Oh, my engine light goes on its frustration right away. I took my truck to the dealership, figuring they could help me. They just gave me the run around for months, yes, months of irritation. I left my truck there to let them fix it where it just sat, and nothing happened. I guess we have to learn the hard way. Finally, the dealership told me I needed to pay nine grand to fix it. Yeah, that's a pass. I was finally able to find somebody that knew what was wrong with the truck immediately. Mind you, I was skeptical because of my experience with the dealership, but it's such a relief to find a mechanic that is trustworthy finally, and you can take your vehicle there. I towed my car here in February and they did a full diagnostic on it for $45. Turns out it was just a dead battery $ 250. Then they told me that my water pump was leaking and needed to be replaced as soon as possible $951. I went to 5 mile auto shop in April and they tested my water pump by emptying it and then filling it back again and holding it at 15 psi for 25 minutes and No leaking. Cant help but feel the full diagnostic was not accurate. read more

The ac broke on wife's car. I saw that the hose was leaking so it was likely going to be quick fix. We took the car to bob's after reading their reviews on google. Now we wish we had read the 1 star reviews too. We informed them to check the leaking hose and send us a quote. She was given a quote for replacing the condenser and compressor around $2200. I thought that was a bit surprising but decided to go for it. They changed it out and charged her. They said it would be covered with a 2 year warranty or 24000 miles. Relieved that the ac was working, she came home. Exactly 3 days later, the AC was broken again. After calling them, they setup an appointment to take a look at the issue. Low and behold, the hose is broken. They setup another appointment because they didn't have the hose in stock. Multiple days of taking the car there and Uber rides were extra cost to us. Charged her almost $500 again after saying that they wouldn't charge her for labor which they did. Totally gaslighted her. So at this point they charged us $2600 for a hose fix which I had originally pointed them to. I highly recommend everyone NOT going into this business with an open wallet. They just might stick you. As far as we are concerned, we will be suing them in small claims court. This is not over. read more

Bob's Automotive flushed the transmission in my 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan 94,000 mi. and installed "ATF DEX VI Bulk Fluid" instead of the required ATF+4. Grant (I believe) said this was a better fluid-- the same only better, same specs. Dexron 6 ATF was used and does not have the ATF+4 rating that Napa Auto parts, AAmco Transmission, companies that make both these transmission fluids--Moble and Castrol all say is not interchangeable with ATF+4 and will damage or destroy the Dodge transmission. It's been 2 weeks and yesterday the car shuddered when accelerating from a start and later there was a hard shift and clunking sound At The advice of the Dodge dealer and other expert advice, I just made an appointment with the Dodge dealer to flush the Dexron 6 and replace with ATF+4. This will be more than $330.00 but better than a new transmission. read more

All of the dealership repair centers were scheduling me weeks out for my '14 Ford Edge's blown fan motor. Normally I would have waited - but the lack of defrost made driving a literal hazard. Feeling determined to get it done, I pulled up Yelp and called four or five of the top reviewed businesses ... again they were booking me pretty far out until I got to Bob's, who invited me to bring it in that day. Packed shops are great. It proves that they're doing good business - but I can't stress what a blessing and RELIEF it was to have a shop make room for me. I felt valued even before I became a customer. When I got to Bob's I expected an empty bay and parking lot, since they were so willing to have my car in that day - what I found was a busy and EFFICIENT shop who handled my issue in a few hours, as well as servicing a constant drip of other cars. The employees were friendly and accommodating (even offering me a ride wherever I wanted to go during the repairs) and the owner Grant even took some time to chat with me since I'm new to the area. The stress of repairing a car out of warranty was eased just by Bob's practice of treating customers like good people. I appreciate that very much in a business. The pricing was, for sure, less than I would have paid elsewhere for what was timely work. My check engine light turned on, and I went to auto zone to get the code checked and was told it was a EVAP code, I called bobs service and the got me in on the following Monday! Super thankful to be driving my car again! The customer service was amazing, after dropping off the car an employee (mike/mark I'm so sorry ) offered to drop me off 18 min away! I normally feel anxious going into service centers but not here! They were also able to give me a free quote on my maintenance needed soon! I'm definitely coming back here! I've had my car serviced / repaired at Bob's Service Center three times now. They've always done a great job and been fair. The most recent experience was just this last week, my car steering was acting weird and was having a hard time turning. I dropped it off Tuesday afternoon, and by the next day, they had it fixed. Apparently the power steering pump had come loose. Grant was my mechanic and he did an excellent job. Super nice and provided an awesome experience. Would recommend to all my friends. Using Bob's Service Center's website, I requested an appointment for a cooling system flush. This is one of the services offered on the website. I further noted in my request that my vehicle needed a full cooling system flush and possibly additional cooling system diagnostics - another service offered on the website. When Bob's confirmed my appointment (2 days later), there were no concerns indicated. When I arrived for my appointment, they told me they were not equipped to flush a cooling system. They could only drain the radiator and refill it. Totally unacceptable! read more

My wife and I were recently in the market for a reliable used car for our daughter. Whenever we buy a used car, we always have it inspected by a mechanic to make sure there are no major problems. So, in addition to looking for a car, we also searched the internet for a good mechanic. We were able to find a few which had received good reviews. One of those was Bob's Auto Service. Once we'd found an acceptable vehicle, we took it to Bob's and were very happy with the service we received there. The mechanics (Thomas and Eric) were very nice and knowledgeable. While the mechanics inspected the vehicle, we met the owner, and he was very nice too. We talked for a few minutes and he told us that they had been in business at that location for 42 years. To us, this was a good indication that we'd made the right choice due to the fact that mechanics don't stay in business that long unless they run a good, reliable and trustworthy shop. The inspection itself was very comprehensive. They literally checked everything and provided a very thorough report. This provided us with the comfort and confidence we needed to move forward with the purchase. It's not always easy to find a good, reliable mechanic you can trust. We believe Bob's Auto Service is one of those businesses. We don't live in Spokane. But if we did, we would take all of our cars to Bob's for service and recommend them to all of our friends. Arrived 5 minutes early. 30 minutes later my car was still out front. 1 hour later all they did was move it to the alley around back to make it look like progress was being made. Might as well update. Went to a different shop on division, took them a half hour to find out it was my catalytic converter that was giving me problems, and told me all of the other parts put on by Bob's were extraneous to this issue, along with several not being put on correctly. Now I have permanent damage to my Transmission because of the way Bob's does business, thanks guys for ignoring something that popped up right away on their engine sensor. At least it still drives, but I would recommend if you want mechanics that actually find out what is wrong with your car and fix it instead of stringing you along and making you pay out your nose, go ANYWHERE else except for Bob's. Old Review: Used to love coming to Bob's service center to fix car, but past year has been a nightmare. After first fix around the beginning of February of this year, same issues kept happening with vehicle and mechanics could not figure out what to do about it over multiple visits and would always assure the random part they were throwing in would fix the problem. Thomas or Eric the managers at the time had to take care of it, and usually would be very apologetic when I would bring my car in with the same issue from it not having been fixed by them, and would usually notice many things their mechanics would ignore. Last time I took it in, vehicle broke down the same way it previously had; not 20 minutes after getting fixed, five blocks away from bobs. Was able to get vehicle back with multiple error lights & now service engine light on with help from pedestrian and pushing. When I got back, Aaron denied any wrongdoing with vehicle, and told me he was the one that had worked on it. Thomas looked at it, and determined five mins later the vehicle was not repaired right, and Aaron was not the mechanic working on it and ended up doing a temporary fix and had me wait on a repair till they got a part for it in. Thousands of dollars later and my car still has the same problems, and the now manager Aaron cannot even set an appointment for within the month now that Eric and Thomas have quit. Now that Aaron is manager, and Thomas and Eric are gone, I have no interest in taking my vehicle to a place with sub-par mechanics and rude service from the current staff read more

I have had a nightmare of a summer with my 06 Dodge Dakota, it has had 4 or 5 (so mush bullshit I can't recall for sure.) power steering pumps replaced sine june 24th by another shop. After getting my truck back and almost getting in an accident when i was told it was fine by the other shop I promptly took it to Bob's. I kinda gave Grant the run on my story and it seemed almost immediatly the shop took a vested interest in getting this situation all sorted out. I'm not a mechanic but this has been a horrific series of events and I have done countless hours of research on why my truck would be burning through pump after pump. They listened and looked at everything I asked, they were able to get a new, not remanufactured pump within days whereas the other shop is still waiting. After the pump was put in the steering was still binding up and I asked if they would look at something the other shop said was fine (They didn't actually look at). It turns out ball joints needed replacing. Long story short my truck drives like a dream, their ability to listen to the customer and do quality work is outstanding. Between the new pump and the two new ball joints they were still cheaper than the previos shop. My bill for repairs was roughly 1,600 whereas the other shop charged me nearly 1,100 just for the pump alone. I will be taking my vehicles here for now on, I'm sold. I cannot express how happy I am to have my truck back, its an 06 with only 125k miles on it and they saved me from throwing in the towel and trading it in. We were traveling to our summer home in Deer Lake from Lake Stevens Washington when we just arrived in Spokane and our truck went dead. We managed to get it started and looked up the nearest auto repair shop to take it to. Lucky for us it was Bob's Service Center! They were helpful and they got our truck right in to look at it. When it looked like it would be a longer repair they offered to park it inside for the night before working on it the next day. They even offered to give us a ride to my Nephews house which was coincidental 2 blocks away. It took a day and a half but they fixed it and did a great job! Staff was friendly, honest and very helpful. I would recommend this shop to anyone who wants a professional repair done on their vehicle. Grant the shop manager was fantastic and willing to do what is needed to give us complete satisfaction. 5 Stars for Bob's Service Center! Keep up the excellent work!
