Erica summed it up best and I would agree... If you need auto-body work or repairs done anywhere in…read moreor near the DMV, this is the BEST quality work money can buy and their attention to detail will make the end results impeccable and flawless. We've brought 3 different vehicles here in the past 6 months and every one of them was dropped off pretty banged up and received back like it was brand new from the car dealership. What's most noteworthy is that they won't try to nickel and dime you or trump up exorbitant costs and fees. Instead, they're honest and straightforward and operate with a level of integrity that is truly unmatched. Pricing here was very fair and reasonable considering they are hands down, the best body repair shop we've ever used. I visited many body shops, read countless reviews, looked through hundreds of pictures, and asked a ton of questions before deciding which one I wanted to have do some repairs at Christmas time and the owner of this shop is truly what set Carbody apart from all the others. He worked tirelessly with the insurance adjusters to ensure the repairs were able to be completed with all the best quality parts and not just refurbished ones as well as went above and beyond our expectations by handling the interactions between our insurance company and the rental car provider he already had a corporate relationship / account with. Going through an accident can be stressful and frustrating, but getting to experience the amazing services and repair work from Carbody collision center was a great highlight from it all and I can't say enough kind words about Bob Gload and his family owned and operated for over 30 years, business team. We would never put our vehicles into the hands of another body shop after having work done from these guys. Lastly, while they are typically closed on weekends, Bob and his team even worked 7 days a week through COVID-19 to support essential workers through this pandemic which is a testament to their work ethic and commitment to helping our community. Highly recommend them!

Introduction to why I was here:…read more About to wrap up the 2nd of the two 2024 runner-ups now with C is for Carbody Collison Center, in alphabet series and will be getting to 2025 picks + runner-ups simultaneously. In October 2023 while on 495 on near the PG/Montgomery County border, hundreds of motorcyclists were causing chaos and very slow traffic on that Sunday gathering on the side blocking lane and lane splitting between the slow cars. This was insane and incredibly annoying. One of the motorcyclists rammed into my car while lane-splitting. He flipped his motorcycle. He picked up his motorcycle stumbled off to the side, and I tried to get the heck out of there as I didn't want to risk my safety with this awful motorcycle gang. Once I got to where I was going about 45 minutes later, I saw the damage, which wasn't horrible, but it wasn't just some minor nick. Visits here: That next day or two, I shopped around a bit in Laurel & North Laurel, and Carbody Collison had a better rate than the others. Also, Bob was kind and empathic to what happened. It wasn't urgent, but it could become a problem more so in winter because of snow/road salting as bottom part had to be replaced. I wanted to wait to see if insurance would go through, but they refused to cover it. Ultimately, that January 2024 we started the process, but it was going to take some time to get the part needed and would take them some time to do all the repairs. We agreed I'd drop the car off when I was going out of town; I rideshared to BWI airport. A week later I got back to town. Although they had agreed on finishing by then, there was something that was delayed even though we had agreed I come back that Friday afternoon, which I took a rideshare to get from my place to there, which isn't that far. Bob was nice enough to at least let me use a loaner car as I had a couple of other things I was doing, drove home, and then came back in the late afternoon. There was a bit of a tiff over windshield wipers they had replaced, which I thought was going to be cheaper, which I said I didn't agree to that much. He didn't want to continue to too much arguing and credited for either free or nominal price. I drove off to Columbia where I was going that evening. As I was driving back on MD-32 at US 1, I heard a loud noise like something was scrapping on the road. I got off at the next exit and went to the Savage MARC train station parking garage to see what was going on. I saw the piece hanging down. I snapped back in place, which got me home. But then the next day, I went down again, I stopped at a place in Laurel that I knew was open on Saturday. They did a temporary fix to get me through the weekend. I revisited on Monday, explained what happened. Bob apologized seeing what was going on; some screw was missing. He quickly got the staff to put back in while I waited there. In summary, Bob was overall nice & empathic except for a bit of heated discussion over price of an unrelated windshield wiper. I liked the price relative to other places (although I still didn't like as it wasn't cheap). They did a good job overall, but the missing bolt issue was annoying. They did a good job on timelines, but still a bit off on that, but at least got the loaner car for that afternoon as they were wrapping stuff up. This was mostly positive, and while there were some negatives, Bob did do a good job alleviating the negatives.

I had a very disappointing and frankly frightening experience with Total Recon. My 2014 Tesla Model…read moreS was towed here on October 3, 2025, after an accident. They gave me a repair estimate of $17,335.18 on October 15, which seemed reasonable, and I assumed work was being done. For over two months, I waited with no updates. Suddenly, on December 5, they emailed demanding the loaner back immediately and threatened a police report for "failure to return a rental vehicle." I called their rep (Alfonso), who said he would extend the loaner--he never followed up. That evening, the loaner was remotely disabled (Valet Mode) while I was driving, stranding me overnight in 20°F snowy/rainy weather on a busy DC street. I had to pay for towing myself to avoid freezing. The next morning (December 6), they called police (Rockville and Prince George's County), claiming I failed to return the rental. They also told officers my Florida license was "fake" or fraudulent. Police cleared me immediately. I repeatedly explained my disabilities (immune-compromised, OCD, ADHD, anxiety) and asked for accommodations to get my medication and belongings from the loaner (less than ¼ mile away at a friend's house). They refused and left me stranded without transportation or meds ever since. Now they demand over $14,000 in storage/rental fees--almost as much as the repair estimate--yet no work was ever done on my car. I have video, emails, bills, and records. This was unsafe, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Avoid if you value safety and clear communication.

TOTAL RIP-OFF! I was rear-ended while waiting at the…read morestoplight with my tesla model y. The only damage was on a small portion of the liftgate. They took over three weeks for the repair. We asked for a shorter time since it was my daughter's spring break. At first they said it was ok but then they changed their mind. They insisted on a minimum of three weeks. I think that they run a racket on the tesla loaners and charge the insurance with luxury rentals. Their main focus was to secure as much money they could procure for themselves ignoring all the requests of the customers. In total they took around $12,000 for a repair of less than $2000 for an average paint shop. (they tell everyone a minimum of three weeks!)

I scratched up my 2014 subaru imprezza while parking in a tricky garage in DC. It was through the…read morepaint, so I knew I had to get it repaired. Elite was recommended to me by a friend's brother who works at Bench Mark in Columbia - without any hesitation. The scratch was a few inches long, and went from rear door to rear panel and some of the bottom of the car. Small, but really badly located. The first time I went, they took a look at the car, gave me an estimate - it took about a half hour. When scheduling, keep in mind, like every car place in baltimore, they aren't open outside of normal business hours. You can pick up and drop off closer to 5, but estimates will need to be closer to 4. Second time was the drop off. The receptionist (very friendly and helpful) called Enterprise for me. A few things I learned: don't do a drop off on a Monday, Enterprise gets slammed that day. Call them in advance - it takes a while to get through. She was persistent though, and once they knew I was waiting, enterprise got me fast. Third time was the pick up. The car was waiting out front and the work was done really well. It looked like the scratch had never happened, and the windows had been immaculately cleaned. (Another thing to note: The fingernail scratches on the door and small scratches from the winter to the finish hadn't been touched by them - so consider paying extra to get your car back looking new, but don't expect it included if you're trying to save money.) Total cost was 1100 - a pretty penny (I'm not sure if this is good or bad), but for a new car it seemed worthwhile to get it done right. There is a %2 fee for paying with credit cards and a $500 limit on checks - so either bring cash, get creative with combining payments, pay with a debit card, get a cashier's check. I forgot my check, so the receptionist waived the fee for me - which was greatly appreciated since insurance wasn't involved. I was informed as I was waiting, that Enterprise can pickup the car from their lot. However, if your rental gets damaged while its left there, that's your responsibility, so I opted to wait for them to pick me up. All in all - it was a lot of money I didn't want to spend (just to get my car back to normal) but they did do a great job so I would recommend them to others.

It was right next to my work, which was good since I ended up having to go there so many times. They were friendly and professional, so I had high hopes going in. But overall, their performance was lacking. It took a couple weeks to order the door part, and then they said they needed a whole week to fix it, making it the longest repair I ever had besides a whole engine replacement. Ok, at least they let me know, but then at 3PM the day it was supposed to be done they called and said they weren't going to be done. Why did they just figure that out then when they had the car a whole week? I had paid for a rental car and was going have to pay for several more days over a weekend because of their last minute delay, and I asked them to cover the extra days because they missed their deadline and they refused. Well they finish the repair and it looks good, so I was ok with the experience if not thrilled. But, a couple weeks later my driver's side door won't open! I had to climb in from the other side! Pretty bad, so I take it back again, and they fix it. But a couple weeks later the same thing! They have fixed it again, but who knows if it will stay fixed? The car has been to the shop numerous times over almost three months. All this for a dented car door!
