I've been going there since I moved to Spokane in 2019 and all throughout my time, they have made it a point to give fair and honest evaluations of my old Subaru, e.g., "this can wait, this needs to be fixed now, etc." Recently my wheel bearings went out and were 1000 miles over warranty on the part, a cost of $1400 to replace. Instead of charging me for new bearings, Nef, Juan, and the crew ate the cost because "it didn't seem right" to charge me for something so close to warranty. Thanks to Nef's auto I was able to get my car in within two days to get my a/c serviced. Everywhere else had a least a week long wait, but they scheduled me in right away and worked on it quickly. Unbelievably upset. I called before hand to ask how much my service would be and was quoted at $35. Because of this low price I chose to go there and wait longer than told. When I got there I was told it would only take an hour to do the service. After an hour, I was told 20-25 minutes. Another hour later is when I got my car. I was charged $90. Then when I got into my car, it reeked of smoke. I had to drive with my windows down. Extremely disappointed considering the other reviews. read more

So here's the scenario. I was at our little neighborhood convenience store looking for the number of the backyard mechanic who posted a flyer on their door a few weeks ago. I needed my breaks checked and replaced. The owner of the store gave me a business card for Nef's Auto Repair instead. I called the next morning and got in within an hour for an oil change and brake check. Now keep in mind, I'm the typical single mom bringing in a 25 year old car. It's a good car, but being as old as it is, it would be very easy to talk me out of a bunch of money in order to fix it up. I was told that my brakes should be replaced, but I have a couple months of wear left on the pads. That was huge to me. I was treated like a person and not a dollar sign. Fast forward a few days. My alternator, which had been acting up finally gave up the ghost. I got my car back to Nef's. Once the hood was opened, it was very apparent that my water pump had just died a messy death as well. I dropped my car off at 9am with no appointment and my car was fixed by 3pm! All at a very reasonable price. I can't believe my luck in finding a repair shop I can trust; where I'm really listened to and not being scammed into having things fixed that weren't broken to begin with. This place really earned all of my future business. If you don't have a regular mechanic or are not satisfied with your current repair shop, I highly recommend Nef's Auto Repair. I asked them to look at the engine and it's extremities to find out why it dies after driving 50 miles ot eventually got down to only 20 miles. They replaced a part and charged me 418 and it was still doing this. They said bring it in for 1200 we'll replace the throttle body and you'll be good to go. At this point I did not trust them so I had my boyfriend change the throttle body. That was not the problem. We asked around and it was the mass airflow sensor. Easy fix $40 part. I'm just saying they were going to charge me 1200 and my car still would not have been running properly. They already charged me 418 for my car to not run properly. I'm glad I could get it fixed but I can't believe I would be duped into fixing things that do not need to be fixed. read more

My husband and I got stranded with car problems when traveling through Spokane. We were referred to Nef's auto from a local service place. We had our car towed to the shop which was going to be closed by the time we arrived but they have a drop off box for keys which is nice. To our surprise when we arrived the owner Neftali was still at the shop. He opened garage door and let us bring the car in. Neftali actually offered to stay and work on our car to get the job done that night. This was GREAT news to us, so kind of him to offer. Once he looked into the problem we had a few more things missing than expected to repair the vehicle. Unfortunately the missing part had to come from a jeep dealer or junk yard. By this time it is to late to call around so Neftali was going to start looking for part first thing in the morning. We were going to grab a cab to the hotel but Neftali kindly offered us a ride, which was greatly appreciated. Next day Neftali called us in the morning and found the part at the car dealer in Seattle. Knowing nothing could be done today we waited for next day hoping part would arrive and we would be back on the road soon. Next day the dealership did not get delivery of part and next delivery was going to be in a few days. Neftali called around and found the part at a junk yard from a car that was just brought in. He got the part and had everything installed by 1pm we were ready to go :). The price was great especially for the time and effort he put into finding this part to get us back on the road.
