DO NOT GO HERE. IF YOU WANT TO GET SCAMMED!!! Took my car in on Thursday, yesterday at 8:00am to see what was wrong with it because it has been acting up. Mind you It turned on, drove and was working perfectly fine before I brought it in. Didn't hear from the until later in the day. They had told me they haven't figured anything out yet and that they will have it overnight. The next day comes, Friday 12:00pm I get a call from the store. They told me that they couldn't find what was wrong with my car and now my car won't start, they said they tried everything and told me they wanted $500.. for my car that won't start at all now. This is not okay. Being a young woman in 2023 with prices going up on everything it's hard to find a car. I got this car not even a year ago from a nice family, Nothing was wrong with it at all when I bought it until a few months later it starts acting up. I've been going place to place trying to figure out what is wrong and every place I go does not know. Until I came here. And now my car is even more fucked up than it was before.. If something doesn't need to be repaired, or can be held off awhile, they always let me know. Prices are reasonable and they explain things in a way I can understand. Whoa! So far Brendan was a breath of fresh air. I took my sons 2007 Jeep Wrangler to the local Jeep dealership to fix a knob that selects the direction of air flow to the defrost/front/feet locations of the vehicle. After a day at the dealership I was told that the work would not be waranteed and it would cost $2K+ and that it needed brakes and shocks. I found Martin's via yelp and boy am I glad. He called me and told me that the jeep needed one cable, not 4, and that it would be done the next day for $238! Umm, Thank you! They also said brakes were still good, but that the shocks were leaking a bit and would need shocks soon. I will update you when I get the Jeep back. But so far, I'm so glad that I called. read more

We were were passing thru spokane on a family trip, when our car developed a vibration in the front end. I called Martins first thing the next morning and they got us in as soon as we could get there. The diagnosed the problem, and got it fixed in a very timely manner. That was a couple months ago, and we've had no issues with their work. Their prices were more then fair, especially considering the fact that they moved some stuff around and got us in immediately to get us back on the road. I couldn't recommend them more!! In my opinion, it is very difficult to find a trustworthy mechanic in Spokane. After a bad experience (and high quote of $600) elsewhere, I looked to Triple A to recommend an honest mechanic. I went with Martin's because it is relatively close to my neighborhood. Their parking lot is fairly small, but there is plenty of street parking in a residential area along side of the shop. When I went in mid-day, it was really busy and they said they couldn't get to my Rodeo until the next day. Which I am glad they were up front and honest about, instead of making me wait and wait for a phone call. Also, they brought up that I was welcome to leave my car there during the night--which I did because of my work schedule. The guy at the desk was polite, but to the point. As a disclaimer, I did provide what I hoped was the correct part, which I obtained online for $175.95 including all shipping and handling fees. The next day, the work was done by 9 AM and cost just $59.12 total! Part + shipping + diagnostic + labor was STILL $364.93 under the estimate at the other shop. I have only one partial complaint: When I brought my car in, they never offered up an estimate in writing or over the phone. A couple weeks before they had quoted me $70 for labor and $200-ish for the part. Also, I never asked for an estimate when I got there--and maybe he remembered my car/problem from that phone call a couple weeks before? Anyway, the price was so stellar--that' not getting an estimate is small details. I'm glad I found a place I can trust in town, and I will go back if my car has any other problems. read more

With my wife having a car that broke down within a day of moving back to Spokane, we were desperate - the tow truck was coming, and we needed somewhere to take it. Open Yelp. Find a 5-star mechanic. Give the driver the address. Pray like hell the three reviews were good. And yes, they were. Had the car towed to Martin's the afternoon before Thanksgiving. They weren't sure they'd get to it then, but they managed to work us in (thankfully). They said they spent a couple hours on it, but couldn't actually find or duplicate a problem. So they left the keys in it and told us to pick it up when we could. No charge whatsoever. That'll earn you a bit of trust... When the problem on the car got worse and worse, we took it back, since the issue was no longer intermittent. They had it for a couple days, but called us back and told us it was ready. They said it was a weird set of problems (two things actually contributed to our issue), and we got out of there for $250. Which was fantastic, since it took them a while, and we were afraid for the car's life. Great place, and I'd take a car back there in a heartbeat. And recommend them to all my friends. read more

I needed to find an alternative to the expensive service I was getting at my car dealership. My son's car was vibrating when braking, so I took it to Martin's Auto Service, fearing I'd end up paying $600 or more for a full brake job (as I'd just done for my own vehicle), and I was delighted to find out the car had warped rotors and the job would cost $99. I'm grateful the mechanics were honest about the extent of the repairs needed. In today's world consumers can't take this kind of integrity for granted. Our family had been taking cars to Martin's for a while. When our daughter was preparing for a cross country move, she took her car to Martin's for pre-trip preventative and routine maintenance. Unfortunately, when they replaced the timing belt and water pump, something went badly wrong. Before the trip to the east coast, she drove toward Salem to visit a friend. In Portland, the engine seized on I 84. I understand mistakes happen, but Brad Martin denied that the problem could be as bad as the Portland mechanic described it (valves lying on top of the pistons, engine seized). He refused to contact his insurance, and her insurance did not cover damage to her own car. More than a week after her car failed, he begrudgingly gave her his insurance information to file a claim. He lied to his insurance about what happened, her phone number and a few other things. Two weeks later, she finally contacted an adjustor who listened to her complete story, asked for receipts for work done and promised to investigate. It is now almost two months after her car stopped working. She is still waiting for the promised payment from his insurance. It will cover the cost of her old car, but not the money she gave Martin's to work on it over the last six months. It will cover some, but not all of the costs of returning home from Portland and the additional costs related to her cross country move without her car. To cap it off, we drove across the country in my car. When I asked Martin's to change the oil and check everything before the trip, (before he showed his true colors) he left the lug nuts loose (all 16 of them) and neglected to mention that I needed new tires, new front brakes and new air filters, all of which I replaced on the trip. In addition, I replaced 4 wheel studs which were damaged by the loose lug nuts and two wheels because one was damaged by the loose lug nuts. Nobody in Missoula, Montana had a spare Honda alloy wheel around. When I came home, Martin's did reimburse those expenses, but only because he knew how much trouble he had caused our family already. read more

These guys are angels! I'd previously been a customer here just for oil changes, but last week my car started making a funny noise just before I was about to head off on a road trip. I'm sure they were busy but someone took a test drive with me first thing in the morning to listen for the problem, and checked around for any red flags. I left, but still felt unsure. I realized the car was running through coolant, and brought it back an hour later. They immediately saw I had a cracked radiator, and I was definitely not about to drive to Oklahoma like that. They were able to get the part and do the work the same day! And, the total bill ended up being significantly LESS than the estimate AND the car was ready at least 2 hours before they told me to expect it.
