Firstly, service went really well. Waitress was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. I ordered the filet mignon and often will get my steak very rare when ordered medium well. The service has greatly improved since it turned to Bocca however my favorite bartender and server still remain Katie & the other one I think her name is Cassidy we call her Cassie, they are the best. The decor is great, and they put a little bit more Italian things on the menu. Our server Bianca right now is not that good now & I had to ask for ice for our water and wine like 3 times and it took 24 minutes for my husband to get his cup of soup and me my appetizer salad. We had the steak/ rib eye with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Meat was tenderly cooked but slightly under what I had asked for in medium-well. It was pretty pink in the middle. Beautiful place. Weren't a ton of vegetarian options that weren't heavy, so that was disappointing. I got the charcuterie board and enjoyed the cheeses, except for the blue cheese which was not anything like other bleu cheeses I've had, it was gross, but I know that it is technically mold, but I've just never actually tasted any that tasted like mold. Chantalle & Sonja are phenomenal bartenders. We came in for a quick stop after shopping for cocktails and ended up staying for dinner. Sonja went above and beyond by making a mocktail version of an espresso martini something that meant a lot to my pregnant girlfriend. We walked in around 6pm on a Friday night. There was a 20 minute wait but no problem as we made our way to the bar after being handed a pager. I love the upscale decor and seating as well. My blue cheese stuffed olive martini was amazing! My boyfriend had a rum drink but I can't remember the name. It was yummy too! We were seated after about 15 minutes in the dining room. We ordered the Kobe meatballs which were to die for! Highly recommend! I had the sesame crusted ahi tuna as my entree. It was a huge portion and was occupied by soup to start. Dinner was soured at the end by the fact that the waitress kept screwing up the bill charging us for stuff we did not order. Whenever we have guests from out of town, that want Northern Italian food, we take them to Bocca. The meals are constantly delicious. The service is friendly and there is no problem with finding entrees for everyone. Chicken Piccata is a favorite and the portions are generous. We often take home leftovers. Other friends love the seafood. The lobster ravioli is scrumptious. That Weds. night the 5 of us were there at 6:30, we received our meal promptly. Since it was graduation at the middle school, the restaurant was packed. Birthday cakes had flaming candles and are spectacular. I had Prosecco, but other people had Gin and Tonics, Bourbon on the rocks and specialty cocktails. We had reservations for my birthday. Overall the entrees were decent. The burrata was not good. My fiancé requested something special for my birthday regardless of the cost. A few patrons had birthdays as they sang happy birthday and provided them with essentially a sparkler, which definitely caught my eye. Really enjoyed our meal at Bocca on Saturday night. Very busy and we had to wait about 20 minutes even though we had reservations. The servers were friendly and efficient. There were 4 of us and we all enjoyed our meals. I ordered the Scallop Risotto- seared scallops with roasted corn, cheesy risotto. It was delicious. My wife had the chicken parm. Her chicken cutlet covered the entire plate and could feed a small family. (I will be enjoying her leftovers). Nephew had the 14 oz Ribeye and his fiance the mushroom ravioli. i've been enjoying going to Boca ever since they were pasta house . My favorite dish was always chicken marsala It was my favorite restaurant to go to until recently where I had to abruptly stop. The main reason was that they decided to change the recipe on the chicken marsala and the last time I was there I couldn't even finish it. It was so bad. The manager actually scolded me one time when I walked in about being a taken aback by a waitress who had a noxious smelling perfume that threw me for a loop. Mind you, one of the things that I loved about going to this restaurant aside from the wonderful chicken marsala was the smell and the aroma of the dish when it approached the table. So that's why only smelling her perfume instantly giving me a headache ruined my whole experience. However, I was nice and I actually didn't tell her that, she actually made me feel bad for noticing her perfume so then I had to feel apologetic but that wasn't good enough for her. She had to go tell the manager like I was in middle school all over again to make matters even worse. The next time I went there, the manager said "I hate to have this uncomfortable conversation with you " and the first thing I thought to myself was ", I wish you wouldn't" but he went ahead and did it anyway and then he told me about the perfume incident. Then he proceeded to make me feel really bad about it and scolded me like I was a school girl. It was absolutely humiliating and embarrassing, and I wasn't gonna ever go back. but I decided to get over it because I really love that dish. But guess what , couple weeks later they change the recipe and of course it's easy for me to presume that they did it just to get rid of me, but I've never felt so unwelcome into any establishment and now that my favorite dish has been ruined, there's really never a reason to go there ever again. I told this traumatizing experience to a friend of mine and she said there's actually rules against waitresses wearing a lot of perfume for that reason so they don't even know what they're doing. Besides, when you make somebody that goes there every single week for almost 2 years straight feel that bad they don't give a crap about you And I'm never going there again and that's really the main reason because I thought OK. They changed the recipe but I'll still come with some friends when they come out of town because there's so many good chefs here but really frankly I'll never go again because of that experience, how dare they treat me like that loyal customer and the manager has the audacity to treat me like some petulant unruly child . Ok so first things first, the bread. The free bread that comes with the meal is arguably one of the most delicious, warm, crispy complimentary breads I've ever had. They come soft in a cute little basket and keep coming once the basket is empty. The oil to dip it with is house made - cooked and infused with red pepper/garlic and topped with a generous amount of Parmesan. ***You can buy them frozen and in bulk from the restaurant and you better believe we did. Next - the meals. All of our meals were decadent and rich with delicious flavors and heaping amounts . We boxed everything because there was so much! The pasta with vodka is incredible, the pasta itself was perfectly al dente and held the sauce well. Our service was perfect, the waitress attentive and kind. The Pasta House in Fairhaven, MA has been a staple since I was a kid. In fact, I don't ever remember a time where that location wasn't "The Pasta House". As someone who loves Fairhaven and grew up right in the neighborhood I always get nervous when I see an old business just up and change. Enter Bocca: The "evolution" of what the Pasta House was. I'm not entirely sure it needed the facelift it got (especially the name change)... but that's just me and my reluctance to lose all of the small town feel of our little town. Bocca is nice inside, it is just Pasta House with a new coat of paint. They didn't change much and I actually consider that a very good thing. In fact, not much has changed at all. If you enjoyed the Pasta House... You will still enjoy Bocca so, fear not. I got the Chicken Parm and it was good. A crispy later of baked cheese over lightly dressed pasta (dried not fresh, but a big improvement from the angel hair they used to use). Everything was as it should be. Chicken was crispy and delicious. It wasn't a big portion but it was just fine. I would have enjoyed a little more sauce but.... I realize that over dressing our pasta is an American thing... so I understand why they underdress. The party that was with me all basically gave a thumbs up to their meals. Nobody really had much to say other than "It's really good". I know that comes off as we were underwhelmed, but we were not. 4 friends went out for a nice dinner at a restaurant that is priced slightly moderately... but we went... it was clean, service was good, food all met expectations, the decor is pleasant... it was a fine meal. I know a lot of people on here complain about the price, but personally I love the fact that when I book a night at Bocca (formerly Pasta House)... I know what I'm getting. I am getting a good meal, served by a friendly staff... by a company that has employed town members for generations. So please support Bocca.
