First thing I noticed was that the prices were fairly cheap for coffee! Especially for flavored lattes, normally other cafe shops charge more for flavor but it's just straight $5 for a flavored latte. I ended up getting a coconut latte and my bf got an americano ($4). Overall pretty cheap compared to many coffee shops around! It wasn't so busy so my coffee drink was pretty quick to prepare. Small coffee shop as well, it does feel a bit more older and not as trendy as current coffee shops, but it's definitely a place where people can just rely on. Trying out my coconut latte, it was pretty nice! Although kinda on the sweeter side. Coconut flavor was definitely pretty sweet, but wish it was more subtle and fragrant. The coffee itself isn't so strong but I guess that's what you get for $5 coffee haha. Still pretty good for the price you pay for. read more

I like how this place is open early and their iced drinks start at $5-$8 the jumbo cookies are really good $4 and they have wifi but not too many tables. They also show the roasting process and coffee making in front which is cool. I would get the iced matcha or the iced vanilla read more

I enjoyed my iced Spanish latte, which has a hint of cinnamon. It was empty except for one other table on a Saturday morning, so the space felt airy. The double espresso doesn't seem to be a great blend, but I liked how they served it Brazilian/Viennese style, with sparkling water on the side. There is only one decaf blend of coffee beans and most bags are medium roast (a couple are labeled medium-dark). Service was quick. read more

We are always looking for new coffee spots to try around my area and Van Dkye was one that I've seen but really never checked out before! It's not too far from me in a smaller strip mall, and while I had no trouble getting parking, it's a smaller lot and I could see it being difficult if it was busier. The space itself is clean and modern and they have a very good menu with some pretty reasonable prices compared to most competing shops. My partner opted for a pour over which is apparently their specialty, but I chose an iced banana latte. I was in the mood for a baked good so I picked one of their huge blueberry scones too. The coffee tasted great and the scone was delicious too! My order came out very quickly, and I found the service fairly friendly though not particularly standout. I definitely think if the mood hits me I'll be back to check out more of their menu and coffee! read more

This place is a good option for more of a social chat and food share situation, as I left unimpressed by the coffee (vanilla latte) but appreciated the blueberry scone value ($4 for a fairly large size) and the people-watching. Not sure I'll be back as I can find better $6 coffees elsewhere. Service was fine and they have seating for ~15 people inside. read more

The place needs some serious cleaning and updating. The tables and walls are filthy. The floor and ceiling is falling apart. The customer service is genuine and kind. The coffee is much cheaper here in comparison to other coffee shops. They offer a stamp card and I heard they'll add shots at no extra charge. I didn't try pastries but I also heard their scones are delicious. I ordered the strawberry latte and it was delicious. The strawberry was subtle and not too sweet or artificial and the espresso was rich and flavorful. read more

So happy I found another coffee spot that roast their own coffee! I brought their new Guatemala pura fruta. When you buy a bag of coffee, you get a free drink except pour over. I appreciate when they do that like other coffee shops. Not all coffee spots do this. I got their hazelnut latte and it was delicious. It's a small shop in the plaza. Coffee wasn't bad, however it was nothing special. Their banana coffee used syrup instead of actual fruit. Cashier wasn't the nicest and seemed like she was rushing us to order because she kept saying "hello? hello?" even after we acknowledged her by saying hello back and said we needed a second with the menu. Stared at us the entire time and told us she can take our order now right after we had just said we were still looking. Strange way to address customers and people usually need more than just 10 seconds to look at a menu. Mind you there was no one else in line and we only took a few minutes before ordering so there really was no need to rush us. Won't be returning as there's nothing here that you can't get better at another establishment in the area. read more

It was my second time here and I love how they expanded their seatings! Their drinks are still amazing! I tried the hazelnut latte w/ oat milk & toffee nut latte. $1 is charged for milk alternative. The location of this place is just across the Fullerton Municipal Airport. I walked in to a very casual atmosphere and a friendly greeting. It looks like a good place to sit and watch the plane land and take off. Unfortunately, there was absolutely no activity during my visit. I found the place on Yelp and wanted to try the blueberry scone, but it looks like I arrived too late. They said they're already out for the day. I opted for the corn cheese scone since it's not a common item. I bit into it and it crumbled very softly and started to melt in my mouth. They did a great job. The year of the corn is there for sure and I taste it. However, it was difficult to taste the cheese even though I see the melted cheese. I think I would have loved having small bacon bits in this thing. I visited the roastery on the side. They were actually roasting on site. Best way to get the freshest coffee in town. Van Dyke Coffee Roasters is located in a little plaza right across from a private airport. There's ample parking and lots of seating inside! Service is nice and I enjoy their scones (I recommend the sweet potato!) but the beverages are lackluster. Their green tea latte is watered down and too sweet and the banana latte is more heavy on the coffee taste. read more

Van Dyke is a hidden gem in Orange County. Their unsweetened latte, made with their own house roasted blend, stands out as one of the best in the area. The balance is impressive. Nutty, naturally sweet, and well rounded without needing any added sugar. The space feels old school but in a classic way. Nothing fancy. Parking is easy, drinks come out quickly, and the staff are generally friendly. Server sounds so sick and is coughing. I still ate my cookie and drank my drink though. Cookie tasted fine. Iced banana latte barely tasted like banana, just more like sweet milk coffee. I think they're going for a certain look, so the place feels like a rundown warehouse room. I don't know if I'll be back for a while. At least until the barista recovers. read more

OOF If you're in the mood for a caffeine-fueled adventure with a side of dessert that could double as a meal, this coffee shop is your place! I ordered a cold brew that had a perfect balance of bitterness and floral, but I wasn't ready for the cookie madness I had ordered with the coffee. The cookies. These weren't just cookies; they were *gigantic*, the kind of dessert that looks like it could feed a small village. I asked the barista for his recommendation, and he pointed to an unlabeled cookie with pumpkin seeds and cranberries. He said the one phrase which gets me to buy almost any sweet, "it's not too sweet and soft". AND YALL. IT DELIVERED. IT WAS SO GOOD THAT I THOUGHT I WAS DOING A FAVOR FOR MY HEALTH eating this cookie. I felt healthier and could feel my risk of cardiovascular disease drop. My caffeine-sensitive partner, ever the cautious one, opted for a decaf toffee nut latte. It was delicious and not too sweet, as he almost asked to get it less sweet but didn't, and I think the barista read his mind and erred on the side of less sweet. (You sir, know how to read your clients. Me, a semi health conscious Japanese girl and her tall af Korean partner who gives a vibe of old-man-playing-go-with-bitter-tea). With zero threat of turning him into a wide-eyed insomniac, he enjoyed a beverage without needing to do breathing exercises afterward. But idk man. He drank some of my cold brew. I guess he wanted to play the game, am-I-gon-sleep-today-or-am-I-doing-a-therapy-sesh-with-my-insomniac-demons. 10/10 would return--for the coffee, for the cookies, and for watching my partner make bad decisions by taking sips of my cold brew. read more

Visited this cute cafe with my family and we loved it. It's very modern and clean, and the quality of their coffee is amazing We got to talk to the owner (who btw roasts and brews the coffee himself) and he was so sweet & informative. He explained everything in detail, recommended drinks and snacks according to what we like, etc. Best cafe experience in a while! I went in to purchase some fresh beans. They smell great, so I'm sure the quality here is great. Customer service though, questionable. There is literally a sign attached to the section of beans that says "sample 12oz" after I made my purchase I asked, if I could get a sample of another style of coffee beans. They said "we don't do samples" I pointed at the sign and they said "oh they must've wrote the wrong word, because we don't do samples" and then proceeded to give me the wrong beans... lol we'll try again some other time, maybe... but the whole sign that clearly states "samples" and their response to it was off putting, the wrong word. This place was recommended by a friend so I went to check it out. We did a big group order of a an iced tea, a pourover of the Mexican blend, an oat milk chai latte, a hazelnut latte, and an iced caramel latte. The staff was super patient as we figured out our big order. They were very polite and helpful. They also told me about the stamp card they have for free items. We sat at one of the few tables while we waited. Drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time. I really liked my latte and I am kind of a coffee snob. It was flavorful and the espresso was strong enough. It was not too sweet or watered down from the ice. My friend said her chai was really good as well. read more

They have an amazing selection of drinks and while the lattes may be a bit on the sweet side for me, you can always ask for less syrup. The cookie was delicious, ask for it warmed up. It can get a bit busy so may not be the best place to study but definitely great to chat! read more

I decided to swing by this coffee shop that happens to locate right next to the Fullerton Municipal Airport. There were plenty of free spaces to park in the lot and most of tables in the shop were already taken. I quickly checked the menu and didn't see any drink that really stood out . Sure sparkling ade looks interesting but why get that in a coffee shop? So I ended up with Yelp's highlight - coconut latte. *** Coconut Latte ($5): The drink was alright - I could smell coconut flavor, but I couldn't really taste coconut flavor. Latte component was solid enough and honestly I probably should just get the drink without any syrup flavor. *** Service was alright and the latte wasn't all that bad. Today's quest to shop local brought me to Van Dyke coffee. I ordered an iced einspanner, which for me was a 2.8/3 due to the fact that as one of the other reviewers mentioned below the strength of the espresso simply was lacking in depth of flavor profile. I'm not saying that it was bad it's just for me with all of the competition it just fell a bit short in fact for me the flavor profile was more of a watery coffee profile rather than a deep rich espresso profile which is what I was expecting. Again everybody has a different opinion as to what's right for them so take my review for what it's worth. read more

Local coffee roaster in Buena Park?! I'm very pleasantly surprised and very glad. The menu has everything you could want from a coffee place: espresso drinks, drip, cold brew and pour overs. I got the EINSPANNER and it was great! The coffee has a great, full flavor. The cream was heavenly! The HOT LATTE is also very good. I don't have the words to describe it but at first sip, the drink seems milky... after a few moments, you can taste how strong the coffee is. Not sure who makes their pastries but the Cheddar Potato Scone is new to me and was very good. The Chocolate Chip Cookie with Oreo Cookie on top is also very good (and very large). There are plenty of available spots in the free parking lot in the shopping center VAN DYCKE is located in. There's also lots of indoor tables for hanging out. read more

The written menu advertises nondairy milk and ingredient modifications, but the kiosk doesn't actually let you select any of them. Staff told us to put substitutions in "special comments" and promised they'd be honored. They weren't- on a single order, twice. We ordered two coffees (oat milk, whole milk) and two customized breakfast burritos. It took 40 minutes. We were the only customers in the cafe. When the food came out, nothing was labeled / not the drinks, not the burritos- and staff couldn't tell us which was which. When I explained that one of us has a dairy allergy and asked them to identify the allergen-free items, I got a blank stare. We opened both burritos: both had cheese, despite my explicit no-cheese request. Their solution? "Can you pick it out?" No. You cannot pick out melted cheese from an allergen order. I was not offered a fresh burrito, just another blank stare until I specifically stated "I need you to remake this with the proper ingredients and confirm what you put in." Once again the burrito came out with no label, and when I asked for clarity on what was in it I was again met me with a blank stare. My partner's burrito was also wrong (pico she'd asked to have removed), but by then the 40-minute wait had made her late for work. When I asked for a refund on her incorrect meal, I was told they couldn't refund it "because she left." When I asked to leave written feedback: "we don't accept written feedback." Manager? Not in. Manager's phone number? Don't have it. But here's what pushed this from bad service to abominable: there is no way to hold this place accountable. At no point did anyone acknowledge a mistake had been made or make any real attempt to fix it- every wrong order was met with a shrug and the expectation that I'd just live with it. When I asked to leave written feedback, I was told they don't accept it. When I asked for the manager, they weren't in. When I asked for a manager's phone number or someone to contact, the employee "didn't have access to that." A business that serves people with food allergies MUST have a way for customers to flag problems in real time and reach management. This place has built a system where mistakes can't be reported, refunds can't be issued, and no one is responsible for anything. To be clear, this isn't on the line staff - one employee clearly hadn't been given the language support or training to succeed, and that's a management failure. The other younger employee was just incompetent and unhelpful, even though she was clearly aware of the requests. If you advertise allergen accommodations, you have to execute them, label them, and answer for it when you don't. Until this place fixes its ordering system, its labeling, and its total lack of accountability, spend your money literally anywhere else.

When I bit into them, I could actually taste and feel the fibrous banana strings, which made the drink less enjoyable. The banana syrup could be improved by using fully ripe bananas and taking the extra time to remove the fibrous strings before making the syrup. While it does require more preparation, it would make a noticeable difference. Ripe bananas are naturally sweeter, and removing the strings would eliminate much of the bitterness while creating a smoother, creamier syrup and cold foam. I also ordered the regular Matcha Latte, and personally, I found it more enjoyable than the Banana Matcha. That said, my all-time favorite drink here is still the Butter Honey Latte. It's incredibly creamy, rich, and full of flavor. I highly recommend giving that one a try!

I've been eating at Atoyubu religiously since it opened, but when Let Eat Yogurt opened in the same strip mall a couple of years ago, I thought it was just another froyo spot or something - I was dead wrong. Kkeu-deok is Korean-style thick yogurt that is thicker (think almost cream cheese like in consistency), a little drier, and due to the straining process, has more protein! Why hasn't this caught on in the states yet, I do not know... but it should! If you want to customize your own bowl, it works similarly to getting an acai bowl. You'll choose a yogurt base and how many scoops you want of it, of which they have a few flavors. Went for blueberry this time and it had delicious chunks of blueberry mixed in. Then you choose your toppings like freshly cut fruit, some sweeter options like mochi, things like honey and agave to drizzle/mix in, along with honey granola. The folks working there were also super kind and patient and were willing to walk us through the process as new customers. The fruit is delicious and very fresh, though the strawberries were definitely on the tart side. The yogurt isn't too sweet, but it's also surprisingly not that tart. So if you're expecting Greek yogurt level of tart, you won't get that BUT they do sell a grape yuzu yogurt that might be up your alley! You see, they sell packaged yogurt in to go friendly containers with some interesting flavors, so we ended up getting yuzu grape and banana pudding. I'm a banana pudding FIEND and I say that this is one of the best variations of banana pudding I've had anywhere. AND it's healthy and has lots of protein! There's seating and a restroom, but most of the (limited) tables are 2-tops so if you're coming in a larger group... might be tough! I had the chilaquiles with asada and the green salsa. The green salsa was very tasty. The asada was ok. My husband took some of my salsa covered chips to add to his tacos for more flavor. One annoying thing is the amount of single use disposable plastic they use. All the drinks come in plastic cups, even water, the salsas come in those small salsa containers with lids. I'm no tree hugger, but i think we do have a responsibility to be conscientious and not create more waste and trash than necessary. Just buy reusable and wash the dishes. It just seems lazy. You can tell the owner is trying to save money wherever they can, to the detriment of their customers and the environment. If they had servers taking orders at your table and real serve ware, the experience would have been better and maybe we'd plan to come back, but as it stands now we won't be back. Very Disappointing Experience -- Poor Customer Service…read more A friend of mine came to visit from out of state, and since she had been looking forward to having Korean patbingsu (shaved ice with sweet red beans) while visiting the U.S., we decided to go to Sulbing. We ordered patbingsu, bungeoppang (Korean fish-shaped pastry), and an iced café latte. All three items were placed together on one tray. Before eating, I took a picture to post on Instagram. Then, when I picked up the iced latte to take a sip, the lid came off because it had not been properly secured, and the entire drink spilled all over my clothes. I immediately told the staff that the lid had not been properly closed. Instead of apologizing or offering any help, the employees insisted that they had definitely closed it properly and that they had heard the lid "click." They basically said it was not their fault. What was even more upsetting was that they then walked into the kitchen and left us without offering any assistance at all. We asked for something to clean up the mess, but they told us that the tissues were outside and that it was self-service. They simply handed me a mop and expected me to clean everything myself. I was honestly shocked by the lack of basic courtesy and customer service. I went to the restroom and tried to clean my clothes with water as best I could. When I came back out, I saw the two employees inside the kitchen laughing and chatting together. At that point, I was extremely upset. Despite everything, I stayed because my friend had traveled a long way and had really wanted to try the patbingsu and bungeoppang. We tried to enjoy our food, but the whole experience left a very unpleasant impression. Later, when I looked again at the latte photo I had taken for Instagram before the spill, I could clearly see that the lid was not properly sealed. I don't usually write negative reviews, but this experience was so disappointing that I felt I needed to share it. Mistakes can happen, and I would have understood if the staff had simply apologized and tried to help. What was most upsetting was the attitude afterward -- no apology, no assistance, and no basic courtesy. I will not be returning to this location.
