linguini Prosciutto e Piselli: alfredo sauce with fresh peas and prosciutto and The Lasagna The owner and servers make the experience lovely and the prices are very fair. read more

Love the food. Andrew was a great server. Bless Luciano's heart- he is lovely and funny but might stay at your table a little too long :-)

Yummy, rich and luscious lasagne! Started with the Ceasar salad which was perfectly dressed, garnished with generous shavings of Parmesan cheese ribbons and homemade garlic croutons. Paired with a beautiful red Italian wine! A perfect Italian dinner in Chattanooga! read more

Loved this spot, it is a cozy mom and pop restaurant. The food was awesome , it was fresh and some of the best Italian I have ever had.

My experience was best summed up by a friend at the table that said, "Meh, yeah, it's good, but not somewhere I'll be rushing to come back to." Nice, industrial chic atmosphere. Service was okay. Caesar salad was fine. The portions are a bit small for the entrees, which would be fine if there were a starch to go along with it. I had a salad, then my main entree of scallops and shrimp, and the side was ... a salad. They put both scallops and shrimp on skewers - they were good, but there was some grit in my scallop and the shrimp were a bit overdone - tasted pretty good though. My friend's ravioli was the star of the table - it was delicious! The chicken (piccata, I think?) was also labeled "fine." and the flounder special was "kinda a let down." I ordered a gin and tonic, and the tonic was flat. This drink rather symbolized our experience. read more

Thank you YELP for finding Boccaccia for us! It's a small , rustic gem of an Italian restaurant tucked into a warehouse. Loved it as soon as we walked in. We were on a drive from Hotlanta to Nash-Vegas and started searching on Yelp for Italian in Chattanooga! Our homemade capellini pasta was delicious as was the bread and the fragrant, fruity olive oil! Caesar salad was delicious as well. Looking forward to visiting again soon! read more

This is one of my favorite spots in Chattanooga. The food and dining space is unique and really shows off the Italian culture. The service is always great and the servers are extremely informative. Reservations are a must but they have always been great at working us in if we were not able to make a reservation in advance. Definitely check this place out! read more

I have not had such heavenly Italian food since a meal I had on a vine-shaded pavilion in the Italian countryside. Everyone I bring there is blown away. We all try each other's food and after every bite, we have to just sit back and bask in the flavor and aftertaste of the bite. It's not an exaggeration to say I almost cried multiple times because the food was so good. . . The owner is from Northern Italy and he knows his stuff. Great selection of dishes and it's all from scratch with extra love and attention given to the quality and freshness of the ingredients (of COURSE!). Fantastic selection of options and you have to get desert too because it is just heavenly. My widely-traveled father said their calamari appetizer was the best he'd ever had. As for me, I can't resist their ravioli. Every. Time. I do a "scarpetta" and sop up every bit of the sauce with their housemade bread afterwards, savoring it. The aura is classy, gorgeous, and refined. The service is phenomenal. It is a crime to visit Chattanooga and skip Boccaccia! You do not know what you're missing. This is the kind of place I would drive five hours to visit. read more

Most amazing Italian food you will ever put in your mouth! Great service. Love the small, intimate atmosphere. And the food is incredible.

We have lived in the area for over 11 years, and this is our favorite restaurant, hands down. Authentic, skillful, unique Italian flavors, sensible pairings, nice inner-city classy Italian feel ambiance, and always extremely friendly service. Try the $18 stuffed chicken dish. It is a world-class meal. read more

Passing through town (from Chicago to Jacksonville, FL) and just had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant! We originally found this restaurant on Yelp and the reviews we saw were accurate. Boccaccia - Late night dining. Great place! - Italian Near Me - Chattanooga, Tennessee

Best Italian restaurant in town hands down. My wife and I enjoyed our date night there and were even more impressed of the authentic Italian food. The "Involti" is what I would recommend. If you are wanting REAL Italian this is the place. read more

Boccaccia is THE best Italian restaurant in Chattanooga hands down. My girlfriend and I come here for every special occasion we have. The atmosphere is quaint and comfortable but the food is really what makes the place. I've never had an Italian pasta with curry in it, but the Rigatoni Nicotera is a must try. My personal favorite is the spinach ravioli with brown butter and sage, but we just tried a nightly special last night (gnocchi in a white wine and cream sauce with tomatoes and zucchini), and it was just as fantastic. The service is always top notch. Sometimes the owner comes out and mingles with the customers which is a nice touch. We even got free desert on our anniversary because the owner was so glad we chose his restaurant. Although it can be a tad pricey, it is worth every penny in my book. read more

The homemade pasta dishes my wife and I both had were delicious. However, the wait staff on the other hand was inexperienced. We ordered more bread and the server brought some back with a totally empty olive oil container. Also they are not skilled/trained on how to open and serve a bottle of wine. For the price of the entrees, the staff should be better trained. Also the single stall womens restroom had a broken lock which created stress for a young female as well as my wife. Once again a $25-$45 entree establishment should have a working restroom. Obviously a very poor managed restaurant! read more

I would advise never eating here. I booked a reservation for my husband and I, we drove 40 minutes to get there, and when we walked in we were informed that we were past 15 minutes late and no longer had a reservation. We were not, but this hostess had an attitude so I decided to call the manager from the car. Apparently , this restaurant trains all their staff the same way (the customer is wrong and always argue with them). I would make two recommendations.... don't go to this restaurant and if the owners are reading this, send you're staff to customer service training. read more

I have always been a huge fan of Boccaccia, but I have to say this last time was not enjoyable :(My sisters and myself took my elderly mother there for dinner about 2 weeks ago and where seated around 6:30pm. We had 1 app, Caesar salads which where pretty good. Our dinner finally showed up around 8:45pm. We watched as other patrons, who where seated much later than us , had eaten- paid there bill and left. We inquired a couple of times to our waiter about our entrees. He was most unpleasant and seemed mad we where even asking! We all have worked in food service, so we where patient and tried to be kind. I think the disappointment was when the owner/ chefs wife tried to give us someone else's entrees and we explained we had been waiting quite awhile. Well- she didn't seem to care either- and off she went. Finally the food arrived- my nieces scallops where undercooked and my special , which was chicken , was tough and overcooked. No apology from anyone, no oops I forgot to turn that ticket in, no oops I'm in the weeds let me comp ur salads( we would have declined ) whatever just some customer service and a smile from someone would have been nice. Boccaccia has always been a favorite of mine, but sadly there are to many other great restaurants that are better! Much better food and much much better service and ALOT BETTER WAITSTAFF !! read more

What a gem. We stumbled upon this place by accident. Note: I'm 3rd Generation Sicilian--so I'm VERY picky when it comes to "Italian" food. This place is authentic. Don't tell my mother, but it's better than her cooking. Fresh, homemade ingredients. A mature/sophisticated atmosphere so dress accordingly. You'll need to make reservations, but it is worth every cent. A fantastic dining experience. The service was amazing. We will be coming back for anniversaries or celebrations. read more

Interesting group of reviews. I live local and appreciate the roman atmosphere. This place is quiet, quaint and authentic. If you feel the need to compare it to popular Italian chain restaurants... I feel terrible for you. If you want quality fare, independently operated, and an authentic charm this is the place. In selfishness, I almost hate to write the review. It will extend my wait time or force me not to get my reservation. read more
