I was craving milk tea and given that Bober is a chain, I figured I could expect consistency and quality. They have two ordering kiosks. I ordered a roasted oolong milk tea with stir fried boba and one of their matcha drinks. Both of the drinks left a weird residue/aftertaste like there was a lot of sugar. I did order both drinks at least one level sweetness down. The tea tastes were not very strong for both drinks. Boba didn't seem very fresh/stir fried as I would have expected. Service was fine. The shop looked clean. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back for their drinks. read more

What a cute shop!!! It's conveniently located in a popular shopping plaza in Martinez. After getting some shopping done you can come over and grab a delicious boba! I think they're fairly new, the inside is nicely decorated, there's even a ball pit kids can go in to play, with no shoes on of course, and it's pretty big with plenty of seating. You have to self-order your drinks, using a kiosk. The worker was on his phone so not much interaction there other than him making the drink once the order was received and handing it to you. They have plenty of options for flavors, I ended up trying the Dubai Chocolate flavor, I was a bit disappointed as the photo showed brown, green in the middle and brown at the bottom as the final result of the drink when made, but when I got my drink it just looked like chocolate milk and it tasted like chocolate milk as well. It was underwhelming. I also paid $3.99 extra for this teddy bear cup! I wish the cup was something they gave already without paying extra for it. Aside from drinks they also sell donuts of all flavors. I was tempted but did not buy one. Overall, I will be coming back, I'm curious to try other flavors and try a donut. read more

When this place first opened it was great, but it looks like they are no longer a Bober Tea affiliate and the service AND drinks have gone downhill. I think they are trying to cut corners and increase cost to cover the overhead and unfortunately it shows. The tea is very watered down, so are the cream toppings. Also the staff they employ here don't really care. I ordered drinks and took them to my car and found that they didn't seal the top of the tea firmly that it spilled all in the bag. I went back in and asked them to remake it and the girl at the counter refused saying it's not her fault that the machine didn't seal it correctly? Really? How hard was it for her to remake it. I asked for a manger , but a lead was there and ultimately told the worker to remake it. While I did get the drink remade, the experience getting there left me with a bad taste. Back to being a Bober. Which means some of the drinks do contain real fruit again. Today I got the Strawberry green tea with Chiuz cream. $7.50 is the base size as a small. Oh golly. This is crazy for the price. Half the size as before and same or higher price. You have to pay .90 cents to have less or no ice and toppings are around $1 each. A single donut was maybe $4.50. Woozy Unfortunately not sure if it's the bober franchise or what but this is sadly no longer an affordable treat spot. read more

I think it needs to be in all capital letters: DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. For some reason, corporate does not send orders to this franchise location, but corporate will charge your card. So you'll show up, only to find out that they don't have your order, have no way of getting your order, and you need to order in person. Plus, you have to dispute your charge with your bank to reverse the charge. (My bank didn't even question me, but it was a hassle). They say they have asked corporate many times to take the online ordering off, but they haven't done so. read more

The workers here are really nice that's the only reason why I put 4 stars, but the drink itself gets 0 stars. The Dubai chocolate drink is not sweet at all and I have a very low sweet tolerance, so I was expecting it to at least be somewhat pleasant considering all of the other drinks here are over the top with the sugar levels. The chocolate and pistachio drizzle is extremely bitter and super gross. Don't be fooled by the outward appearance of this monstrosity it tastes nothing how it looks. Straight bitter chocolate. My brother's family likes to get their boba from Bober in Martinez. On our way home from San Francisco to Vallejo we ordered our boba online and I ran in for pick up. My sister in law likes getting teas with boba, we got one and asked for 2 cups for the kids, my brother likes the blended drinks with red beans. I wanted to try something new and different, I like bobers boba, it's stir fried and still nice and chewy and super sweet. I usually take out the sugar level on my drinks in general. I got the Chizu pineapple green tea. I wanted to try the chizu cream and thought the pineapple and green tea was a good mix. I lowered the sweetness and less ice and I enjoyed it. Parking is fairly easy since it's located in a shopping plaza. I ran in to get the drinks which were ready. It's pretty cute inside, very aesthetic and pink and decorated. I was pleasantly surprised to find a boba place open at 10am in the morning as I was nearby for an appointment. This place is adorably decorated with pink flowers ALL OVER. Definitely great place for photo op in every corner of the room. There's also a small ball pit and swings. They serve boba and mochi donuts and it's $1 on Tuesday with each drink purchase. I ordered the Hazelnut Milk Tea with light ice. This is probably the only place that taste great, other places basically taste like chocolate milk. My mom got the Chizu Strawberry Green Tea which has chunks of fresh strawberry blended in, very refreshing. I did get the Churro mochi donut which taste exactly like a Churro lol and can't beat for only $1! Super easy to order using their kiosks. My order came out within 5 minutes. The ambiance is very beautiful with all the pink roses and the swings along with led on the walls. The tables need some stability as they are very loose. Taking about the main is the taste. I 've tried this place multiple times and everytime it was a dissapointment. TOday was my 4th time & the taste has degraded a lot . I hope the management looks into this & try to improve the taste. This place is so cute that the decor literally drew me in. The gentleman at the counter was also the co owner of this establishment. You order yourself at the two kiosk available on the rose covered wall. No cash, only card. The menu provided photos and descriptions which is very helpful. Very social media-friendly for photos (as long as you like pink!). There are cute swings by the windows + a few small tables spaced out across the shop, so maybe not the best for large groups, but it would be a cute place to hang out. We placed our order online and were given an estimate wait time of about 10 minutes, but it took ~25-30 minutes to actually receive our 2 drinks. Their brown sugar drinks are reallyyy sweet. They put a "recommended 25-50% sweetness" warning/recommendation on the one I ordered (brown sugar milk tea), but I definitely think I would've been absolutely fine at 0% sweetness (personal preference though -- I should've known since I typically already order my drinks at 25% sweet). The boba is tasty + chewy. They had a version of this available in what was advertised to be "XL" in a champagne bottle for $5 so for novelty purposes and the hope for a ginormous drink, we decided to get one. For the price, it definitely was not worth it -- we remain unconvinced that there was any more drink volume than the standard size (were able to compare since we got one of each) and we ended up having to pour it out into a separate cup to actually drink it since the straw couldn't reach the boba/would just disappear into the bottle. (We should've guessed this given that there wasn't a longer straw provided, lol.) 3.5 stars but may come back to try something else and bump up the rating. Will stick to the regular size from now on. read more

I met the owner and she was nice and friendly. She introduced her kids; all polite. I came by later in the day, almost closing, so it was not busy, which is what I prefer. Mochi donuts were good; surprisingly not so sweet like you'll get diabetes, just enough to hit that spot when you're craving for some sugar. Drinks were good as well. Ambiance? Cute with all the flowers and walls of flowers, an IG worth of pictures. They have "swings" but there's a more stating you can't swing. So they are just there to sit on but not to enjoy it as swing. I'd love to give this a 5 star for my first visit ever here. But for me it was a 3 and below is why. 5 for the staff being pretty helpful in helping me decide on a drink and how to pay for it... 4 for the ambiance. Half empty drinks left on tables, 3 of the 4 hanging chairs were out of service because the were broken and the pink ball pit was just dirty looking... With the social media world it seems like a lot of companies open up, and die quickly once everyone's been there and everyone's posted about it keeping up with the trends. After this rush of instant gratification businesses let their stores go to crap and essentially end up closing after a short period of time. No one seems to last these days. Hopefully they will last long enough as i do love boba...but this is what leads me to the 3 start review. The drink itself. I got the chizo strawberry tea and added 2x boba. I got maybe 10 boba balls through the process of drinking my drink. So that was NOT 2 times boba. The fresh strawberry was nice but this is what pissed me off more than anything: my drink was 99% ice. I took approx 3 sips and my drink was gone!! For 10$.... I was pretty mad. :( but more SAD. I never have ordered a drink anywhere besides starsucks that did that. I didn't "request" no ice but it slipped my mind and it wasn't even an option on the screen. I def won't be back as that was the most expensive boba I have ever had and was mediocre at that. Highly disappointed but it is what it is. *Easier to make my own boba at home! Or better yet TRaDER JoES has an incredible boba in their frozen section and it's seriously delicious! Just throwin that out there! If you haven't tried Bober tea before it's such a treat! The place is super well decorated inside, very cute for pictures or for hanging around. The inside is usually busy and not much space for big parties. The inside is very bright and casual, they even have swings to sit on right by the windows! The service is very fast, you place orders on the screen and then they get your orders out in about 5-10mins. The staff is usually quite friendly and they manage things really well in terms of cleanliness and order times. They also serve mochi donuts here which you can add to your drink order at the price of $3 each. The mochi donuts look very nice but from past experience they can be quite sweet and not as chewy as you'd get from most other places. The drinks are pretty great as well! I would say though, their drinks can be quite sweet so i'd recommend getting lower sweetness if you aren't huge on the sweetness! I would say this is more of a concern with the brown sugar drinks and some of the milk teas. *Brown sugar matcha latte: really great beverage! Quite sweet though, but still quite flavorful and yummy *Chizu pink pear green tea: surprisingly tasty! Not as sweet as one may think as it is mostly fruit preserves there isn't really much sugar added in addition. It has a nice subtle sweetness to it and then you taste the green tea subtly at the end Overall, this place is definitely worth the try and it is super cute inside and out. This place is super cute and very aesthetic! Seen the flower wall and boba pics all over my IG feed, so I had to check it out! I didn't see a menu when I entered, so I asked the employees how to order: You order directly through a kiosk and pick up at the counter when your name is called. There are two kiosks available and you pay with card/Apple Pay only. No cash. There were some mochi donuts displayed and we asked the employee what flavors were available. We got the Horchata flavor and it was really good! It was creamy/milky and cinnamon goodness! I had to ask what the difference between the horchata and the cinnamon one was lol. I honestly didn't expect the mochi donut to be good because it was around 8pm and I thought they might be stale. I ordered the Mung Bean Pandan Latte with boba. The drinks do not come with toppings, even if the image shows the topping in it. I had to clarify with the employee. This drink tastes very similar to 7 Leaves and exactly what I was expecting! Loved it! It came with an orchid flower on top and was very cute! My sister and bf got the Supreme Mango Green Tea. I tasted it and it was very sour. My bf didn't like that it had so much mango purée in it, making it difficult to drink. Service is great! The employees were very friendly and were able to answer the many questions I had lol. I've only been to the Bobers in Sac, but this (Martinez) location is sooo cuteee! I loveee the flowers all over the ceilings and walls. It's so pink ! Not to mention the cute swings they have hanging from the ceilings. I typically order the signature but I decided to try something different this time. I ordered the strawberry chizu green tea. Gorgeous decor and gracious customer service! We usually order delivery but found time to visit this Bober location. My daughter and I stopped by and she loved the decor with flowers along the walls and ceiling. There were swings and a ball pit too! We ordered on the kiosk (1 of 2 available), and it was simple enough. They ran out of one of my drinks and were gracious enough to give me an alternative. We ordered three mochi donuts - chocolate, taro (they also had one coconut frosting on top), and cookies and cream - all were favorites among my family. We've been to a different bober location before so thought we'd give this one a try. This store is definitely very decked out with pink everything from the ground to the ceiling! There must be thousands of pink flowers inside and it's definitely pretty cool to see. The ordering process is all self serve and everything was pretty easy. There was no one ahead of us so the drink came out super fast so that was nice. We got the pandan latte which was good but too sweet for us (we couldn't adjust the sugar level for this drink).
