Talk about an overall Horrendous experience... First had to wait 10 minutes for the worker to finish his cigarette before being helped. He didn't even wash his hands before making my beverage & there was a hair in my drink. He did immediately fix me another drink which was nice. But what really UPSET me was when the worker and his friends waiting for him started speaking in Korean saying that I had no manners and was rude. I don't speak Korean, but my friend does. This is just really ridiculous. If you want unsanitary boba drinks and deal with rude people this place is for you. read more

This place is exactly how I remember it, warm and homey, but revamped. Their red bean fish bread is a MUST and their drinks are standard. Ive forgotten how cozy, spacious, and inviting this place was. I've been coming to this boba shop for about 5 years and I really enjoy this little spot. I used to come here almost everyday during high school, but now I probably only come once in awhile because of how busy I am. Their drinks always make me smile. Your typical local boba place - they have a good selection of flavors, and sometimes have interesting limited edition type of flavors too. They often have special deals, such as buy one and get one free (or at least they used to) so you go there during the right time to take advantage of their promotion, you can have delicious boba drinks quite cheap. I'm not saying this is the greatest boba place ever, just saying that it's a nice decent local boba place, if you live close by. read more

Honeydew Slush tastes like a melted melon bar!! Best Honeydew Slush I've had in a while :) and with Green Apple Jelly, I can't put it down! Place was completely empty when we arrived around 8pm, so our drinks were ready super fast. Looks like a nice place to hang out, lots of seating, TV, popcorn. My boys tried the iced coffee milk tea boba, they compared it to some other place we used to frequent and they said it was okay. Not the best but local and convenient when you get that boba craving. I tried a sip and it was extremely sweet. The young lady working was very nice. Will visit again and try some other flavors, noticed they have shaved snow as well. read more

Well this is a small little place tucked behind a strip mall. Good thing you can easily see the sign driving up Beach. I ordered the Coconut Milk Tea with Boba..after waiting 20 minutes, seeing the lady who was waiting for her drink that was there before me ask for a refund, I went ahead and was about to ask for a refund as well. But then the girl was able to make it in 30 seconds. -___- I didn't give one star because the poor girl was literally by herself working pretty hard at rush hour 5pm, there was a few people who ordered drinks for what seemed like 10 people. AND she was making food all while trying to get something out. As far as the taste, Meh. It wasn't bad, but not great. After *20* minutes, I'm not sure if a small drink is worth it whether it is good or not. I'm sure a lot of it was bad timing, but yikes the wait! read more

Usually, I'd give Boba Ya 4 stars, but a recent visit demoted it to 3. The reason is the actual boba/tapioca balls. I prefer my boba to be on the chewy & not overly squishy side. However, this time around, the boba was harder as if it wasn't cooked correctly and/or cooked halfway. I have tried their Red Bean fish cakes. Those are good, but it depends on who is making them. I've gotten some that were done perfectly and others that were a bit on the overcooked side. Note: if you plan on ordering these, be prepared to wait around 10 minutes unless they have some already prepared for you. Price: It's on the expensive side (for boba). I didn't realize until I've gone to NorCal just how expensive $3.25 is for boba. Compared to the other boba places in the area, Boba Ya's prices are around the same price range. I'm not sure if they still do this, but in the past, they had offers for $1 boba. You bet there was a line right out the door on those days. Now, this place is deserted except for the occasional study group in the corner or couple sitting at the tables. Location: Convenient. It's my go-to place when I'm on my way home and have a boba craving. Taste: Okay. My default is the Taro Slushy. Very rarely could you get that wrong. Bottom Line: I've been going here for 5+ years and will continue my patronage. Hopefully, this most recent visit was a fluke in terms of their sub-par boba preparation. read more

The location was a little difficult to find but you can't really blame the shop for that. It's in a little shopping mall area with not much else. Have your maps/directions out and ready so you don't miss it. The restaurant is small. Plain and simple and the Boba/drink station is very small. Plan for cash only or a $5 minimum if you plan to use your card. My friend ended up having to pay for two drinks. There were no exceptions. Drinks were relatively cheap I guess so that was a perk. We barely broke $5 with both drinks. Service could have been a little better though. My friend ordered a strawberry banana smoothie with boba which she said was pretty good. I defaulted to Thai tea with boba. The boba was alright. It was a little soft for my liking but overall it wasn't bad. Not much sitting room inside or out. There is a lot to love about this place. The customer service was fantastic: the lady who helped me was very nice and informative. They offer a wide variety of sweets that go beyond just bubble tea. My favorite aspect of Boba Ya is the overall vibe with their unique and fun design choices. The shop is extremely clean and organized as well. Now for the bubble tea. I ordered a Thai tea with boba as that's my go to for most boba places I try for the first time. For me, the tea was a little too sweet for my liking, but I am somewhat sensitive to sweet things admittedly. The actual bobas were warm which was a good sign for me. The texture of the bobas was perfect, but the taste was somewhat lacking. Overall, loved the store and the service, but didn't love the Thai tea. Worst milk tea I've ever had barring a place up in the high desert. Was in the area to visit family and figured a cute little hole in the wall place would probably have great milk tea....nope. An obscure space with a front and back entrance, cute decor and great service. Milk tea was a great blend and the fish shaped red bean snacks filled the store with a sweet aroma. There doesn't seem to be a big influx of customers, so I like that it doesn't get crowded. Cute little place with really good weekly discounts. They also have a wide variety of drinks, both hot and cold to choose from. I've only been there once and only tried one drink, but I was satisfied. I ordered their coconut slush which was a lot creamier and sweeter than I anticipated, similar to a melted coconut ice cream, but still good. A nice little place to stop by :) I'll admit the flavor can be inconsistent, at least with the milk tea, because some days it's nice and good while other times it can taste like water. I noticed it would be watery when newer employees would make it, so perhaps that's why? The boba is usually pretty consistent though and their Oreo smoothie is one of my favorites. I also enjoy the red bean bun and cheese bungeoppang (fish-shaped bread). I came here all the time after school as would other students, so it can be busy from time to time. They also have nice deals monday-thursday that have discounts on certain items and food. All-in-all, Id recommend it! read more

I've been coming to this boba ya for many many years. It was our family's go-to desert place. When it was super hot, we used to come here to eat their shaved ice. Anyways, I had to wait on my mom, so I came here after my work ended and waited. I had the peach mango smoothie with boba. I didn't have any dinner, so I ate some food that would replace the dinner here. I wanted fish cakes, but the machine was down. So I had the spicy popcorn chicken. Popcorn chicken was about 5 dollars and the boba was 4 bucks, so it was about 10 dollars total, which wasn't cheap. But since it's a cafe, I'll just think of it as money for using the space. This place changed a lot since I've visited earlier long time ago. The smoothie and the popcorn chicken was delicious, especially the smoothie. But the next day, I had a diarrhea and had a hard time in the toilet, so was late for work. I do not know if it was the smoothie or the chicken, but it might be because I ate in a cold air conditioned area. I do not want to blame this boba ya cafe. I had a good time, and if I feel like visiting when I'm in the area, I will. read more

It's an adorable restaurant with cozy tables, a couple of couches & sweet messages on the walls. They also have a unique sink in the restroom that's worth mentioning. This is a mom & pop boba shop with a nice interior, plenty of seating, and even an area with couches to relax and chat with friends. The boba milk tea here is delicious and affordable. There's something about the flavor that makes it stand out from other generic milk teas. Place: This is right next door to the hair salon that I go to, it's a bit hidden but im sure you'll be able to find it. The interior is nice and calming. Very open and cool, just a place for you to sit down and hang out with friends. There's also a computer to your disposal. Ive been coming here since I was a kid and ive used that same computer since then. Very nostalgic Food: there's different types of foods like popcorn chicken or fish jerky. Mostly sweets and desserts, like the all famous sweet red bean filled fish cake. Mmmm my favorite. And of course their boba filled goodness drinks.
