After paying Costco Tires $56 to install and program a new set of TPMS sensors in my 2009 Kia Borregeo, the TPMS warning light was still on. They told me I needed to drive the car for 15 minutes or more at 30mph or more in order to "reset" the TPMS error lights. So, I drove it on the freeway to Coeur d' Alene and back (40 miles each way) and the TPMS warning lights didn't reset. So, after a little research, I downloaded and printed the TPMS reset procedure from Kia, and took it back to Costco Tire. The procedure I downloaded said to scan the TPMS sensors and then connect the scanner to the OBDII port to upload the sensor ID's to the car's computer. The Costco "technician" brought out a scan tool and scanned all 4 of the new TPMS sensors. I looked at tool they were using, which didn't have an OBDII cable to connect it to the car's computer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked the "technician" how he was going to upload the new TPMS sensors RFID's to the car's computer and he gave me a blank "deer in the headlights" look.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I explained that scanning the RFID's of the new sensors was only the first step in the process, and that in order for the car's computer to recognize the scanned RFID's for the new sensors, he had to somehow upload the scanned RFID's of the new sensors to the car's computer. I asked him how he was going to accomplish that if his scanner couldn't be connected to the car's computer. Again, I got a blank look and he said "I don't know... our scanner works with the brand of TPMS sensors we sell, and we program the sensors before we install them in the tires." FWIW, that answer makes NO sense. The scanner has to connect with the computer in the car SOMEHOW to upload the RFID's of the sensors, or the car's computer ISN'T going to recognize the signals it receives from the new sensors. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I tried to explain this concept to the Costco Tire "technician" a couple of different ways, but he just wasn't "getting it".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So, at that point I gave up on trying to educate the Costco Tire "technicians" on how TPMS system technology works. I decided it was a waste of time and I left Costco. On my way home I decided to stop by the Tire O Rama on Sprague. When I walked in, I asked Josh, the guy at the counter "Do you have a TPMS scanner that can connect to the OBDII port of my car to upload the scanned RFID's of a new set of TPMS sensors?" His reply was "we sure do". I explained the issue I had with Costco Tire and he said "hang on, let me grab my scanner". After he retrieved the TPMS scan tool, Josh and I walked out to my Borrego, and he scanned all 4 TPMS sensors in under 2 minutes, and then he connected the scan tool to the OBDII port of my car. He pushed a couple of buttons on the scan tool, and within about 3 - 4 minutes he had uploaded the RFID's of the new TPMS sensors to the car's computer and also cleared the TPMS error codes to make the TPMS warning lights go out. I was VERY impressed. Josh obviously understood how a TPMS system works and what it takes to fix TPMS error codes. When I asked Josh "what do I owe you?" he said, "nothing, don't worry about it". [[HIGHLIGHT]]What an INCREDIBLE customer service experience![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Josh was very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Give that young man a raise! I can guarantee you that I will NEVER go back to Costco Tire. From now on Tire O Rama will be my "go to" for tires or tire-related work or repairs! read more

Took my 2012 Nissan in for an estimate on replacing ignition coil and spark plugs, having already used an OBD2 scanner to ascertain the computer codes. Tire Rama required me to pay $120 for them to plug in their OBD2 scanner to provide an estimate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What choice did I have? This place was referred by a friend.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Dealership had already quoted $1k, which seemed ridiculously high for spark plugs and ignition coils. Tire Rama quoted $935. So, we decided to find a less expensive alternative. After driving away, we discovered they cleared the computer code so we really couldn't get another estimate. And, a few miles down the road, the car started to smell of gasoline. So, not only did I pay to find out what I already knew, but also to have them damage the vehicle, too. read more

I went in for a OIL change and rotate tires. What I got was a Synthetic oil change, there was no mention of synthetic, I did not want synthetic! My vehicle only has 16,000 miles. Synthetic is about twice the price but that's not what really irked me, like I said I did not want synthetic! [[HIGHLIGHT]]So then on the tire rotation I told Josh I wanted the rear tires moved to the front because they had more tread, he said OK.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I got home and looked at the receipt and saw the synthetic I thought WHY. So at that point I thought I better go take a look at the tires, the ones with the least tread were still on the back! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called to discuss these issues and they said he would be in on Tuesday. I called him this Tuesday morn. and he stated that was the only oil they have in 0W20is synthetic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Why did he not tell me that when I dropped it off? I would of went elsewhere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So then I told him about the tires not rotated the way I asked, he said they were. I said NO because the tires with the least tread were still on the back! And that I knew the wheel that had been on the right rear was now on the left rear, I could tell by a scratch on the wheel. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked if I could bring it in and show him and he said NO, that he did not want to see it again.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Way to run your business, if you want to run it out of business! You know with all the other competitors around just down the road, Les Schwab, discount tire, etc. I just feel these boys here don't get enough credit. Before I get to the great service I had here today, I want to call out that they have the nicest restroom I have been in at a tire store. Not something I worry about, but was pleasantly surprised how clean and nicely decorated the men's room was. Not that I plan on holding a party here or anything, but the effort to keep the restroom nice is indicative of their commitment to customers in general. Ok, the important stuff. Tires. NEVER a fun shopping expedition. Matt and Harold at the front desk are extremely upbeat, and don't go out of their way to sell you the highest end tire in the catalog. Instead, they ask what sort of use your vehicle goes through, and they present you with several options. Including value priced choices that won't bankrupt you. And they don't harp on one brand over all others (Are you listening, Les Schwab?). Good quality service, fair price, and pretty speedy turnaround. Definitely will be back here. read more

Okay... Come on I get it. Everyone is trying with COVID and all that entails. Hence why we opted to stick with a more local company to have routine truck maintenance done after previous years fiascos with the Dakota. Fast forward, the regional manager made good and we opted stick with tire-rama after getting a new truck. Codes popped A146, easy enough through a Google search. It's the 100k maintenance. Call and make an appointment, which I will own I was late for. So it's not my goal to be a mega Karen, but after walking two miles back to get my truck I find out only the oil and the spark plugs were changed. Even after I explained when dropping it off what needed to be done. No belts replaced, no tires rotated, no rear differential serviced. Was told I could come back and have the rest done another time?! What? Why did you reset all the codes on dash when you did a quarter of the required work? Then made me make an appointment and charged me 60 bucks more than what jiffy lube would have done without an appointment. I was literally going to THROW money at you, since I imagine all those things take time and you didn't even listen or have the techs read the codes on the truck. I was avoiding big chain Honda shops but I guess since it wasn't done correctly this time, I'll have to throw money at them. Deals on tires are still good though, I'll give you that but we can no longer have our vehicles serviced there. Edit: just looked at invoice. WRONG OIL WAS PUT IN TO BOOT. read more

Been taking my car here for tires for years they have a good insurance deal for your tires in case you run over something and get a flat they'll repair it or replace it it's good for me I live on a dirt road and always seem to get nails stuck in my tires. Also they have always been honest with me when I don't need to replace something just yet, they know that's the key to return business because when something does need replaced I'll come to them instead of my dealer who will want to do a bunch of unnecessary junk and charge me hundreds of dollars. This is the only location I got to on Sprague next to the Valley library, I have had awful experience at others and never once a bad experience here in all the times I've been over the years. NO STARS! Worst place for an oil change!!!! Took our Durango here a few months ago and brought it home it was leaking oil turned out they didn't tighten the oil pan plug!! Just took our Toyota RAV4 there because it's convenient to work and then drove to tricities to spend the night on our way to Portland for my sons soccer tournament. Started out this morning and car was making a weird noise and leaking oil. Was able to get it in right away in Kennewick and turns out they had pinched the gasket and we were down to a quart of oil!!These guys are lucky they're not buying me a new engine right now!!!!! read more

Plus buy 3 oil changes and your 4th one is free. I bought tires here a year ago and they are still in great shape. They always remind me to rotate them, which helps a lot. Came in to get tires, I was expecting a longer wait but they took my wheels and got them on real quick!

my complaint is about the Liberty Lake store. I called for a price to take the wheels & tires off one car and put them on a different one and visa versa. Also had slow leak in one tire and was told its $15 if they repair a leak and $20 for switch ---which was fine. The total charge was $57and change. I asked why and told the tire didn t have hole but the bead was leaking--easy fix and the quote was for ONE car. What did he think I d do with the other car? Deceptive to say the least -- dishonest to say the most. I strongly protested and reminded him about the phone quote. After awhile he relented and charged the quoted price. Needless to say I will NEVER go back. Fitting they bought Altons stores ---NO change in business dishonesty!!! read more
