It's nice and tender but *choke* could have used the sauce on the side. The Beef Ribs ($13.90): three big meaty ribs - you'll want to go for the beef ribs if you like a fuller flavor and feel like a cave man. Not overly sauced like the others, but it could also have used sauce on the side. The Curly Fries ($2.85): perhaps not worth the price given the small amount you get; however, this is one of the few places in town to get your curly fries fix! 3. SERVICE It's good for what is essentially a takeout window. There's typically a steady flow of customers but the kitchen staff keep up and you're not often waiting too long for your order. 4. ATMOSPHERE There are a number of picnic tables under the fluorescent lights to dine at; it's like eating at Rainbow's without being close to Hawaii. Decent meal, huge portions. I got the Beef ribs with fried scallops. Came with two scoops of rice and one side of mac salad. Beef was tender but not fall-off-the bone tender. As you eat, it becomes a bit dry too so I would ask for extra bbq sauce next time. The scallops were great with the white sauce. Too much for one meal, had to split it into two. This review is based on the food alone. It's not an appealing area to sit down and enjoy this scrumptious meal, but we did anyways because we were hungry. The marination on the mixed plate was on point. This was one of the best BBQ we have tried yet on the island. Most likely would take our food to go next time. 2nd time here and the Teri Chicken was once again on point. Crowds rush in, then things slow down. We took our food to go this time. The flavor of the kalbi goes all the way through. I'd ask for well done next time. I like that seared crispy sugarness on my kalbi when I grill. The wait was about five minutes when I got to the counter even though nobody was in line. They were playing catch-up with their orders which I could appreciate. Remembered eating here before and thinking "not bad" so decided to give it a shot. Got the Bob's meal which is a cheese burger deluxe with fried and a drink. Fries are nothing special. But the burgers are GREAT. Homemade parties with that bbq flavor and the vegitables are fresh and crisp. Everythig from the flavor to the texture and the appearance is great. Bob's is awesome. My husband and I are staying in Honolulu for three weeks to do some work and we've been gawking at the prices of everything here. We've seen what inflation has done to the prices of food in the past year, we live in Los Angeles! And yet, Bob's has great deals for takeout orders and catering. Not only are their prices amazing, their serving sizes are generous too! I've been to barbecue restaurants everywhere, from Texas, to Florida, and expensive ol' California, and none have impressed me with the flavors, selection, and serving sizes as much as Bob's. If you are looking for a heavy meal, Bob's is the place to be to satisfy your breakfast and late night needs! I ordered their kalua pork mini lunch plate which included a side of macaroni salad. I'd say the kalua pork was very soft, tender, and REALLY juicy but the rice ratio wasn't matched with my meat ratio so the balance was kind of off but still overall the food was very delicious! Something they need to work on is to clean their tables because almost all of them were dirty but if they're too busy then its understandable. Tip to customers: Let's be nice people and learn how to clean up after ourselves since were grown adults :) I will definitely come back and try out the other items on the menu~ read more

This spot is definitely a hole in the wall, but a hole in a lot.. it has a food truck vibe, kitchen/cashier parked in a corner parking lot with a few picnic-styled tables& benches scattered around. We got two combos shared between three girls, which was just enough! Each combo comes the a scoop of rice and a side of macaroni salad, corn, cole slaw, or salad. Mac salad comes standard but you can ask to substitute. The kalbi ribs were delicious. Great sweet bbq flavor and marinated just right. The combo ribs (beef & pork) had a tangy bbq taste. I enjoyed the street corner food truck vibe and the service was exceptionally quick. The portions were very generous and very appealing, but the chicken was too dry. I got there late in the afternoon, so I suspect that the chicken had been cooked earlier and had been sitting in a warming oven or tray for too long. I really wanted it to be the best ever! The macaroni side dish was yummy. The photos on the menu above the counter are tired and faded. They reminded me of menus at fast food joints in SE Asia. Their beef ribs are insane. For $15, they give you four giant ass ribs that are impossible for one person to eat. In addition to the mac salad and the rice, it makes for a great bargain dinner. Last Thursday my sister in law bought us plate lunches n chocolate malts . I went for the seafood mix Teri beef and shrimp plate my sister got the mini Teri pork plate and let me tell you how excellent it was the macaroni salad is the bomb, my Teri beef just perfect the shrimp was not dry either . The chocolate malt was the kicker best ice cream I've had in a while go get you some no joke. The wait was not too bad either maybe the most 5-7 minutes and we never call ahead. I would like to thank the crew who worked that day awesome job I will definately be back to feed my husband, son, and anyone else who like come eat this delicious food. I've passed by Bob's numerous times on my way to Ahi and Vegetable. I decided to try Bob's for the first time. They have a large selection of dishes and I just had to try the Beef Ribs. I love them because it's way meatier than pork ribs. The regular plate $15 has 3 bones while the mini plate $12 has 2 bones. I opted for the regular. It came with two scoops of rice and a small Mac salad. The ribs were tender fall off the bone and the bbq sauce was good. I'd definitely will return:) read more

Place feels kind of the same just more parking now. Order the BBQ mix plate for 20$... The beef ribs was super soft and tender and very flavorful but over drenched in BBQ sauce... Also! Barely any meat on it! Was pretty much only the bone... I assume maybe they might have placed the meat under the bones since it might have fallen off... Yesterday, Myles and I were coming back from our Japan trip and needed to get food for us and my dad-in-law. Myles suggested Bob's Bar-b-que. On the other hand, if you are looking for a variety of grilled meat, seafood, and burgers, Bob's may be your place. Bob's is located in Kalihi across from a McDonalds and next to a Taco Bell. The parking lot is small. There is some covered picnic bench seating in front of the counter where you order. This place looks like something out of American Graffiti but it's been here forever and clearly, a lot of the customers are regulars. We ordered a Hibachi chicken plate for dinner it was quite disappointing. Chicken was overcooked and dry. I felt that they should have dredge it and added more sauce to compensate for the dryness. I had called them to inform them of what my concern was. My guess was correct and confirmed that they do precook their chicken and they don't know how long its been sitting in the pan. She mention it would take to long for the patron to wait if it was freshly cooked. We waited 15 minutes for our plate? Only had another patron and us there. So if you folks are craving for a chicken plate ask them to have it cook fresh and not pre cook. read more
