Wings have potential, they are good and have meat, but the skin and frying of the skin is not the best, still has room for improvement as it feels on the chewy side. The potato salad was really good, just feels heavy. I'd come here again, it's just that there are other wing places whose wings are even better so they are to have higher stars. I got 15 wings with them being split in hot, hot garlic parm, and Ming Wing. The MingWing was a hoisin marinated wing served with a honey sauce. It tasted "burnt" without the honey sauce, but once dipped it was overly sweet. The "hot" tasted more like a normal buffalo which was great. And the hot garlic parm was easily my favorite of the three. It combined a buffalo with garlic and parm. Service was lacking a bit, but given the hole in the wall nature I didn't mind it. This is my favorite wing place in Charlotte. Although sometimes overwhelming, I love the huge variety in wing flavors. For the most part the wings are fried well and most of the flavors taste really good. My favorite is the southern fried wings with a side of gravy. My least favorite is pretty much any flavor with garlic because instead of cooking garlic into the sauce, the wings are tossed in fresh minced garlic along with a sauce. So you're getting chunks of garlic with each bite. If you like blue cheese with your wings, they have the best chunky funky blue cheese and their ranch is pretty good too. I used to love when they had fried pickle spears, they only do chips now which are okay. I hope they go back to the spears because they were the only place I know to do it that way and the pickles remained fresh and juicy. At best, I'm disappointed. The food is what does this place in. The wings, both times I've had them, have been overdone to the point of parts of the chicken being tough and stringy. While the rubs and sauces were good, it's still not pleasant to eat. Besides that, the tater tots were clearly not made in-house. The Tetris shapes gave that away. read more

This is a great local place with a lot on wing options. They have dry rub wings and wings with sauce. I tried a few flavors and they were all delicious. I liked my basket combo that came with wings and a side. My husband just got wings. I was surprised it was extra for celery/ carrots with the wings. I am someone who needs a little variety, so I do not like only one food option or having to pay extra, but like I said the basket option was perfect for me. We had great service. There are a good number of tables, but they are a little close together. We sat in the main room with the bar. There was a secondary room on the left that seemed less crowded. Overall there was a good vibe and it has a sports bar feel. They had multiple tvs with sports playing. The most surprising thing about the restaurant is that it shares a parking lot with a gas station. We had heard many good things about the restaurant, but were hesitant about to try it due to the location, but I'm so glad we did. I would love to go again. Summary... The ming wings seem to be chargrilled in hoisin and drizzled with honey. Honey gold has a little heat with a touch of sweetness. I definitely recommend their bleu cheese- pretty sure they make it in house. This joint does A LOT of to go orders and they nail it with timing and quality every single time. Pro tip: Their bar is small so if you're counting on getting a drink while you wait for your to-go then do NOT come in on a game day. My only complaint would be the parking situation.
