These guys are angels! I'd previously been a customer here just for oil changes, but last week my car started making a funny noise just before I was about to head off on a road trip. I'm sure they were busy but someone took a test drive with me first thing in the morning to listen for the problem, and checked around for any red flags. I left, but still felt unsure. I realized the car was running through coolant, and brought it back an hour later. They immediately saw I had a cracked radiator, and I was definitely not about to drive to Oklahoma like that. They were able to get the part and do the work the same day! And, the total bill ended up being significantly LESS than the estimate AND the car was ready at least 2 hours before they told me to expect it. Not satisfied at all with these guys. Took two weeks for them to look at my vehicle when I was told 3-4 days. They lost engine components which I had to replace. After getting my vehicle back check engine and service lights both on. Had to take my car to another shop to be fixed correctly. I don't recommend this business. read more

Martin's Auto was the shop I took my vehicle to for nearly all maintenance in 2016 after my regular mechanic passed away. I am still regretting my decision to have them work on my vehicle in that short time. Here is my experience with this shop: 1. Martins replaced my serpentine belt in February 2016. It failed in July that same year and was replaced under warranty. 2. Martins replaced my radiator in August 2016. In September 2017 the radiator failed. My new mechanic explained that Martins had failed to replace the radiator isolator with that repair and my new radiator had a hole in it from the cooling fan shroud rubbing against it. Unfortunately, this occurred ONE MONTH outside of the 1 year warranty, so I had to fork out an additional $400 to get another new radiator. 3. Martins replaced my water pump in February 2016. That water pump failed this week (2019) and now I have to get it replaced (about $400). All of this considered I am sincerely disappointed in this business. Nearly everything they did to my vehicle cost me double. I hope that my experience inspires others to take their business elsewhere. read more

Finding a trustworthy mechanic is a remarkable discovery. These guys are not only trustworthy, but efficient and reasonably priced! You gotta love it! They fixed a leaking transmission for me, replaced u-joints that were waking the neighbors, replaced a worn out drag link, and replaced nearly every part of my 35 year old brake system on time, below quoted price, and respected my need for fast turnaround. Traveling and needed to stop and get a heater core quick-disconnect changed out. Martin's was very busy but they prioritized getting me back on the road. They estimated 2 hours, which I thought was already awesome if they could do it, but then they had it done in just over an hour! They have a sign over the door in the office joking about customers wanting them to drop everything they are doing just to solve their particular problem, but in this case it felt like they really did that. Pretty upset with this place. Bought a ford explorer from a private party, and the motor would make some noise in the morning when id start it up, to me sounded like the timing chain. So i took it in to martins, who my parents recommended, and dropped it off. After a couple of days, got a call, and was told the bearings on the camshaft were bad, and it needed a new motor. So i did it.....$4,600. Everything was fine. About a month later, started leaking alot of transmission fluid, took it into martins. Told me i needed to rebuild the transmission, so i did it. This is all within 2 months of buying the vehicle. With that said, i was fine with replacing the motor and trans. But ever since the motor has been replaced, it has leaked oil. Brought it back, they fixed it. Still leaked oil. Brought it back again, they fixed it, still leaking oil. So i called 2 weeks ago, and its nothing but a run around about when they can look at it. A guy quit, and they're short handed, and it would be 2 weeks before they look at it. Fine. But this is the real reason im writing this right now. My mom, who recommended me to this shop, just had her jeep liberty in there because it just stopped running last week. She took it to martins. 2 days 3 days go by. She calls to check on her car, never gets a call back. Then they call her, and says it needs a new motor, timing chain went out, and when they ask her who was the last shop to look or work on her car, she tells them, they (martins) just replaced the timing chain, it was maybe 3-4 years ago. They tell her they have no record of it........ But they didn't charge here a dime for diagnostic..... Talked to my mom tonight, and she's looking at the invoice. Bottom line, ill continue seeing martins for warranty work on my motor and transmission, ill never use them again. My parent have been usiing them for 20 years, and they'll never go back. Stand behind your work if your going to do business in the automotive industry. If the timing chain was out of warranty, so be it. Dont tell a customer, no we didnt work on it, we show no history, when she has an invoice from your shop. Maybe come up with a better way to track your customers invoices so you can take care of your customers. read more

I keep my car in excellent condition. I recently moved to Spokane and wanted to have my car checked out before a very long up-coming road trip. I absolutely dread trying to find an honest, reliable mechanic. I fully expected them to tell me I needed work done (don't they all say this?) even though, as said above, I keep my car in excellent condition. I waited for my car a very short time. They told me it was in excellent condition and needed nothing now, but that in the future I'd need to change my serpentine belt. I had had this done on the coast and it cost me (with a tune up) about $500. I let them know it had been done a few years ago and they said it looks like it's never been changed. I was still doubtful and asked how much it was going to cost, expecting to be told many hundreds, but was told it would be less than a hundred, INCLUDING labor. I thought they were joking. I told them to go ahead and do it. It was completed in a very short time and the cost with labor, taxes, etc was under $100. I told them the cost for having this done on the coast and they said #1 They doubted it had been done, and #2 I had been ripped off (paying $500). Since then, I have told several people about this and they all smile and say Martin's is the ONLY place they'll take their car. Don't let the dive look of the place keep you away: This place is trustworthy, has very reasonable/low prices, and I will not go anywhere else! read more

Well, driving into and walking into this shop, the smell made me confident that my car was going to be in the hands of people who just love cars. The waiting room was laughable (glad I had not showered), BUT that did not matter because Brandon and the other mechanics were so nice, informative, honest, efficient, and just good guys--Good guys who know cars and understand the purpose of business is to meet a need in the community. I went there after I knew the subaru dealership service center was recommending me something my car did not need (transmission flush), and Yelp reviews convinced me to drive up Monroe. The parking lot was packed with cars ready to be picked up, and as I waited for the check and new brakes, several satisfied people from all backgrounds came and went. Everyone was so decent to each other. Also, my back brakes work great and were replaced with a fair price! I am planning to go back in six months to get the front brakes rechecked after the winter. read more

Amazing service. I brought my 2009 tundra in to have them do a radiator flush, a transmission flush, check all the fluids, and replace anything that needed work. I came back a couple hours later, and they had lubricated the driveshaft and spent about a half an hour verifying all of the fluids and all of the fluids were good. Total cost zero dollars. Used to be a customer and referred a lot of family and friends to them. Spent THOUSANDS of dollars at their shop with our 2 vehicles over the years... Pricing kept creeping up and problems were not being fixed long term. Suspicious but continued to get our vehicles serviced there. However, attitude changes everything. If you even mention you got a 2nd opinion on one of your vehicles that was serviced here they will belittle you and hang up on you. Either they got new mechanics that don't know what they're doing or management is siding with their people rather than the customer. Not sure what happened to this place but we are not going back and will relay the message to others. read more

I told them that I needed break pads replaced because I was hearing a scuffing/scraping noise coming fro my front breaks. They set a date to bring my car in. They kept my car for 4 days After inspecting, they said that my breaks were at 50 percent and didn't need to be replaced. They did however replace a CV joint. Fine. I got my car back, and still was hearing the noise. I went back and they had a tech ride in my car. He said " sounds like a break problem". Instead of working me into the rotation to replace my breaks( considering this was what I had asked for in the first place), he told me that there were 25 cars ahead of me. Understandably frustrated, I went to another mechanic, they replaced my break pads( I watched them do the work, and low and behold, my break pads were WAY below 50 %. In fact, the pad was so thin that the steel tab was scarping a groove into the disk. These guys used to do good work. their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Disappointed, after reading all the positive reviews. Was experiencing low oil pressure at warm idle on my jeep. We had replaced the oil pressure sending unit, told them we had replaced it, and was still having the same low oil pressure issue. They told us they would put a mechanical gauge on it, test the pressure and would call in a couple hours to let us know what they found out. After 4 hours I called, was told it was done and that they replaced the oil sending unit and it was reading fine now. I asked if they had let it warm up to see if the oil pressure dropped at warm idle and was told yes. Was told it was just a bad sending unit we had purchased. By the time I drove it home, the oil pressure was reading low again at idle. So I got took for $104 and all they did was replace the part we told them we replaced. They did not take the time to try to diagnosis the problem, did not call to let us know what they thought was the problem, and did not call when it was finished. It is so hard to find a repair shop you can trust, and I would not recommend this one. Really disappointed. read more
