Not a "need to substitute" or "we're missing one of the items" just completely 86ed. Despite being prominently featured at the top of the menu! Since we already had our wine, we had to order something else. I went with the cheese sticks, and my mom ordered a hamburger based on what the table next to us had. When she got her burger though, despite us ordering the same as the table next to us, it was a completely different burger. She ate it anyway and my cheese sticks were okay for pub food. But overall, a really disappointing experience based on what we expected. And we had to hunt down the server to pay so we could get back to the conference on time.

We had the slicer charcuterie board which consisted of the chef's cheese and meat selections, roasted asparagus, and toasted bread and everything on the board was delish! We also really like the spicy tuna crispy rice and the bbq pork belly nachos. My favorite were the pretzel bites with beer cheese. The cheese came out with a warmer under it so that it stayed nice and melty for us! The food was excellent, and we left both times excited to come back. Unfortunately, this Sunday's visit (around 2 p.m.) felt like a different restaurant. It was much busier, and service was noticeably lacking. We waited quite a while just to be acknowledged, our drinks weren't nearly the quality they had been before, and the Bloody Mary tasted like it came straight from a mix instead of being handcrafted like our previous visits. The food was also disappointing. It was much saltier than we remembered, and we never received the Caesar salad with steak we ordered. To the staff's credit, it wasn't on our bill, so we didn't mention it. Overall, no one was rude, but the attention to detail, professionalism, and overall experience that earned our previous five-star reviews just wasn't there this time. We're hoping this was simply an off day because we genuinely loved this place and would like to see it return to the high standard that made us regular customers.

The burger is cooked exact to spec. The fries are crispy, seasoned and delicious, and the beer is a pitch-perfect match. Faith restored!!! I was skeptical going in. If you're interested in ordering food, they have a very solid menu that balances typical pub with a splash of elegance. The Chicken Sandwich is a perfect evening meal to pair with a night out. It has the typical sandwich ingredients but everything is of decent quality. It is not a heavy meal yet it delivers a perfect amount of satiation to begin a night out. The Fried Pickles prepared with a perfect ratio of pickle to batter and perfect for sharing amongst friends. Easily my favorite thing about the place is the pool tables. There is one inside and one outside on the patio. Shooting pool throughout the night and having the lively atmosphere makes for such a wonderful time. We have seemed to have good luck with getting a table but other times we have had to wait. There's a natural center of gravity which keeps myself and the group returning to the daily. Pool tables, never too crowded, solid outdoor areas, and quality food seldom found at bars. He first suggested a cranberry spritzer, then recommended a lemon drop and a strawberry chipotle mojito. Unfortunately, both drinks were disappointing. The lemon drop was bland, and the strawberry chipotle mojito barely tasted like it had any alcohol and was also lacking flavor. We were told the upstairs comedy club had recently been renovated. While it looked updated, I was surprised by how small the stage was. The seating also felt cramped, with four people expected to share a very small table. Compared to other comedy clubs we've visited in Charlotte, the layout just didn't feel well thought out. The highlight of the night was getting to see Flame Monroe, but overall the venue itself didn't leave a lasting impression. If you're curious, it's worth visiting once to experience it for yourself, but it's probably not a place we'll return to.
