Boca Taqueria is the all-around best, fast-Mexican option in the Phoenix metro area! This is my second location to visit and they did not disappoint. I ordered the horchata -- it is hands-down the best horchata I've had in years. The seafood enchilada had all the right textures and flavors and, for $6.00, is a culinary bargain. The chips and salsa order was generous and I didn't find myself in need of a refill due to the large portion size. Yet as amazing as the food is, it is the quality service and competitive pricing that makes Boca Taqueria my go to place. Today, I asked for something extra not completely in line with their standard protocol. After informing me what their policy was, the worker quickly added - "I've got you" and provided me what I had requested. I loved that response. He educated me as the customer without making me feel stupid AND he met my need. That level of customer service sophistication is rare and they nailed it today. For today's visit, I dined outside and enjoyed the Mexican melodies that streamed through the outdoor speakers. I was a great vibe. Average Mexican food. Not authentic at all. The chips and salsa were the best part. The salmon taco my husband ordered was very good and something I would order again. The shrimp taco was disappointing. The shrimps were very small and tasted as if they were previously frozen. The steak taco was very dry and chewy. There was no seasoning or flavor. I don't think I would return for the tacos or recommend. Hopefully I can have a better experience if I come back. read more

We had an okay experience at Boca Taqueria. My shrimp taco with the pineapple salsa was my favorite bite. My chicken taco and my boyfriend's beef taco were just okay. He said the beef tasted like it was just crock-pot beef, not chargrilled. Chips were served room temperature and the salsa and guac were okay, nothing to write home about. They don't serve beer and alcohol but they do have a frozen margarita machine, but we skipped it. They didn't have a salsa bar the public could access, only the cashier could pass out so that was a bummer too. All in all, we'd probably skip over Boca Taqueria. read more

We had a family tragedy last week. My next door neighbors brought Chicken enchiladas, chips and Salsas ( green and red) mini bean burritos, rice, and beans so I got a good overview of what they do.. I've been past Boca for quite some time now and we finally had the opportunity to stop in for lunch following a doctors appointment and honestly it wasn't what I was expecting it to taste like. Now it wasn't terrible or bad it had a sweet taste to the steak burrito and the salsa. I ordered a BRC burrito now the refried beans were nice and creamy like they were made fresh and not out of can with a fresh wam tortilla. My boyfriend ordered a steak burrito and the steak to tortilla ratio was good the marinade itself is what killed the taste of the bite size pieces of steak it was super sweet as well as the salsa it's just not what I'm use to tasting when biting into a burrito I just have to say that it's not for me so if you like a sweeter version of Mexican food then its definitely a place for you. My wife and I went here yesterday, and we both had margaritas and taquitos during happy hour (2-6 pm Mon through Saturday). We got the Cadillac margaritas and they were delicious as were the taquitos. I got the shrimp and pineapple burrito, very VERY good. My wife got the grilled fish taco and the salmon taco. Her favorite was the fish, but she also likes the salmon. All and all, delicious meal, decent price. But the refried beans just taste like some weird Smokey leather shoe. I don't even know how you mess those up. The rice didn't have much flavor, but would randomly taste like dirt which was concerning. I got a mole chicken enchilada. Super sweet and strange tasting. They also have a "chile corn" side which I was told was like elote (by an employee) and it was literally just boiled corn with peppers. No seasoning, flavor, cheese, nothing that resembles elote. I've come here many times. Excellent food, excellent drinks, and excellent service. But this review is to shout-out the catering manager, Emily, and Shawn - who works at the Higley location. I messed up while placing a catering order and they went above and beyond to make sure the order was fulfilled. They were so friendly, helpful, and communicative. I really appreciate them. I will continue doing catering orders here, as the food is always a hit when I do lunches for healthcare providers. The portions are generous and packed well. It was taco Tuesday which gave customers a buck off each taco. This was a random stop, but definitely glad I tried this place. The shredded chicken taco was all white meat with the usual stuff on top (Pico and lettuce), but the shrimp taco really shined the brightest. The smallish shrimp was cooked in honey and then a pineapple relish was placed on top of this taco. So excited to roll up on this place and see a big sign in the window saying $3 Margarita Monday! I expected a small plastic cup with a couple of sips worth of margarita but I was wrong! It was a full on pint glass, tasty too! I ordered a carne asada taco, grilled fish taco, cheese enchilada & my table shared the chips, guac and queso. I loved my carne asada taco but didn't care for the fish or cheese enchilada. They tasted sweet which I found weird until I learned this place is connected to Tia Rosa which isn't a fave of mine. I would def come back for some carne asada, chips and queso and that dang good margarita though. The staff was friendly and hard working. If you're looking for good service and meh food come here. The service is good and the ambiance is nice but the burritos are okay. If you want a burrito you'd be better off making one at home even if you don't know how to. The burrito fell apart in my hand and I got maybe a tiny piece of chicken. The tortillas are thin and they really rely on beans to fill them so I left eating a big burrito but feeling hungry. Such a fun place to enjoy lunch or dinner with friends. We had heard from a friend about Boca Taqueria and when we saw their Heart Taco Platter we decided what a perfect way to check them out. During Valentines Day weekend we were able to enjoy 30 tacos, the Boca Trio, Margs and more and it was fantastic - highly recommend sitting at a high top table near the window. We have since gone back to Boca a handful of times and have learned it's always best around lunch when they first open on the weekends. It tends to not be as busy as a taco Tuesday or a Margs happy hour night. Each time we have had the Boca Trio and love the guacamole and queso. The Tacos have all been tasty that we have tried and the kids menu is pretty perfect for any kid or picky eater. The only thing we have had that wasn't our fav was the Chile relleno it was a little on the soggy side for our liking. The chicken enchiladas as a favorite with rice and beans. The margaritas are tasty - I prefer the watermelon one and my husband likes the Cadillac or the pineapple one. Not what I was expecting, rice and beans were tasting like uncle bens and Rosarita refried beans. The meat on my steak tacos had no flavor as if they were cooked in a crockpot. Carne asada needs to have some type of seasoning. Meat was dry when trying to eat unless you added hot sauce or lime but still no flavor. First time trying this Taqueria and it will be the last. One Star for the chips and salsa. Everything else was well below one star. Rice is hard and under cooked bland and chewy. Refried beans have a weird Smokey flavor with a gritty texture not appetizing at all. Burrito was dry and flavorless. The chicken was moist but flavorless ~seasonings in their cooking is missing all around. All and all one of the worst meals I have had in a long time. Made a trip to the restroom and it should be cleaned more regularly since they are Male/Female shared, the bathroom toilet handle was broken so that was fun. I've been here countless times and it's always constantly delivers great food. Boca is always a great choice for mexican food. They also have a great happy hour menu which is everyday from 2 to 6 with great choices of food and drinks. For me, I absolutely love the beans here. Sure it's an odd thing to talk about the beans but for mexican food you better have delicious beans or I'm out! The beans have this great smokey taste to it that just adds a really good flavor which is why I always get the bean and cheese burritos and a bean tostada. Top that with the green tomatillo salsa.... perfection! Also the shrimp tacos and burritos are so tasty with that delicious pineapple salsa. Yummy!! Really you can't go wrong with Boca. We had Boca Taqueria cater our midnight snack at our Cinco de Mayo wedding. And it was the best decision ever. Our guests kept coming up to us and telling us how amazing the food was and I couldn't agree more.
