The service was pretty bad. I wanted to look at my car to see what kind of repairs it would need after an accident. They rushed me and said that they didn't have all day. When they brought out my car they pulled it out and a tire was popped so the rim became useless after that. I also had a bag of coins in my car that was probably worth $60 and it was gone. I would feel horrible for anyone ever dealing with a real emergency situation and then being unfortunate enough to have to deal with this company. No-one deserves that burden. My fiancé was in a horrendous motorcycle accident roughly a year ago. Bob's towing came, and towed away the wreckage. At the time, I was more worried about dealing with her than thinking about what the hell to do with the bike. Should have just had it junked. Nope... I made a big mistake there... I let bob's towing tow it, and then they stored it... for $150+/week (yes, I am serious... more than you pay for an actual storage site for a month on a WEEKLY rate) Fast forward about a week and a half, my fiancé is still in the hospital, I am working two jobs, and spending money left and right on this (even after insurance), and I get a bill from good ole bob's.... $1k owed. Are you kidding me? I really don't have time to deal with this right now. I will deal with it later (again, yes, this part is *my* fault, and I freely admit that) A year goes by, I had forgotten about Bob's and the bike, they had already put a lien on it, destroyed it, whatever, I didn't care. My focus was my fiancé and seeing her through to good health, as it should have been. Low and behold, what is this in the mail? Collection notice.... $2300+.... WTF!!!! Call the collection agency, find out what this is about. Oh, this is Bob's Towing, they want their $2,300. Ok, fine, lets attempt to work with them to reach a reasonable resolution. Offer to settle for the last few dollars available on one non-maxed out credit card ($700... way more than reasonable to begin with for a friggen MOTORCYCLE towing and disposal). Nope, Bob doesn't want to be reasonable. He wants the full $2300. Oh, but he's a good samaritan, so he's wiling to make a payment plan arrangement. End solution: I was forced to borrow money from a friend or watch my credit be destroyed. It didn't cost bob $2300 to handle the motorcycle. It didn't even cost bob $1000. It did however cost me $2300 for being focused on my fiancé. Do not EVER let this company near you in a time of crisis, because while you are focusing on the important things, Bob will be busy focusing on how he can get as much money as possible out of you. Note that I call the owner Bob, I don't know if it really is Bob, or tom, DICK or jane. Either way, this is a downright horrible money grubbing person looking to exploit anyone he or she can while you are facing a real emergency. Do not let the same thing happen to you. read more

As my car over heated and surpassed the red section on the engine light, my engine blew out white smoke. Another car before hand had got stuck on the freeway, and driver James Brandt (45) towed him away, he spotted us and came back right away. As a first timer going through this tragedy with my car, James made me feel safe without belittling me for asking simple questions. Prior to this incident I had no knowledge of what to do, who to trust or what part of my car was in distress. He towed my car safely to the nearest exit lane being Summit Road. It was then when I asked what I should do next about this situation, and what should be my next steps as to trying to fix it, to get me home. I asked James to show me where the leak was occurring and what I should do to fix it, to be able to at least make it back to Santa Cruz. In less than 20 minutes he demonstrated where the leak was coming from ( it was huge; a pipe had a big slash leaking an enormous amount of water) and fixed it immediately, allowing me to get back on the road making it safely back home. He never once questioned the assistance I needed, and worked very efficiently and meticulously. I was able to make it back home without having the concern of maybe getting stuck on the road again. He was literally the most helpful person that could have crossed my path during this very weird and stressful moment. read more

What horrid, nasty, and disgusting customer service from April. Wow. I'm shaking as I type this. I've been dealing with my car being stopped on the highway for the past 2 days and obviously I've been highly stressed about it. I had an appointment to get my car towed at 12:30pm but the driver wasn't there. I called to get an update and spoke to Larissa. She said the driver had gotten a call from the police to move another vehicle and that takes priority. Fine. I rescheduled for 5:30 pm. Larissa had confirmed with me TWICE and even called the driver of the tow truck and he said it was fine. Cool. Next thing I know, my insurance is calling me because Bobs towing cancelled the appt. Huh? So I called Bob's back and thats when I had the displeasure of speaking with April. I told April what happened and she immediately said they don't schedule calls so there's no way Larissa had that convo with me. What?! She proceeded to get extremely rude on the phone as I tried to tell her that Larissa indeed did reschedule the time. Just because it's against employee protocol doesn't mean an employee didn't engage. And then right in the middle of me speaking, April hung up on me. I thought to myself, "this can't be." So I called back again, of course unfortunately got April again, and as SOON as I started to say that it was rude of her to hang up, she hung up again! Unbelievable!!!! This place has taken advantage of me. My car was stolen, the sheriffs department called and told me to pick up my car from this tow yard however after obtaining the release I went straight to the tow yard and called them. After waiting 2 hours they called and said that I needed to come back in the morning. I slept in my sisters car because I'm not from the area and was back before 9 am which I was sent away again to obtain more money as they were charging me gate fees, storage and tow. Upon returning and given the quote if $1030.00 I waited again for hours and they tried charging me for the last time I had been there? I unfortunately was unable to get my car back and when I asked to retrieve my belongings they wanted to charge me $130.00. I pray that sharing this will help at least someone avoid having these problems by not doing business with this company. read more

Hyroplaned on Hwy 17 during the recent storms and totaled my car. CHP called the tow. Driver was fine. Owner was there at the yard and very personable: he started an estimate and figured it was totaled; I singed a form so ins. co. could take it w/o me needing to go back there form Oakland; but I am only giving two stars because he never mentioned that storage fees of $85 a day start accruing immediately...and at one point I asked about vehicle staying there and he said no problem unless it was there a very long time. He knows I was insured so figured they'll cover it, but I still think that was selective omission as I would have started my claim right then. So about a month ago I sprung a flat on my way to work right around the corner from Bob's Towing. Of course I checked yelp to see what tow companies had decent reviews and this one seemed good enough. The tow truck arrived in about an hour, which is how long they said it would take. The guy was nice enough and changed my tire. Unfortunately while I was waiting, my battery died too. I told the tow truck driver about the battery before he started changing the tire and he said he'd give me a jump. He jumped my battery with no problems. The guy asked how I was going to pay and I said I had roadside assistance on insurance. He took my insurance info and said he'd bill my insurance company. My impressions of the company then? Average tow company...3/5 stars at that point. Fast forward to today when I get a call from my confused and angry insurance agent. He told me he got TWO bills for this incident. The first was for the flat tire and said there were no issues. The second was for the dead battery. The insurance agent said the going rate for a battery jump is $65 or so in San Jose. This place is charging $130...just for the jump...when they were already at the scene for a flat tire. I get that they shouldn't be expected to perform a service for free, but to charge twice the going rate for a jump when they're already there??? I'm sure my insurance agent wouldn't care if they charged $20 or $30 for the extra two minutes it took to jump my car, or hell, even the entire going rate of $65, but to charge $130??? Outrageous. I wouldn't care so much if my insurance company is out the money, but they're advising me that they might not cover it if the tow company insists on this ridiculous price. Either the tow company is gouging my insurance company for extra cash (which is highly unethical) or they have ridiculously high prices...either way, I'll never do business with them again and I encourage everyone else to stay away from them as well. Whatever and whenever avoid this place if at all possible. My car was stolen 12/5/15. On the evening of 12/18/15 (8:00PM) Campbell PD called to notify me my car had been recovered, but was not drivable, so it was towed. I was at Campbell PD before noon the next day to sign a release and went directly to Bob's Towing where it was being "stored". Now this hadn't even been 24 hrs since I was first notified and Bob's Towing told me it was going to be $550. to get the ransom paid for my 92 Acura. As one neighbor put it, I've been a victim twice from the robbery. Granted it was not a new car, but it ran great and there hasn't been any mechanical problems or issues. I even had an offer three months ago of $1,000.00 for it as long as it ran. Since Bob's Towing is owned by ATA N. ZAHEH (doesn't sound like Bob to me) and they have a contract with Campbell PD I was given no choice or option. I'm a disabled senior with not a lot of resources and when I asked to see if my grand daughters car seat was in the back seat the owners son quickly pulled the gate closed. Raising eyebrows, I hope so! Every day the cost goes up, if I had been notified prior to the towing I would have used my AAA card and had the car taken to my home until I hear from insurance, etc. It was the save distance and would have cost nothing. They said the car was in the middle of the road. Bascom Avenue is approximately a six lane road Unfortunately for me they couldn't take a minute to pull to the side of the road and call me. Campbell PD couldn't even apprehend the drunk who stole my car and all they said was he was a Hispanic male with a beanie. Remind you of anybody?? Is Campbell PD allowing ZADEH to scamming and taking advantage?? I'm the second person in as many months to complain about this identical scamming procedure. Wake up San Jose and Campbell PD !! Adding more salt to the wound, I received a notice today that my Acura was pending a lien sale, exactly one week from when they acquired it at an additional $70.00 plus addition daily storage. read more

I was super impressed with this company. I woke up and my car tire was completely flat and I was unable to fix it myself. I happened to call Bob's Tire out of several companies I saw online. They had someone out to me within half an hour, the guy (Mike) was very professional, they had a very modern truck that was equipped with everything, they quickly changed my old tire (which was really jammed / stuck on my vehicle), put air into my spare tire while putting it on and only charged me $65. read more

Great service. Rick was fair and helpful and just a nice guy. It took a while to get the truck but it was a nice big flat-bed and I've never seen a more secure tow set-up. Let's face it, you probably don't expect that much and you're really never happy to need a tow but these guys provide a great service. I guess that's why they've been in business since 1958 and contract with the CHP and Los Gatos and Campbell Police Departments. This is a highly-responsive towing service. I was stranded one evening after a fender-bender left my car inoperable. Not only did the driver, John, work past the end of his shift to rescue me, but he also went back to the shop first to change trucks due to the type of vehicle I have. After towing my car to the destination of my choice, he took into consideration the neighborhood and hour and then even gave me a ride home! The next morning he called and let me know he had just driven past my car on his way into work and it was still there just as we left it. The owner to this place is the rudest guy in the world! My girlfriends car got towed here from Los Gatos late one night after they closed so it was too late to get the car out according to the lady on the phone who failed to tell us about a $105 dollar gate fee to get it out that night so we were quoted an $88 dollar tow fee and a $210 dollar storage fee for overnight storage and were told we couldn't pick it up until the next day, as long as we there before 5pm, there would be no more fees...So we went the next day and they wanted $500!!!! After arguing with the lady at the counter she called the manager in who I guess was the owner who then, after arguing some more, we told him what we were told on the phone the night before, he finally took off the extra fees but then proceeded to call us names!!! Specifically calling my girlfriend a dumb bitch and a f****** bitch saying were lucky that he was doing this for us and we're lucky he's not charging us more. He kept calling her names that were very vulgar and disrespectful using every cuss word in the book. Fortunately I kept my cool thinking that this guy must have some problems or some issues. I got into an accident years ago. The Campbell police sent Bobs Towing. They towed my car to their yard. I went to pick up the car with another tow service. They charged me a fortune to store the car for an extra day that they were closed. They said an extra $150 cash when I picked up the car because they had to use a dolly. Although I never saw this when they took the car. Then when the car came out of the yard my stereo and speakers were missing. At first they said it didn't have a stereo when it came in. Then after pressing them they brought out a box with my stereo and speakers and said they were not told by the other employee that it was removed because they didn't want it to be stolen out of the locked car in the yard surrounded by security lights and a barbed wire fence. Guess what they said next. Oh it's going to be an additional $25 for the stereo removal. So remember, once they have your car, they call all the shots. read more
