We had a great experience here. My husband who was a mechanic in the service was just at his end trying to figure out what was going on with the his truck. After many fixes I ended up calling the place my insurance used to fix my car and they recommended Silverlake. It's where they take all their mechanical issues and that's was the best recommendation. They did the diagnostic, kept us informed, let us know the price and any changes allowing the way and after some deep searching figured out the problem. It's been a few months and the truck is doing great. My husband was really happy with the service and we recommend them to everyone now. Great service, friendly people and fair prices read more

I had service work done at their new shop in Sagle and honestly the quality of work is far superior to the shops I visited in Sandpoint. Extremely honest, they give accurate quotes and stand by their work. Their prices are in line with other shops but their work is most definitely superior. If you need work they are not equipped to do, they happily refer you to someone who can (very rare in the Sandpoint area). read more

We have used them for our past vehicles, i.e. BMW. And we will continue to use them! straightforward local auto mechanics, which is hard to find in this day and age. read more

Not at all amused by their lack of care and knowledge, it seems that the only thing they wanted to discuss was the various methods of non-service read more

Efficient, even moved my appointment up when someone no showed. Excellent service and the costs are competitive.

Updates They said the transmission in my car was grinding and needed to be replaced and would be $6k. That's almost four months pay for me. I got a second opinion from another shop who said transmission was fine it was a grounding wire and fixed it in 30 minutes. I wrote an honest review of this place and they reported it and had it removed. I came here in the first place because of all good reviews. Well not only did they try and cheat me they had my review removed to hide what they did and boost their ratings. So now they are cheats and dishonest. How shameful. I'm sure this will be flagged again but I already told my friends coworkers church what they did. read more

I recently had a lot of work done on my 2013 Ford Explorer with roughly 125,000 miles. The water pump was leaking and on this particular engine the water pump is internal and driven by the timing chain. This means what would normally be a minor repair, is a major project. I had them replace all of the timing components including chain, sprockets, tensioners and variable valve timing solenoids. I had them do a few other things as well (plugs, tires, rear brakes, ac service). They were fine with my car much sooner than I expected. They went way over and above to keep me informed and to build trust and confidence. Their genuine desire to build a relationship with their customers, and to treat people will is sisterly in every interaction I had from start to finish. My car runs amazing. Great job! read more

Silverlake has always gone above and beyond to repair and find solutions to complex issues while providing best in class service at an affordable price. Have never had to go to dealership since I discovered them. They are simply the best. read more

They are friendly, courteous and respond well to questions. They did a good job on servicing my vehicle.

I had an accident, slid on a sheet of ice sideways into a curb. I had it towed to Silverlake. They promised to fix what they could see, test drive it and make sure nothing else was broken. They called saying I bent a couple tierods and broke the rear control arm. I picked up my car after hours and the 2 minute drive home I knew that it was not driving normal. My whole car would shake when pressing on the brakes and every time I hit a bump my car would automatically over-correct almost sending me off the road on several different occasions. I took it back to the shop a couple days later, upset stating that I was told everything was fixed and it was NOT. They put it on the alignment rack and said everything was fine. I kept driving it until I could find a mechanic to look at my car. So I recently took it in and my control arm was literally almost completely fallen off and there was a zip tie attached to it...holding... nothing? These people literally just want your money and to emphasize that they have all these certifications is bazaar to me. Absolutely zero stars. read more

Excellent customer service - Nicki (sp?) recently did a post-purchase inspection for us and talked us through the entire report that we received via email, with pictures and explanations and everything! Very helpful. We'll be taking our other car back in next week for A/C repair, and she was able to give me a clear idea of what the cost would like at the top end if a full kit was needed. That's always appreciated, to know what the damage might be at the outset. They're very friendly when I went in, and we'll gladly take our vehicles here for servicing as long as they're in business! I just wish they did body work and upholstery as well! I've already recommended them to friends. read more

This rating does NOT reflect their friendliness or the quality of their work. The staff is very friendly but I've only received diagnostic service not repair service. This rating is for communication and staffing. I called on a Monday, described the problem I was experiencing and told them the exact problem. They said that the soonest they could get me in was a week from Wednesday, 10 days later, due to staffing problems. This is somewhat to be expected in August so I scheduled an appointment. Showed up on Wednesday at 0800, expecting to get the vehicle repaired. Received a call at approximately 1400 with the results of a diagnostic and an estimate and was told that the soonest they could get me in was next Wednesday (another 7 days) and that it would take 2-3 days to repair it. This would put it at 19-20 days since I first called before I could expect it to be repaired. I picked up the car and was billed ~$75 for the diagnostic of the problem that I already identified. I took the car to another mechanic the same day and he said he could get to it the next day, it took him longer than he planned but he still had the car completed by Friday (2 days) and charged 1/3 the price of the estimate that I received from Silverlake Automotive. I don't like leaving poor reviews and suspect that, under other circumstances, I may have had a better encounter. Price, promptness and failure to set expectations on the first call are all contributing factors to this review. read more

The Manager of the store stands behind the work performed. So with that they get 5 stars!

Go see Nicci in post falls she is so helpful and kind. Will do anything to help you with your vehicle. She has helped me many times with three different vehicles. Always kind, always knowledgeable and willing research to make sure they get it right. We Only trust this company with our vehicles. I could easily go to the dealership and not pay for the oil changes and a few other maintenance things. But I choose to go to Silverlake automotive instead because I just prefer them over anyone else. read more

Great automotive service. Affordable, and even a follow up text the next day to see how my car was running.

A super great team at this location! My car was back and forth for a bit with weird issues. But they finally got to the bottom of it all and were very decently priced. I don't live near there but will continue to use them for our automotive needs! read more

We brought our newly purchased 2005 Honda Pilot to this location to have the 58 point comprehensive vehicle inspection, an oil change, have them diagnose the airbag light on the panel, and look into why the drivers seat wouldn't go back any further. From the moment we made our appt. with Nicci (to bring our vehicle there) we felt confident that our vehicle would be in good hands. On the day we dropped our car off we explained all of the issues and both Nate and Nicci listened to our concerns about the couple of issues we had with the vehicle. Nicci brought us back to our home and within less than three hours we had a detailed written report regarding the results of the inspection. Only one red item came up in the report and we had them take care of it that day. When we went back that afternoon to pick up our vehicle, Nicci had made the effort to call the local Honda Dealer and confirmed that the left front seat buckle switch maybe covered under their lifetime warranty. Which saved us some money. We were given a detailed written estimate on the items that we will need to be repaired in the near future. Everything was explained to us clearly and confirmed that our first conversation with the shop, that our car was in good hands by a group of professionals that care about their customers and doing a great job. We look forward to a long relationship with this shop and will be recommending them to all of our friends and family. Susan and Jerry A. read more
