Fun spot to try if you are in camp North end wanting a burger or chicken sandwich. The seasoning on the sandwich is like Cajun type blend you can get mold, hot or not seasoned. Sadly the coleslaw was left off our sandwich and I think that would have paired well with the seasoned chicken. The staff is very friendly and provide excellent customer service as you decide what you want. They have a selection of sodas, wine and even some medicines in their market which is nice. The sauce options are good as well. The place is small but their is an outside area we well.
Smash burgers and chicken sandwiches are featured here. The pictures don't do the burger any justice. Probably one of the most seasoned burger I've had. My wife says it was too salty. Definitely a preference. The fries were equally seasoned to perfection. The service was quick and the person who took our order was very friendly. She was very informative as well. The ambiance is cute for the small space. Plenty of drink options whether you want a fountain drink or a bottled drink. They also had alcoholic beverages if you need one to wash your burger and fries down. The thought process to make this space nostalgic with the posters and items for sale behind the counter added a cute touch. I'd like to come back and try the chicken as coleslaw.
YUM! This place has great food. The burgers and chicken sandwiches are both really good. They give heaping helpings of fries too! It's expanding into a market, which is super convenient to have in that area. What a great addition to Camp North End!!!
Great burgers! I met do friends here for lunch, and the smash-style burgers did not disappoint. I ordered the Ogden burger with a single patty. I was very pleased. Both my burger and fries were made fresh to order. The fries are not my preference, but they were good. This place is set up like a market with beverage coolers and shelves with snacks, other food items, household items and even medicines. This place would be a life saver for people visiting Camp North End or those who live in the nearby apartment community. My only complaint is the lack of seating inside. It's not ideal for groups who wish to sit together. My party was able to snag good seating, buy this might not always be the case. There is additional seating outside on the walkway but isn't ideal for cold winter months.
Honestly one of the best chicken sandwiches and smash burgers I have had in a while. We got the Retha Mae chicken sandwich in mild spice and it was perfect. Just enough spice for some heat, but not burn your mouth hot. The chicken was super crunchy on the outside but juicy on the inside paired with pickles and surefire sauce was 10/10. The burger was top notch as well. We opted for the classic with 2 patties and came with cheese, pickles and smacked sauce. Full of flavor and just overall one of the best I've had in a while. We will 10000% be coming back for more the next time we are in Charlotte!
Sometimes all you need is a grilled cheese. Simple and delicious. Added an egg at home and it slapped
The food was delicious! I had the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. It was truly amazing, I ordered it with a little spice and it was just the right amount. The service was great too, you order at the counter and I totally trusted the teammate with my order, he did not disappoint! There is plenty of outside seating, perfect for people watching at Camp North End. What I would say. 2 sandwiches before tip were $26, without any fries or drinks, that's the only reason I am giving 4 stars. Enjoy the sandwiches and burgers here on your next visit to Camp North end!
Tried the Classic Smash Burger at Surefire, and it was exactly what a smash burger should be--crispy edges, juicy inside, and flavorful. The sear on the patty gave it that perfect crunch, with the melted cheese, and I asked for grilled onions as an addition. The bun was soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together, and the toppings stayed balanced without overpowering the burger itself. It's the kind of burger that disappears way too fast because every bite keeps you going back for the next.. i was legit sad when i finished lol Service was great and the casual vibe makes it a spot I'd definitely come back to when a burger craving hits.
I cam here with my family yesterday to try this restaurant recommended by my sister in law. It's located in Camp Northend. Parking is free and this restaurant has its own storefront. I did not take many pictures of the inside of the restaurant, but it seems like a restaurant, mini warehouse, convenience store. There were boxes stacked with items. I guess that's the "market" side. I was under the impression that it was a restaurant only. There was limited seating inside as well. I know this place is known for its burgers but for some reason I didn't have a craving for one at the time. I ordered the Retha Mae with the Saide sauce which is a hot sauce of some sort and my husband ordered the classic burger. Now about the Saide sauce, the cashier who assisted us was a young woman, who answered our questions, but seemed detached. She offered the Saide sauce as if it's something that came on the sandwich, then proceeded to charge $1 for the sauce. I believe that should be disclosed if an up-charge will be added. We also ordered fries, mambo sauce, and a grilled cheese for my toddler. We gave our name and waited outside. The order took around 10 mins or so (I went back inside and my name was called shortly after). My in laws were told they would be notified via text but weren't. I started off with the fries, which were nice and hot! I used the mambo sauce to dip my fries into and that was delicious! My chicken sandwich had a large chicken breast which I loved and it was very juicy. There was nice flavor and the spice was satisfying as well (it wasn't a burn your mouth hot). The chicken was between a potato bun (awesome!), pickles, Surefire sauce, everything except the coleslaw. I was disappointed because I was looking forward to that! I honestly didn't feel like going back because it was hot and we had to walk over to another part of Camp Northend for shaded seating. All in all my meal was good sans coleslaw and I would probably come back!

I ordered the original double cheeseburger and the chicken sandwich Sadie style, which means spicy. I also ordered the fries and some extra sauces. The burger was thin and juicy. The edges were crispy and the cheese was nice and melty. It was very flavorful! The chicken sandwich had a nice crunchy breading. I loved the spicy too. It had a little sweetness to it as well which I loved. The fries were well seasoned and super crispy. And the ranch and surefire sauce were both amazing as well!
Been hearing all the hype about this new smash burger establishment, and decided to give them a try. I'm happy I did, I ordered the classic burger, single patty. The burger and the fries were fantastic. I hate when an establishment advertises smashed burgers but you don't get a smashed burger patty with crispy edges. Well that's not the case here, they get your patty nice and thin with those caramelized crispy edges!! Chef's kiss.. The fries were hot fresh and seasoned to perfection. They offer chicken sandwiches, milkshakes etc. Service was nice and quick, it's a bit tight and cluttered on the inside, but they do have outdoor seating. Everything seemed clean, we sat inside and enjoyed our meal!
Cute new smash burger place in camp north end. I think they opened recently when we tried them and all the menu items were not available (shakes). They have burgers, chicken sandwiches and kids grilled cheese and fries. The shakes were not available yet but we saw chocolate, cookies and cream and another flavor. We opted for the Tyson Corner, single patty, one with mambo sauce and one without. The burgers were perfectly cooked with crispy edges and flavor. My only suggestion is to toast or steam the buns as they were cold compared to the hot toppings. Definitely coming back to try another burger and chicken sandwich. The spot also sells some convenience store type items in the order area. A little confusing but perhaps a need they are filling in the community.
Finally got to come to Surefire's "new" spot here in north Charlotte. I miss having them in Rock Hill as that was my go to place before the fire. I'm happy though to see the success they are having. Restaurant is very clean and welcoming. Their staff is very friendly and I picked up a double Ogden burger with fries. Absolutely delicious and flavorful with every bite. Fries were pretty good; nice, hot, and crispy with good seasoning. I hope I'm up here again soon to come back and get that Retha Mae

A local, lunchtime gem at Camp North End! We came during a peak time on a Sunday, but the line to order moved quickly, and we were able to snag a table inside (in the A/C) to wait. There's also a restroom inside for customers. If the inside seating is full, there are also tables out front (and elsewhere around CNE) to enjoy your grub. We ordered the Honey Butta fried chicken sandwich and the Tyson's Corner burger, along with some seasoned fries with smack sauce. Everything was fire. The burger was especially good, juicy with caramelized onion and a soft, slightly sweet bun. The fries also hit the spot, came out hot and reminded me of childhood. read more
The fries are really good and they are enough for two people to share. They are seasoned and the coated fries that are nice and crunchy. The smashburger I had was good but on the salty side. Whoever prepared it was a little careless and put all the pickles on one side instead of evenly distributing them. The special sauce didn't have much flavor. My burger was also a little dry probably because it sat in the window for over five minutes while they were cooking the fries. Kitchen should work on timing the food to come out at the same time so everything is hot and fresh. read more
A Mixed First Impression I don't usually find myself in the northern part of Charlotte, but I've heard enough good things about Camp North End to make the drive to check it out. On a Monday afternoon, many spots were closed, but Surefire was one of the few open and relatively busy. I went in with an open mind but the à la carte pricing for my drink, burger and fries felt a bit steep for what eventually arrived. The concept of the burger is that it's smashed but I didn't get any crispy edges which were to be the highlight. What I received strongly reminded me of a dollar burger from a McDonald's restaurant. Depressing. It was very salty with a sweet onion jam that provided the only contrast. The basic American cheese didn't add much, and the lack of any fresh toppings - no lettuce, tomato or even a pickle - left the whole thing feeling heavy and one note. The sweet-and-salty profile just didn't cut through the fattiness well enough for me. I've had much better smashed burgers and worst ones too, but this didn't live up to the hype I've heard. The fries on the other hand were solid: hot, crispy, and well-cooked. They were just aggressively seasoned further adding to the overall "salt-bomb" effect of the meal. The real highlight? Service! The staff were genuinely pleasant, friendly, and provided great hospitality! The bathrooms were also impressively clean which always adds a nice touch. Not a ton of seating but on a Monday afternoon where the crowds are low there didn't seem to be a problem. An ok first visit overall. I'd be willing to go back and try the chicken sandwich instead. Different palates will vary of course - some may appreciate the bold seasonings. For me, it was a decent stop due to the service and atmosphere of Camp North End, but not a burger destination. read more

So glad I came across a post about Surefire this weekend. We got there around 8pm and were greeted immediately . I liked that they have large photos with descriptions of their sandwiches which made ordering easy. Our food was ready quickly (under 10 minutes). Everything was fresh and tasted delicious. I ordered the Honey Butta Chicken Sandwich and I convinced Hubby to order the Double Odgen. The fries were great (crispy and fresh). I ordered Mambo sauce to dip them in. The chicken sandwich was sooo good! I contemplated leaving the coleslaw on but opted out. But they put a tiny portion in a container and I tried it on my last bite and wasn't disappointed. WHEN I order it again I'll get it the way it comes. Hubby was less impressed with the burger. He thought five guys burger had a better char on the patties. We also ordered a plain tender for our toddler. It's a big tender so one was enough; Unfortunately it had some spice so it was more mild than plain. There are cocktail style tables on the side of the restaurant and about 5 patio tables out front. I would absolutely recommend you come and try their chicken sandwiches! read more

I am not big on burger places, but will say this place didn't disappoint. I liked the food. My husband got the Retha Mae chicken sandwich and it was too much for him(shocker). The burger was good. The food is good, I ordered the Ogden double stack burger with the seasoned French fries. The staff was lively and friendly and the interior is small but its a really chill vibe. Parking is easy which makes hanging out a breeze. They have a variety of drinks that lean into Pepsi. read more

Really solid fried chicken spot with big flavor. Got the Aretha Mae chicken sandwich with a side of fried cauliflower bites, and everything hit. The smack sauce is especially good and ties everything together. I went with mild heat, which had great flavor without being overly spicy. Portions were solid, but it is a bit on the pricier side. My sandwich and cauliflower bites came out to about $21 with tip, so it feels more like an occasional treat than an everyday stop. There's nice seating both indoors and outdoors, but it is a bit limited. Food came out in about 10 minutes, which felt totally reasonable. Fair warning, it's definitely a messy sandwich, so grab extra napkins, but that kind of comes with the territory. Overall, really good food and something I'd absolutely get again when I'm in the mood for a quality chicken sandwich. read more
Customer service is top tier here. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. The menu is simple yet delicious. I like their chicken sandwiches slightly over their burgers. After not making it by Surefire during my first trip to charlotte, I made it my first stop when I came back. Unfortunately it didn't meet any expectations i had. Actually it was extremely disappointing as a whole. First I'll say the service was almost unwelcoming. I felt like It was obvious it was my first time and the lady just seemed as if I was an inconvenience to her day. She didn't seem interested in taking the order and very dry personality. Probably a better fit for boh than being the cashier. For food we orders a single with cheese, double classic, honey butta, and fries. As for the burgers they are probably decent but holy crap were they salty. The first bite and your immediately caught off guard by how heavy handed they are with the seasoning. Usually the issue is under seasoning but they certainly made sure to Give it their all. Thankfully we split the burger so it was a little easier to force down after a 5 hr drive and being super hungry. Then we moved on to the honey butta. I'm a chicken sandwich monster and can't tell you one time I've not finished A chicken sandwich..... well until today. I expected a sweetness because honey is in the name but this was almost like eating a plate of chicken and waffles drenched in syrup. Extremely sweet and unbearable to take down. I wanted a savory lunch but this was like a dessert chicken sandwich. I took two bites out of my half and tossed the rest. After the extremely salty burger to this extremely sweet chicken it was not manageable. Next the fries. Those were decent. The 2 stars are strictly based off the fries. They could have taken some of the salt from the burger and added it to the fries but over all they were crispy and easily manageable to eat. Other than that the business sells drinks and snacks and the prices just felt like double what they would be anywhere else. Very steep as a whole. Over all for me and my family they really missed the mark and after a long drive from ga it was a super disappointing dinning experience. read more
Surefire Market is a new addition to Camp Northend that serves up delicious smash burgers as well as chicken sandwiches! Their menu is small and focused providing some classic fast food staple items but with fresh local ingredients and served up by local Charlotte natives. I have yet to make it in to see the place in person, but I have now ordered delivery through Door Dash multiple times, and I have to say these are some of the best smash burgers I've had in quite some time. The chicken sandwich was no joke either! If the food can be this good after being delivered I can only imagine how good it tastes right off the grill. I am going to have to make a point to stop in soon! read more

Fast food Service style, quick and to the point. Walk in, Order at register, stand and wait for name to be called. A few indoor tables and a few outdoor tables to grab a bite then go. Many took to-go orders. Tried the fries, the Ogden Double smash burger which has cheese, caramelized onions, and bacon. Also ordered the Retha Mae Chicken Sandwich spicy with coleslaw and pickles but ours was missing the slaw. OVERALL Verdict: Food was decent and fresh. Burger was okay. I feel the caramelized onions over powered the flavor of the burger. Spicy Chicken sandwich was seasoned with a crunchy type seasoning which threw off the texture of the sandwich because it seemed like I kept biting into tiny hard pieces. Opt for the basic chicken sandwich IMO. Fries were boring. Would have appreciated a fresh cut potato style to marry the food. The Surefire sauce is different, the only word I have for that. Decent food but has me skeptical of the IG influencers overhyped reviews more and more these days. read more

Me and my friend visited after a workout and opted for the single smash burger with lettuce, tomato and pickle (no bun) and we shared an order of fries. We were very satisfied without the guilt! So good! We will definitely return! read more
