My guy friend recommended the cabbage. The cabbage was indeed cooked to perfection. BBQ was traditionally made, big serving, and had a kick to it. I saved half of it for later. Mac and cheese wasn't bad. I had wished I gotten a strawberry cheesecake as it looked good in the dessert cooler. Service was friendly and very hospitable. read more

The only bright side of all this pandemic is having the time to try new food places and I'm sooo glad i tried this spot. I got the bbq platter - nice and tangy perfecT. Good Customer service in this establishment is declining and becoming a thing of the past. It's very unfortunate because this place is in a perfect area for me to frequent often, close to home and work. Today I walked in the building and up to the register after placing an online order. There was a pregnant lady, standing at the register, that looked at me and without saying a word, picked up a phone and walked off. Another gentleman came to the register, without saying anything, picked up another phone, talked on it, then walked away without saying anything to me. Eventually, the guy came back and gave me a head knod that I took to mean he was ready to assist me. After that, he grabbed my order with no issue. Came in with 3 people. Person in front of us ordered a salad. That was it the place was dead. One of my guys ordered a hot dog. Still took 40 minutes to get our food..... and it was by far the worst bbq In North Carolina. If it takes 40 minutes to make a hot dog that tastes like hot garbage maybe you should not be in business. Damnit Bobbee Update: it's been a couple of hours. I can no longer trust a fart. Been here twice recently! Customer service was great, and the food was tasty as well. I had the pulled pork sandwich with potato salad, both very tasty, I love the bbq sauce. Big portion for the potato salad as well so I took half of it home! Then I got a slice of cheesecake and chocolate cake to go. Both desserts are good. The apple pie though, way too delicious!!! I got a to go order today I got brisket platter with Mac and cheese baked beans and cornbread muffin and it cost $13.02. Upon entering restaurant I was greeted and helped. My order wasn't supposed to be ready until 1:20 but I came 10 minutes early and they had it ready. Okay the sides were very good but the brisket was overcooked and dry and the sauce on it did not help the dryness. I would go back but I would try the fried chicken. read more

This restaurant has the worst customer service I have ever seen. The Manager/Owner must've drug the bottom of the applicant pool in order to find a worthless staff like this. One employee there is a small male with a mustache and he's the worst. The attitude he gives customers was shocking. Then when you order "to go" they are unable to put the entire order together and will tell you everything is there. They are lazy and do not care at all about the customer experience. I'll also add that the music is so loud that you have to strain to hear. To make it worse.. little mustache man purposely talks quiet so you can't hear him. It was nice to find this gem of a BBQ place on my travels back and forth from the job site. When I checked in that day I was surprised with coupon. Pretty good BBQ joint that far surpasses Shane's Rib Shack and whatever else similar that's in the area. I discovered this place thanks to Yelp because I was craving a pulled pork sandwich and was tired of the places that I normally frequent. Bobbee O's is nestled in the shopping center off Harris Blvd that includes Haverty's, a BP gas station, and Hilton Garden Inn hotel. It has a long table against a wall with bar stools and an open area with table seating. You can place your order via phone, in person, or by an app. I placed my order in person because when I called, I was put on hold long enough for me to be able to drive there from my job. It was about quarter to 1:00 and the place was pretty jumpin.' I ordered the pulled pork sandwich combo (drink & fries) and my total was $7.03. I failed to check in before I ordered and missed the 10% offer so CHECK-IN TO YELP WHEN YOU ARRIVE TO SAVE 10%. I waited around 5-7ish minutes and my order came out piping hot. Seriously, my fries were steaming. Bobbee O's earned an additional star from me solely due to the fries. It was a pleasant surprise to learn that they serve seasoned fries. SO GOOD. The pulled pork was slightly spicy (which I like) and very juicy. They provide you a mini container of sauce that perfectly tops off the sandwich. I was so pleased with my meal and really look forward to coming back to trying everything else on the menu. read more

The service was cool. It's July 4th They told us the place close at 7 cool. Then they said. 7:30. Ok cool. The location was not busy at all!!! We have waited an hour and 15mins for are food, while watching the staff act a fool and play around and turning ppl away. This is soooo unacceptable!!! The greens are great the sauce is great. I just don't prefer feathers on my chicken. I don't like the smokes chicken. The breader on the chicken was wet and mush when I ate them. The hush puppies are really good. Not a fan of the peas. I would go back for the wings but hold the feathers please. Maybe I'll try no breader and see how that is. For a place that used to have such good food, they have, without a doubt, consistently the worst service of any place of business. I swore off of Bobbee O's the last time I went there, about a year ago, with a group of co-workers. They all ate and I never got my food. That was my third consecutive visit with horrible service. My grandson wanted BBQ so I relented and ordered from Bobby O's online. I had to go to Target and pick up my meds so I thought by the time I got to the restaurant the order would be there waiting for me. It was not ready and was told "just a minute". After that, my presence was hardly even acknowledged. After about 15 minutes, about 45 minutes after I ordered I decided that nobody has food that's worth this much aggravation. What a great 1st Experience! Definitely will be a returning customer for sure! We had the brisket platters with Cole slaw, macaroni salad, friend okra and French fries and the smoked wings. The brisket was cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths! The bbq sauce was a perfect combination of sweet and spicy! The Cole slaw was one of the best I ever had and I'm a huge fan of Cole slaw!!!! The macaroni salad had a little kick to it which made it different but good different. Okra was just okra but it was good too. The only thing I would have changed was the corn muffin was a little dry to my liking but no big deal it will be Texas toast next time. Smoked wings meat fell right off the bone! We don't eat pork so not many things beside the brisket to try on menu hoping one day they can perfect some beef ribs! First visit. This is a counter order and take out place. Food is served in to-go boxes. I suggest calling ahead. I had the fried half chicken dinner with onion rings, hushpuppies, and macaroni salad. The onion rings were huge, thick slices and sweet. They were delicious but not crispy enough for my liking. The hushpuppies were two-bite nugget size. I didn't find anything special about them. It was like fried cornbread and didn't have much onion which I expected from a hushpuppy. The fried chicken is cooked to order. It came out hot hot hot and well, I took my meal to-go because it was still hot minutes and minutes later. The white chicken was served as the whole wing attached to the breast. I didn't try the macaroni salad because I didn't get a fork/spoon. I took it home, it was warm by then, and I didn't eat it since it has hard boiled egg in it. It looked mustardy. Watch out for bread pricing! If you get anything but a roll, you pay for it, even if your meal comes with it. It was confusing to me until it was explained. There's not much to rate on service because they don't do much. Order was accurate otherwise. read more

We ordered two meals, a barbecue plate and a chicken plate. My wife went to pick them up, and when she got home we opened the bags and discovered they had only given us the sides, none of the main course items. No barbecue, and no chicken. When we called them, we had to argue about it, and they finally agreed to bring out the missing items. By the time they finally got them to our house about 45 minutes later, which is only a couple mile drive from from their restaurant, All the items were ice cold. History

Established in 2008.

Bob Roberts opened the first Bobbee O's BBQ restaurant in Charlotte, NC, in the summer of 2008 decades after he and his wife Linda had perfected countless, delicious, home-made recipes. It was always Bob's dream to open a restaurant. Even when he was a little boy, it was a privilege for him to be able to help his mother prepare dinner, and learn some of her recipes. The first location was a small, diner style spot in a strip mall with no dine in space and no parking, but it still made in to Parade Magazine in 2013 for being one of the top 10 new school style Barbecue (BBQ) restaurants in the country (USA). The support led to the move in December 2015 to a bigger location with plenty of parking and dine in space for anyone to enjoy delicious, home-made food with their families and friends with Blues music playing in the background, and the same friendly, quick service that made people fall for Bobbee O's BBQ originally. The hush puppies were crispy and soft and full of flavor. They were tiny little pops that I could eat so day. Same with the coleslaw. I do not care for coleslaw, but this magic was insane. It made every bite taste so much better. The mac and cheese was also delicious. It was al dente and creamy and rich with flavor. I think most bbq places do mac and cheese a disservice, but not here. So that's it! If you're vegetarian and not vegan and love sides. This is your place. What's on the chopping block? The meats. Maybe it was a bad day because most reviews are great, but that was not my experience. The chicken was beyond overdone. It was practically on the verge of being inedible. The brisket was just as bad. It was so inconsistent. Some was moist, but we were served mostly a brick. Literally a hard chunk that couldn't be penetrated. The pork was good. It was probably the only thing that didn't need to be drowned in sauce. That's my other issue. Why do all the places offer so many sauces?? It's not Taco Bell or McDonald's. What are you trying to hide? Unfortunately, the delicious sides don't make up for the fact that we spent a lot for meats and the majority ended up trashed.

We would add songs, they would delete them. Random songs would show up in our queue, we would delete them. We didn't realize it until about 20 minutes in. When we told an employee about this, they weren't aware and didn't know what to do about it, but that's definitely something that needs to be sorted out for a better experience. Space-wise it's definitely pretty cramped although you could say that it made things more intimate. Food was good though! I've also had a lot of karaoke experiences where tambourines are included for added fun. Definitely wasn't expecting this, but that could be a fun addition!
