I wasnt familiar with the are so parking wasnt thw easiest. After a few trips around the block aomeone in front left their metered parking so i took it. You order via the one kiosk they have. They had probably a dozen orders in front of me. I got 2 drinks. The brown sugar boba oolong tea was mid tbh. However, guava strawberry yogurt slushie was absolutely delightful. I have never quite had a drink like this but it was absolutely lovely. Def a must try for sure. Inside was super cute too. And i can't say much about the service since the only interaction i had was when i got my order. Overall it was solid and priced well so ill def hit this up when im back or whem i head to the ones on AZ.

Newest boba spot in downtown Walnut Creek...! Ume Tea is a newer chain in the bay, easily distinguished by its bubblegum pink theme and cute chibi bunny mascot. I've been to its earlier locations and it's honestly evolved a lot since their first shop opened. The tea just keeps getting better and better :3 This is located in downtown Walnut Creek, replacing Mr. Greenbubble. Huge upgrade IMO. The space has been modernized and given a breath of fresh air. The staff are upbeat and efficient. Even when it's packed, I've never waited longer than 5 mins for a drink. MANGO COCONUT TWILIGHT: This is probably my top boba drink all year LOL. I love the cute marshmallow cloud and mochi milk toppings. The mango is super ripe and cut into small chunks that never get stuck in the boba straw (THIS IS A HUUUGE PITFALL I SEE IN OTHER BOBA SPOTS LMAO) I've been here too many times to count... One thing I will say is that their milk tea is not my favorite LOL. Milk teas and their pearls, kinda too sweet and artificial tasting for some reason. Fruit teas and everything else, great!

My daughter and I def have a boba addition. Within a week, we went here 4 times LOL. We went once during soft opening as we were in the area, unaware UMe was opened until we saw people inside. Then we were back the next day. Their online ordering was turned off for a while during their grand opening week where they offered cheaper drinks, BOGO drinks on same drinks, merch with drinks purchases, and cheaper popcorn chicken on different days. The cheaper drinks and BOGO days had lines out the door, so we skipped those. We went the evening of the day where we ordered 4 drinks and we got a small cute keychain. Wasn't expecting it either since I just wanted the drinkable mochi topping. We also went on the popcorn chicken day and tried their regular and spicy popcorn chicken. Pretty good! For drinks, I've tried the following- Brown sugar boba mochi milk tea- pretty solid drink. The daughter mentioned from another Ume location that the mochi had snot like texture, so she calls it snot milk tea, but I'm addicted. Mochi rice milk tea- literally the drinkable mochi and couple types of rice with milk tea. Pretty interesting! Milk tea with taro and mochi- one of my fave. Not taro milk tea, but rather milk tea with taro chunks and mochi! Lychee watermelon- gotta enjoy this one quickly as it tended to separate if left sitting. Fresh. Oreo creme brûlée milk tea or something similar- pretty solid for this type of drink. Oolong brown sugar milk tea- they recommended 30% sugar for this drink so we got it at 30%, which was sweeter than 50% at some other drinks. Tasted good though. Strawberry matcha- love how this had matcha ice cream inside!!! They have some other stuff I'll try next time, such as a pistachio coconut drink where it's coconut water with pistachio cream/foam, and a blue coconut drink with a mochi top. Those are non caffeinated, so I'll try when I feel I don't want/need the caffeine. I'm just addicted to the mochi topping for now. :)

Glad to see a tea boba spot that serving tea and food. Right next to orange theory. Street parking meter or park in the garage next to it for a free hour. Order the milk tea with taro ball. Perfect made taro balls. More on the milky side, so if you what more tea forward not the place for you. Order the popcorn chicken that they are known for and was a disappointed as it was crispy. Flavor though was spot on. Not if you order online and put a time, they will make it in the order the receive the order and it will sit there. I ordered online twice and once I put it for 30 min later and it just sat there as it only took 15 min to make. While the other time I put asap and it said 15-20 and it was done in 10 minutes wasn't notified. But I walked in and it was already done.

The new ume tea in Walnut Creek delivers proper milk tea options with a nice selection of fried appetizers to accompany the sweet/savory drinks. Nestled in the heart of Walnut Creek, the bright and inviting lobby creates a warm environment to chill and have a good snack. The merch wall is full of goodies for those in need of an ume souvenir. There's two options for ordering; self POS and register. The people are very nice behind the counter, and the POS is very simple to use. Creme brulee Thai tea: awesome sweetness all around, exactly what you'd be looking for in a Thai tea. Tiramisu matcha latte: super sweet for a matcha, as expected with the tiramisu and lady finger topping! Popcorn chicken and fries combo: perfectly fried chicken thighs with fried basil. Yummy! Takoyaki: fluffy and filled with octopus, good app to share Fried fish balls: as expected, delicious with their complimentary sweet and sour sauce. Ume tea will have no trouble captivating their customers base, while drawing in new foot traffic with their inviting storefront in Walnut Creek!

Loved the more unique toppings that Ume offers, like sticky rice, mochi, and taro. We waited 45 minutes in line on grand opening day but scored a pink rabbit balloon. My boyfriend ordered the pistachio jasmine delight--the pistachio cream was rich and nutty, and the jasmine tea flavor was strong. My hot black milk tea with taro and mochi at 15% sweetness was still a bit too sweet due to the toppings but a refreshing drink overall. We also tried a mystery box drink, though the prizes vary widely...so proceed with caution.

Promo email that does not necessarily mention for the first 100 customers

Technically, there is not much to review since I was not a customer who bought anything. Somehow I got on the Ume Tea newsletter (my last purchase was years ago) and saw that they are having a promotion for opening week at the new WC location. Today was supposed to be for free merch with every order. However, when I asked about this before placing my order, the staff said it is for the first 100 customers. Not sure if I read anything like that on my email. So my best guess from this is, if you are looking for their opening day promo deals, make sure you are one of the first 100 customers. Or, take your business elsewhere.

Came here during Ume Tea's Grand Opening day and it was quite a line! I honestly wasn't expecting the crowd because I didn't see it being advertised but I guess the word must have gotten out! I waited about an hour from the line to receiving my food and boba. The decor and specials are a nice touch. It is very pink and cute and definitely IG ready. $2.99 boba specials are hard to beat these days so the crowd explains it! Everyone seems excited about their first boba experience it a some people even got the balloons. I ordered the matcha strawberry latte without the ice cream and it was pretty delicious. It could only be reduced to 50% sugar but wasn't too sweet. I enjoy the flavor and the I also ordered their popcorn chicken and spicy chicken strip. Both are good! I wish they have regular fried calamari not the fried octopus since I am not a fan of the head so I hope they would expand their food menu later on. The LCD screen displays the prep progress so it is a nice touch and you know when your order is almost up. I am sad Green Bubble is gone but happy Ume seems like a decent replacement.

Lucky me! I just so happen to catch wind of the opening of this place on Locust this weekend and had to swing by! Super super cute! The inside is small, best for dropping by with small parties 3-5 at most! Limited seating with small booths along the walls. They also have the order queue on a tv in the front, so it makes it easier to see where your order is in terms of processing. The inside and the drinks are so picture perfect! I LOVE the aesthetic of the drinks, the yogurt drinks come in these cute rectangular cups and it comes with a cute little bunny straw hole cap. I also had a chance to try the Oreo Creme Brulee Boba Oolong Milk Tea but not pictured as we got a surprise cup. The service was CRAZY good! It was super busy and a huge line was building outside. Though it did take time to get to the front the drinks came out in about 5-10 minutes maybe even less! Right now they have one register running but it looks like they might be opening up a kiosk for self ordering(i think i saw a tablet stand). For opening day, the drinks came out FAST! And the drinks came out perfect! I really like most of the drinks! Definitely think the Oreo Creme Brulee was on the sweet side, but the yogurt drinks felt about right. The Oat Burst Sticky Rice Yogurt is definitely not for everyone, but very yummy. It tastes like Beijing yogurt and the rice offsets the tartness of the yogurt. I liked the bursting bits and the little rice bits. I actually had a lot of leftover toppings but i really enjoyed it! The Mango Coconut Twilight was super cute and flavor was ok! I really can't wait to try out the other drinks on the menu and get some snacks :) Please also keep in mind, this is on a busy street of other local businesses. Street parking is limited, however there is a garage right next door with VERY affordable parking! Either way, it's worth the trip, so happy they finally opened an Ume closer to home.

Great drinks and food, and nice portion sizes! We visited today (January 24th, 2026) for the grand opening and were very satisfied with the food and service. The inside of the store was all decked out in pink and there was a small merch stand as well. We got in line at 4:50 PM, ordered at 5:49 PM, and got our food and drinks not too long after. Our favorite was the fried tofu and I liked the drink that I got a lot too--the sticky rice black milk tea. One minor thing that we noticed is that the tax rate we were charged was incorrect for Walnut Creek. I believe WC tax rate should be 9.25% but the system had the tax rate set to Stoneridge (in Pleasanton), which is slightly higher at 10.25%. This was probably just a mistake so we didn't think too much about it, but just wanted to point it out!

[4.5 stars] Ume tea is the newest boba spot to bless the downtown Walnut Creek area and today (1/24) is the grand opening! With different promos going from today through Tuesday 1/26, make sure to stop by and give this place a try! I've never seen a grand opening event for a boba shop that was as organized as this location and just ready to hit the ground running. The workers had the A-board listing their promo deals, the trailer displaying merch, and the bunny inflatable all set up out front and were handing out bunny balloons to people in line all before they were set to open at noon. Menus were also floating around between the different groups of people in line giving everyone a chance to look at what they wanted before getting to the register #efficiency. Took about 50 min to get to the register since there's only one person taking orders. The worker taking orders was very knowledgeable of the menu and answered all our questions patiently. We ordered three drinks and a spicy fried fish ball snack. The waiting to order was the longest part! Once we ordered, our drinks AND food came out in exactly 5 minutes (not joking!). The crew they have working has got it down! If they can crank out drinks and food this fast during grand opening, i am sure wait times will be short during regular hours. I ordered the black milk tea with taro and mochi in a bunny cup and my SO ordered a small rice mochi black milk tea. My drink was solid. The tea flavor really came through and though I couldn't see how generous they were with the toppings because the cup for large size drinks are not see through, every sip had a good amount of mochi! I do wish that there was more taro bits in the drink. One thing to note is that Ume does not put a plastic seal on their cups for large size drinks. You get a plastic lid and put your straw through as usual. Why am I mentioning this? Because I ordered a bunny cup which is like a blind box and there's a separate compartment for the toy on the bottom of your drink (hence why in my photo, my drink is the tallest on the left). I have to subtract half a star because unfortunately, there is no flap to peel open anywhere on the cup to access the toy (yes, I checked everywhere). So I recommend finishing your drink first and then use some force with a key or pair of scissors to puncture the cup to get the toy afterwards to avoid the drink spilling. Hopefully they change the design of these bunny cups soon! The current design is def not good for the folks who want the instant gratification of knowing what toy they got lol. Onto the spicy fish balls! I thought they would use a powder but they used real pepper flakes with the seeds and everything. Def had a nice numbing spice kick to it. Would recommend this if you're into spicy. The box it came in was also pretty cute. The design had a bunny on it and the ears have a flap that can open to let all the steam out so the food doesn't get soggy. Overall, a solid boba place to the downtown Walnut Creek area. I'll definitely be coming by to try their other drinks and more snacks.

Went to the soft opening and the drinks and food are just as I expected. The drink creations at UMe have always been delicious and I'm glad the same flavors are here in Walnut Creek. If you've never had UMe Tea before, then definitely try em out. They set a bar for what milk tea and fruit teas should be. I know the place isn't fully decorated yet, but once it is it'll definitely have that cutesy aesthetic my gf likes.

Hojicha Tea: While I could taste the hojicha, it tasted a bit watered down and lacked the rich, toasty flavor I hoped for. Curly Fries: These were soft with an interesting flavor and not hitting the texture that I expect. Would love to give them another try in the future; hopefully these were just not the best items to choose from!

I ordered on the App, so my drink was ready when I got off of work. Cupid's Kiss: This was a special drink at the time. Overall, I found this drink refreshing. I do enjoy myself teaspoon here and there, and I like their new drinks the come up with. I look forward to coming back again.

The decor is clean, modern, and warm, making it a great place to study or just hang out with friends. I especially liked the kiosk ordering system--quick, efficient, and no pressure while deciding. The drink packaging is honestly next level. It feels premium and thoughtful, not just another basic cup. You can tell they care about presentation just as much as taste. And the drinks themselves? Smooth, refreshing, and high quality. Service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and fast without feeling rushed. The space was spotless, including the bathroom, which is always a big plus for me. Overall, this place nails atmosphere, quality, and convenience. I'll definitely be coming back regularly. Highly recommend if you want a chill, aesthetic tea spot.

I'm usually not much of a milk tea person, but the Bubble Volcano won me over. Made with fresh milk, brown sugar, and boba, it was rich without being overly heavy or cloying. The boba pearls were excellent quality -- fresh, soft, and perfectly chewy all the way through. None of that hard-center, overly gelatinous texture you sometimes get elsewhere. The sweetness level was also well-balanced and restrained, which made the drink even more enjoyable. My favorite was the Green Tea + Mango. Sweet, refreshing, bright, and satisfying. The drink tasted clean and natural, not syrupy or artificially candy-like. The twine rope carry handle is adorable! Super cute presentation and very aesthetically pleasing... although I'm 99% sure I'm eventually going to spill the drink everywhere while carrying it around. Worth the risk.

As for service, we received our drinks pretty fast which was impressive since it was just one man behind the counter. Ambiance is clean and quiet, but it seems to be missing something! Perhaps it's missing touches that will make the space cozy. I'm not sure if it needs a couch or cushions on the seats but those sorts of touches may encourage customers to hang out and keep the space occupied. Overall, great place to get your milk tea fix! I'd like to come back and try other drinks on their menu such as their vietnamese iced coffees.
