Me and bubble tea just ain't friends, so when a friend took me here promising a sweet treat, I was a bit skeptical. And then to my delight he ordered us both the Dirty Affogato, which comes with the macaron of your choice! Now THAT is a treat I can sink my teeth into! This location is quite spacious, filled with low tables topped with board games, so it makes for a fun environment. But the longer we sat there enjoying our treats, it became obvious the low tables topped with games make the joint more family friendly, which made it quite noisy. Fair warning. But the dirty affogato is a worthy treat. Priced a litte steep at $4.99 for a small portion, but at least it is piled up with goodies - a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with an espresso shot, whipped cream, hot fudge and caramel with about six flavors of macarons to choose from. I opted for hazelnut to pair up with the coffee, and it was fresh and sweet! Overall it was really a sundae that had coffee spilled on it, but if you enjoy the bitter snap espresso can lend to a dessert, it's a fun twist on the Italian classic. Coming from San Francisco, where the boba craze is on the rise, boba spots are usually a hit or miss. I yelped for some boba around Concord after my boyfriend moved to the area and all that came up was a Quickly's here and there so I was excited to see something other than Quickly's opening. Came on a Wednesday night and there were only two customers inside. This is a plus after waiting so long in SF for some boba. I ordered the lychee fusion tea with green tea. It was a little on the sweet side, but that wasn't a deal breaker. The boba...I've had better, but it was decent. It wasn't overcooked, hard, or chewy. Inside there are tables set up with games like Jenga and Checkers. My boyfriend and I played a game of Checkers while we waited for our drinks. What a cute idea. The place is a bit plain when it comes to decor. They have a big selection of drinks and smoothies that I will definitely try next time. So glad I found my new boba spot in Concord. Came here with some friends after some Korean BBQ. We had some fun, it's very quiet and quaint so it was a good change of pace from the loud, bustling and kind of hectic environment we were in so it was a nice shift to get to know some new people. They have milk teas, smoothies, fusion teas, milkshakes, slushes, fraps and coffee/lattes. I had the jasmine green tea with honey, strawberry and peach fusion along with black boba, and lychee/peach popping bobas. I can never pass up popping boba. They gave me a lot of drink, not a lot of ice and a ton of topping! I couldn't finish the toppings because it was enough of a meal on it's own and I'd just filled up on all you can eat meats somewhere else. The drink was really good, it was a bit on the sweeter side, so be careful if you are mixing drinks. Everything was made very well, there were generous portions. It's new and still ironing out the wrinkles but lots of potential here. What makes them different from most other boba shops is that everything tastes real. I've had their milk teas and their smoothies and I can taste the fruit without the powdery, gritty, artificial stuff they usually blend in to make these drinks. My favorite here is the avocado smoothie. They use real avocados and it comes out fresh and creamy. For some reason their boba is also cooked to the right texture. The place itself is like one big giant room. They try to make this place one where you would hang out by putting in a foosball table, table games, and chairs. Their menu is easy to read. The servers are nice and attentive. The wait can take long at times but like I said they will get it together. Finally there's a decent milk tea/boba place in the suburbs that isn't Quickly. For being someone who's had the luxury of trying all the good boba places in San Francisco, I'd say BobaLoca makes the cut for pleasing the "boba snob" in me. This place has a lot of options on the menu for variety's sake, but not to the point where it overwhelms you or is disgustingly bombarded with items like at a Quickly. They offer mostly drinks (like the usual milk tea, smoothie, slushy) but also have shaved ice and dessert waffles on the menu. Location is good too, seeing as though park n shop is becoming a little better as a "hot spot" for food. It IS right near a Quickly...but this place is for sure the better option. And one last thing...they put actual espresso shots in their milk coffee to give you that caffeinated energy! Coffee + boba is like heaven for me! read more

1st off - this place offers less sweet and less ice options - you gotta ask, though (I couldn't find it anywhere that said they offered that, so I gotta spread the knowledge). 2nd - it was alright... not bad, not something I would make a special stop for again. The milk tea was made with less sweetener and less ice and it was perfect for my liking. The boba was also perfectly made (not too soft, not too hard). 3rd dunno if it was after the lunch rush, but there was a bit of a funk to the place. Tables needed to be wiped for sure, and there was a slight smell. Though, it may have come from either restaurant next to them because it was that fish market sort of smell and both restaurants offer fish. It wasn't strong, or super foul, but present. Plus after about 5 mins I grew nose blind to it. 4th - only sweet options for drinks and food was disappointing, but I should have rechecked the menu offerings. I really had wanted some popcorn chicken with my boba tea, and all of the other boba tea places in the area offer it, but unfortunately not them. Grading is about 3. It was ok. I've been here before but never my top choice but perhaps they change so I decide to get a drink. This place has good smoothies! However, the customer relations is the worst. I always tip them and they never say thank you. All the employees looks mad with a frown. And when the items are ready they call your name and just leave the drink, again not even a THANK YOU! I used to live in this area during a time when there were barely any Asian people around and my family would have to drive to Oakland or San Jose on weekends for our grocery shopping. There were maybe four Asian kids in my class. Color me surprised then to return to Concord years later to find a pho restaurant and boba place in a strip mall I used to frequent as a kid. I popped in here after grabbing pho for dinner. I didn't expect much and I left pleasantly surprised. This place is a real hidden gem. My husband only ever agrees to get boba if the place has Thai tea (which doesn't include as many places around here as you might expect) and this place has both that and delicious flavored fruit teas that always keep me coming back for more! I typically go for the green tea with raspberry, add strawberry popping boba and lychee jelly for a super sweet amazing taste explosion. The place is not much to look at it but they do always have board games and such lying around, I would expect they're typically busy on weekend evenings but I tend to avoid this entire shopping center around those times. I wish it had a little more ambiance but it's not bad enough to deduct any stars, in fact I like it more since it keeps a million people from hanging around and keeping the lines long (like iTea). They also have crepes, Hawaiian shaved ice, ice cream, espresso, and macaroons which all look amazing but I haven't made it around to trying anything other than tea here. We were hoping to find a boba place in this specific shopping area and we were glad to find this place. My friends and I each got a different kind of boba drink, taro, avocado and watermelon. We were happy with each of them, they were flavorful and not too sweet. Thank you. However, the two banana and nutella crepes we ordered weren't good at all. They were served on a flimsy styrofoam plate without any attention to presentation, not even a drizzle of nuttela on top. They came with thinly sliced bananas and thin application of nuttela! In the end we liked what we got which was lychee tea with tapioca balls and mango stars and I think I would stop in again if I was in the area but I wouldn't make a special trip just to come here. There were so many different things to choose from on the menu so I asked if they had anything made with coconut, almond or soy milk. The guy there said no. So we stood there confused as to what to order. Then he said,"some of them are made with non dairy milk" This confused us even more and he didn't elaborate. So I picked something on the menu and asked, he said that one is made with cream. Ok on to another one, the next one was made with half and half. Getting frustrated I asked which exact ones are made with non dairy milk. He then mumbled a few which I didn't quite understand and I thought the first thing he said was Lychee. I double checked, "Is the Lychee non dairy?" He said yes. Ok we want 2. He then just stood there and I stood there. Nothing. He happened to glance down and my eyes went to where he was looking. Wow this is great! This boba spot just opened right next to my favorite Asian market, Ranch 99! The interior is very chill with plenty of seating and tables with board games to play while you sip on your favorite milk tea drink. They even have a foosball table! Another thumbs up for them playing some good reggae music during my visit. I ordered the Thai milk tea and the tea itself is very good. Lots of flavor and not too sweet. The boba has perfect texture, but I wish it was sweetened a little bit. That's just how I like my boba. Bad customer service from the Manager named Iggy. If only I could put zero rating. I attached photos about this situation. Fiancé typed in the order since he couldn't talk due to his surgery of his gums. It's stated "2 mocha frappe with coffee jelly", and yet he gave him matcha. I was being nice and ask him if I could just pick up the right drink and bring back the mistake drink. He keep insisting that he agreed on the match drinks. But when my fiancé did the order, the manger told him the price he paid in cash $16 even and called him for the order. Well my fiancé's didn't realize that the drink was a mistake until he got home from Concord- Modesto, and it's not just nearby. Long story short, the manager is very rude and has no customer service at all. Hopefully he'll change for the better and for the store that he is managing at the moment. Lady in the counter greeted me as soon as I walked in. I knew what I wanted so ordering was easy. I had a regular taro slush. I only suggest to lighten up on the powder used to make the slush. Oh and I can TOTALLY taste the powder. It was tough to give a 5 because Quickly's just, for some reason, gets it right. The consistency I mean. Other then that it was cool. Their environment was casual as well. Tables has board games. They use to have table soccer but wasn't really taken cared of so I assume that's why they took it out. I walked in with a couple playing chess. I would probably have given a 5. But based on the location it was hard. Quickly's and Kevin's right next door I had to give a 4.
