This place has a great vibe! Really good BBQ stuff. Pretty large beer selection also! And they have live music, what's not to love!

The food was somewhat OK at best with a lean towards disappointing. The staff and service and absolute joke, outright rude even, and the owner "Eric" a complete waste of time and unhelpful. We start with a hostess with an attitude because I asked for a different table than what she wanted to sentence me to, a tiny table first inside the door past the counter. The food started OK, 3 meat combo with ribs, brisket, and sausage with fries. Ribs were fairly good, but a bit charred, the sausage actually tasty, but the brisket was, well, just not that good at all. To add to the disappointment apparently their interpretation of well done (crisp) fries is to make them even more soggy and limp. The staff is just rude and unprofessional. The hostess needed to move a chair so instead of asking people to move and saying excuse me, she just shoves and manages to hit me and the person behind me, not even an I'm sorry. I ask for a manager and my waitress claims to be the manager, cute. Well when I mention the fries, the waitress who claimed to be the manager tells, well I don't cook the food, nice. Finally some male employee walks up to my table while I'm eating and without saying a word reaches across my food to take a paper towel so he can blow his nose. Finally as I'm leaving I meet this joke of an owner "Eric" who says not my staff everyone raves about them, I've been here for 5 years so everything is great. My husband and I visited tonight for the very first time. We had a Groupon which was expiring today and may explain why it was so busy. I had rib/pulled pork combo and splurged for sweet potato fries. I will say that the food was very good. Very much enjoyed it. We did not care for the close tables which left only elbow room to eat our ribs, especially considering the table must also hold a paper towel holder. Two-seaters are just too small. The waitress was efficient however lacked any personality. She barely cracked a smile. My biggest two complaints are things that should most certainly be worked on. First, the bathrooms (enough said by others). The second thing is the little red and white checkered paper that gets placed on your plate beneath your food. I ate more paper tonight than I care to admit. My husband too. Although pretty, it is not practical and breaks up due to the moisture of the food., we will definitely try again maybe for some live music. read more

i would have given this 3 stars but, it is way too expensive for what you get. otherwise, ribs tasted good. portion sizes too smal for price. they should increase portions or lower price. read more

I went to Bobbique with my family yesterday, and I have to say- it definitely wasn't the best. The decor of the restaurant is decent, looks more like a bar than anything, a few tables and two booths. There are A LOT of beers to choose from so if you like a nice beer, than you shouldn't have a problem finding something. The first thing I noticed was that the service was sub-par. No one seemed to be in charge. It took a few minutes for someone to come up and greet us when we walked in. Then the wait for our food was incredibly long. They need to get new waitresses because they apparently don't care much about the customers. The food was decent- the shrimp po-boy was pretty good, although the 'chicken wings" were more like "creature wings." Did not look appetizing with the whole wing attached, not your traditional style wing. The ribs were actually really good, the french fries were pretty good, but the crab cake sandwich was sub-par due to the fishiness of the flavor. The barbecue sauce should be enhanced flavor-wise. It doesn't have a full front bold flavor I was expecting- being a hot sauce critique, I know what I'm talking about. This sauce did not enhance the flavor of the meal, for example my po-boy- it did not make the sandwich taste better, just made it a little more moist since the sandwich alone was incredibly dry. But overall, this restaurant needs a little more work on the service and food. I don't think we'll be returning anytime soon. read more

Went there last night (2/8/14) at 430 pm. Meeting my girlfriend for dinner and drinks. I got there a little early, sidle up to the bar and ordered a "Corona, No fruit"... The bartender, (about 32, brunette, chunky) looks at me and says "whaaaat?" I repeated it..."Corona, No fruit" She looks at me like I'm nuts and says " WHAT DO YOU WANT?" Okay, let's make it simple for this nitwit....."A C O R O N A WITH OUT THE L I M E." Her reply.."just say that then!" She plops a Corona, no fruit...in front of me, no coaster, and says...."it's 6". What a charmer! Gave her a ten and she so sweetly returned my 4 bucks change, only not TO ME. ...SHE DROPS THE BILLS ON THE BAR IN FRONT OF A GUY SITTING 2.5 feet away from me!!!! Gee, that was professional. So, I drink my beer, girlfriend texts me, she's parking in the back lot and will be there in 5 minutes.....Cool. Now here's where it gets even odder.....I'm STANDING at the bar, directly opposite the Stella Tap, there's about 11, 12 or so people all SITTING at the bar digging into what looks like pretty good food. The "barmaid" for lack of a better word, walks by and as she does, I ask if I could grab 2 bars stools from one of the empty tables near the back hallway. The place wasn't packed and there were 2 two seaters and 2 4 seaters unoccupied. The table I was pointing at didn't even have a paper cloth on it. She says , "No, those are for people who are going to sit and eat" I replied, "that's what I'm planning on doing" to which she replied.."a waitress will seat you when your ready" ....to which I replied..." I'm ready but would prefer to eat at the bar like these others are" . To which she replied, " Well, you can deal with the waitresses, they don't like giving up their tables for the bar" IS THIS CHICK FOR REAL!!!! Here I am with 3 feet of open space around me, asking for a stool from an unused table, the same exact stools everyone else eating at the bar is sitting in, planning to have some grub and drinks and this FLAKE DOESNT WANT THE BUSINESS! I have to deal with the waitresses!? FINE, I walk to the hostess, ask her if someone can bring me the stools or is it cool if I just grab them myself. Aaahhh, in walks the girlfriend. The girl at the counter says, " oh no, we can't, she doesn't want anymore people eating at the bar because she's alone". She? Meaning the barmaid from hell? You gotta be kidding me!!! This chick can't handle 2 more people ordering food....making money for her boss, pleasing the customer....DOING HER JOB???!!! This is fkn ridiculous.....I walk over to the bar, pick up my 4 bucks change, look at the barmaid, drop a dollar down, tell her to put this down towards a new attitude. WE WALKED OUT AND WENT TO THE MEATBALL FACTORY. THE FOOD THERE WAS GREAT, THE STAFF WAS COOL, THERE WAS AMPLE SEATING.......I SPENT MY MONEY THERE!!!!! The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the beer selection is way above average. The only issue I have is with the food. It's just mediocre. My favorite BBQ meal is ribs, brisket, mac and cheese and collard greens. The mac and cheese and cornbread were both better than most. The ribs were perfectly smoked, but they must put them on the grill after pulling them from the smoker, because they had serious black char and were too crispy on the outside. The brisket was kind of tough and for some reason they dice it into cubes, which makes it hard to eat, and totally drown it in an oily, broken sauce. Brisket is good without sauce - when smoked right it has plenty flavor all on its own. The collard greens were weirdly sweet, like they added sugar to them or something. Collard greens are supposed to be bitter to balance the sweet and spice and smoke of the meat. It's like they don't know what good barbecue is supposed to taste like. Like TGI Fridays opened a barbecue place. Send the cooks to Austin or Memphis for a few days. read more

The absolute worst dining experience . The staff was INCREDIBLY RUDE to me and my wife. The restaurant was nearly empty but the stupid hostess placed us at a tiny little table that is for two. Normally not a big deal, but my wife is 7 months pregnant and did not feel comfortable sitting on a high stool chair, so we moved to one of the empty tables near us (which there were plenty to choose from). When the hostess returned she wasn't sure how to handle the move and got the service manager. The service manager rudely told us to move back to our original table and was annoyed that we had moved. I explained that we felt uncomfortable sitting on the high stools and preferred the current table we had. She explained that it was going to be busy later and that she would need the table for larger groups. I told her again that my wife who is 7 months pregnant did not feel safe let alone comfortable enough to eat a meal. She told us again that we had to move in case larger groups arrived. We looked around and there we other 2 person groups sitting at similar tables. We pointed them out , but she stood her ground. In the end we were forced to leave. Unbelievable. read more

Actually, I like the place itself; the atmosphere, the food and in particular, the beer selection. However, what I am not tickled by is the service. I went to the bar last week on a slow Tuesday with a group of friends. There was literally my group of friends and perhaps 5 other people at the bar. It took about 15 minutes for the bartender to help us when we first arrived and it took waving down to get her attention, that is, if she was behind the bar. The majority of the time she was behind the bar, she was hanging over her friends, or regular costumers at the end of the bar. She gave us an attitude every time we ordered something. She actually caught a tone with my friend and I heard her talking about us to other employees while I was in the bathroom. Lastly, she was outside smoking cigarettes and left the bar unattended several times. The barback or bus boy (not sure who he was) was more helpful than she was. read more

I have try this place twice and while the music is good and beer selection is awesom, the service is not. I went in with my family and we waited for some friends. when my friend wanted to eat we tried to get a waitress. The first told us she was to busy to take our order. When I ask a second waitress she told me it was not her area and just walked away. I finally flagged down a young man who was busy tables and bringing out food. I ask to see a manager and he pointed to the first girl I had spoken to who had told me she was too busy to take our order. I told him told she was no help and what would it take to get fed around here. Finally A young lady named Gabby came and took our order. This is the second time I have had this experience. Honestly I have never had a manager tell me they were too busy to take your business. I will never go there again. I will just have to get my barbique and blues elsewhere. read more

This place is a disaster. I walked into the bar at 7PM on a Friday night. Two bartenders and a bar back were on. I had to wave one down even though I was sitting at a stool right in front of them. Then I was told to wait while she got three other patrons more alcohol that were clearly over served anyway. The bar top was disgusting and sticky. There was some dude playing acoustic guitar and singing some hippie music. The website advertises themselves as a blues bar. I finally got a beer and a food order in. I ordered a combo dinner with ribs and chicken strips and a platter of "chopped" brisket. For sides I ordered fries, corn on the cob, beans, and mac and cheese. This was all to-go. The food came quick and after I had to wave down the bartender again I paid and left. The mac and cheese was along the lines of Kraft deluxe. The baked beans were in a similar 3oz container with about a tablespoon of hard crunchy beans and filled with liquid. The fries were soggy and just disgusting, laden with fat. We threw those out. The chicken strips were so overcooked the kids refused to eat them. The brisket is a complete joke. Real brisket is sliced not "chopped" and this was just chunks of chewy meat. So much for melting in your mouth real bbq brisket. I would tell you about how tough the ribs were but I don't want to offend anyone in St. Louis. Clearly this place has no problem doing that and insulting me and my family for charging me $43 for this experience. I also got to pay a $1 to park to pick it up and a tip to the staff. This place needs MANAGEMENT and a serious menu improvement. I spent 10 years working bars and managing restaurants all over the east coast. I've eaten real BBQ in real BBQ places and this isn't even close. Save your money. I'll never be back. I gave it one star because Yelp made me. read more
