I went there to pick it up and ended up with a 5.5lb flat iron roast also. It's a pain to trim down the flat iron, but so worth it. As much as I love Japanese beef, I find A5 to be overwhelming. I prefer crossbred wagyu because the marbling is there, but not as excessive as eating a stick of butter. This full blooded US raised wagyu is definitely "eatable". I'd say the grade of what I got was--definitely more than A2, probably A3 or more. Definitely enjoyable as a whole steak. I definitely will come back to this butcher shop when the next time I'm in town.

You can see where we stood in the picture I posted of the shops' entrance. A group had been standing in the exact same spot just before us, so we didn't think we were in anyone's way. We also didn't realize this area was shared with the butcher shop because 1. we didn't see it 2. we are not Seattle locals and only came for Eggslut. My boyfriend's little brother briefly leaned back against the meat shop's display case, and the owner immediately snapped: "Do me a favor and get your butt off my case." His brother got off the case right away, but the owner continued to mutter "fucking rude". He stared us down and started shooing us away with his hands, literally saying "Get." like we were animals. We stepped aside, but he kept staring us down. I asked him, "What are you looking at? What do you want us to do?" He escalated things further and said: "Do you want me to come find your house?" Absolutely inexcusable to say to anyone, let alone a young woman. When my boyfriend said, "You could have been nice about it." He said, "I don't have to." This wasn't just a reminder about his equipment, it was the tone, the hostility, and the lack of basic respect. No one came into the building after us, so we were not obstructing anyone from going to his business. We were simply waiting for our food and were met with aggression from this man. He does not deserve any business after such a lack of basic decency.

Wow. If you are looking for smoked or cured fish as a souvenir from Seattle, you better put down…read morethat kitschy boxed stuff and come here! The fish here tastes and smells like the high quality, flavorful, well-made stuff it is. The fish looks beautiful too. They let us try the regular smoked salmon, the garlic, and the candied. All superb. Be warned the candied stuff - heck, all of them are addicting. The cost may seem high, but it is completely justified. You aren't getting bottom of the barrel keta (translated from native tongue to "dog") fish or "pink" salmon (only 1 tier up), you're getting fresh fish. There was no hint of gross "fishy" smell before or after eating. (To make your salmon last longer, may I suggest enjoying your salmon with rice and veggies, or in a sandwich?) They also sell high quality pork, beef, chicken, and other things in the freezer like sausage, duck, cheese. They also have pretty nicely priced wines for sale, from low $10s and up. Whites, reds, and bubblies. Highly recommend you make the side-tour to this joint for salmon. A fish dressed to impress that will win you praises.

As a deli, they actually have the best char siu (Chinese BBQ pork, pictured) out of any other place I've tried in the Seattle area. I'm not kidding, it's been the best for my family and me even after years of getting it and what even seemed like a change in staff behind the deli at one point. It could even compete with Kau Kau over in Chinatown! It's so juicy, doesn't leave a dry, sandy texture in your mouth while you're eating it, and has some slight burn marks in all the right places. The BBQ pork is sometimes kept near the hot foods area near the deli, and the staff can cut it for you whether you grab those portions or get them up at the deli counter. As a grocery store, they're not very huge but also means it's easier to find stuff. It's gone through a ton of changes over the years, and now the floor tiles are a darker color when they used to be white like the walls long ago. Their produce and dairy is usually very fresh whenever my mom and I get them here, and staff - some of whom I've seen working there since I was little - is very friendly. I don't live as close to here as I used to anymore, but I always think of this place whenever I pass by the area since it gives me a nice, nostalgic feeling, especially since I was born and raised in the Beacon Hill neighborhood.

It's a little high-end with all the bright lights and neatly placed grocery items but looks smaller from the inside. To be honest, I only came here to try The Cookie, which was something my friend recommended for me for the size and taste of their large cookies. We decided to quickly drop by here specifically for that, and I grabbed myself a chocolate chip cookie with nuts. Server behind the counter was very friendly and helpful, especially when I asked for another bag to keep the warm cookie fresh. For this cookie, you gotta split it between two days, or among more than that if you're health-conscious. There's so much sugary taste yet you never really get tired of eating it. The chocolate chips and the nuts complemented each other while also taking away some of the taste that the excess sugar in the cookie otherwise has. Cookie also melted in my mouth so well that I was tempted to ask my friend to drive back for another.

My bf reminds me of this store we randomly came across one day. It has what the store in Lakewood has but more grocery options. Cute and homey store. I spent about 30mins+ give or take shopping for the family. There are many options of trinkets, chocolates (alcohol ones too) , drinks, mustards, curry ketchups, gummy candy, bread, gravy etc. I did notice they don't carry any Maggie products for gravy and such. I know that was my bro's first question as he prefers that brand lol. The staff is really kind. The deli dude was patient with me as I told him I have a lot to order. I met the female owner and she's a sweetheart. The cashier lady was also so helpful as I couldn't find a specific brand candy. She pointed me in the right direction and luckily there was enough :) There's plentiful parking in the lot, and can get pretty cramped when busy as it's not a big store but has many options. My basket total in my picture provided is $255. My brother in law asked me to take them here next time they're in town as there's so much to look at.
