Tried this place twice now and been going here because a friend really likes their milk tea with grass jelly. I'm not big on boba drinks and so I usually leave empty handed. The last two times I decided I will get a drink because one I was sitting down and chatting and second was giving them a second chance. I got the sea salt jasmine green tea both times. First time was toooo sweet. I had about a few sips and couldn't anymore. The second time I asked for half sugar but it was still too sweet and barely any jasmine flavor. I will give it one last try; third times a charm right? I will ask for 1/4 sugar and no sea salt cream which made it too milky. I think the sea salt cream is a new thing because I've seen it at another place. I've had a sea salt Thai tea in Austin that didn't use the sea salt cream but still had a hint of salt and lots of Thai tea flavor. I was hoping my sea salt jasmine tea would be like that. Having been to Boba Latte for over 10 years now, I can definitely say that this is still one of my favorite boba spots in Dallas! They have the BEST Hong Kong Milk Tea in the area - they never disappoint! If you're wanting to try something more refreshing, definitely get the Jasmine Tea (w/ boba) or the Avocado Smoothie - you can't go wrong with any of these! And as with most of other boba places nowadays, you can adjust the sugar and ice levels. The only issue that I've had throughout the years is the consistency of the boba - most of the times it's soft, chewy, and flavorful but there are times when the boba doesn't have that same texture and flavor that I usually get. The recently renovated Boba Latte is very clean and modern on the inside. They started serving food as well as Emporium Pies. I have only tried the boba which is consistently delicious. I guess I missed the boat on this one. When we first moved to Dallas, we were in the market to find the best place for bubble tea in our area, and this was actually the first place we tried. Both of our orders (almond milk tea and taro milk tea I believe) were just OFF. The flavor was funny, as in neither of them tasted like anywhere else we had had those teas (and we've tried a LOT of boba between Houston and Austin) before, in a bad way. We tried it again several more times as we weighed it against Tapioca House and Lollicup but each visit was more disappointing than the last (also if I remember correctly, before Fat Straws came along, they were the only place that accepted credit card). The only time I will say it was my fault and not theirs was when I ordered the Durian flavor...DEFINITELY not my cup of tea, no pun intended. That's definitely a taste I have not acquired. But yea, I really don't see why anyone would go here over the other places that are just a hop, skip, and a jump away. The only caveat I would add is that we only like milk teas, and not smoothies or slushies, so maybe that's what's good here? So I discovered a new drink today that probably has existed for quite sometime now. So as I was waiting for a friend to arrive, I browsed the menu and stumbled upon this flavor. Hm... My favorite bubble tea place EVER. My favorites are the green milk tea, black milk tea, and Julie's Special: a mango slush with mini pearls and juicy grapefruit pulp, very refreshing! The pearls here are fantastic, perfectly chewy and never mushy, but they do run out sometimes which is just the end of the world for me so brace yourself in case that happens. The drinks tend to be a little sweet for my taste (especially if you add tapioca) so be sure to ask for your drink "semi-sweet". This would be one of the better boba tea places in Dallas if they actually kept an adequate amount of items on hand. On multiple occasions, they've run out of pudding (my first drink filler choice), only to be told that they're also out of baby boba/tapioca (second drink filler choice) or regular boba/tapioca (my last drink filler choice). And if it's the end of the day? Forget it. They'll be out of everything except the weird flavored jellies. Telling customers you've "run out of" something is only a valid excuse when you are a food truck, a bakery or you're referring to a seasonal or rare ingredient. It doesn't apply when you're just too lazy to start on a fresh batch of powdered mix pudding when the first one begins to run low. Other than this one grievance, I really do enjoy Boba Latte. Their black milk teas are have a good tea flavor, and although it's a tad too sweet, you can always ask them to adjust the level of sweetness. Since I am on a hunt for good bubble tea, I thought I give this place a try after trying one at Lollicup by the Kirin Court just ruins my expedition. It was one evening after an hour of reflexology that I have a yen for good bubble tea. So my sister and I (actually she's my really good friend) decided to try Boba latte. I had the Taro (typical Asian) and the consistency of the drink is good. The pearls were a little old. I think it may have set in the syrup or honey far too long. This place has no room for a good sitting down sort of place. They only have a bar counter facing the parking lot, and a little table on the corner in the front end of the store. So we decided to sit and try to enjoy the bubble tea. Again, what is up with teens and their Hip-Hop music? I mean, can I get a break trying to have a conversation with my sister, when the background music keeps saying booty, ass, and smackin!? This used to be the place to go to because there weren't that many options for boba back in the day (aka 10 years ago). I used to get the avocado smoothie. It was my favorite and they used real fruits. I came back recently to their new location, which is right next to their old one. It's been a while since I've been here. We ordered lychee, Thai, green coconut, and Hong Kong milk tea with boba. There was only one person making the drinks and she was pretty swamped. I'm assuming this was why my drinks still has powder in them. They weren't fully dissolve. And every single milk teas we ordered tasted like diabetes. They were so darn sweet that I couldn't take more than a dip. So we let it sit in the fridge until all the ice melt to dilute the sweetness. That didn't help. We ended up throwing away our drinks. What's worst was that my niece said the boba doesn't taste good. It's sad when a 9 yr old, non-picky boba drinker recognized it. Anyways, the bottom line is they need to reformulate the recipes for milk teas. I understand you can ask for different level of sweetness, but super/extremely sweet shouldn't be your standard. I have been coming to Boba Latte since the new renovation from mid-2000's. Even though there are other competitors, for the price, variety of flavors, rewards program and text deals, how could you say no? My go-tea is the Jasmine tea, but I have also tried their Hong Kong milk tea, and that was really delicious as well. The only negative I will say is that it gets loud quickly if the seats fill up. The acoustics of the place are not great, but otherwise, I have never been disappointed. On occasion, I will get their popcorn chicken and/or takoyaki. I was meeting a friend here, but after reading the talk conversation about Avocado smoothies and seeing they sold them here, I had to try one. I was pleased to see they used real avocados rather then the mix I had read about on so many web sites. I was nervous though, as I don't really like avocados. I would also give 5 stars for the friendliness of the staff, the cool atmosphere, and the fact they put up with me starting my own dance club inside their store, although I was the only one in the store. Sunday after brunch, a couple of friends and I decided to celebrate Sundae Sunday, but ultimately ended up at Boba Latte in favor of some sweet beverages since it was near freezing outside (not quite the best time to grab ice cream). The store was a bit small, but their drinks were large. At a very reasonable price of $3.25 I got a large Thai Tea with boba. Their smalls are $2.75 which is still a fairly reasonable deal. As for the tea, it wasn't too sweet (like I've grown to expect at Tap House) so I didn't end up with a sugar rush/crash, but still had plenty of flavor. The biggest downside to Boba Latte was how small the place is. Usually I enjoy going with friends to grab a drink and chat/chill for a bit, and there was very few indoor seating, making it more of a grab and go kind of place. read more

I came here the other day after getting Chameli ($5 chicken biryani, f*ck yeah!). It was super convenient, right across the street. I have heard mixed reviews about this place so was curious to try it. I got a mango latte (it's the same as a mango milk tea) with boba. The drink part was good, but I have to say the boba was pretty bad. It was overcooked and wayyyyyy too chewy. My boyfriend got a Thai tea and it tasted pretty watered down. The ones at Java Land and Fat Straws are much better and are comparable to that of actual Thai restaurants. Maybe I came on an off day, who knows? They also didn't fill up me or my boyfriend's drink up all the way, which, after observing the people after us, seems to be a consistent thing that they do. I find that a bit odd... The prices are unbeatable, cheaper than any place I've ever been to, but I personally do not think it's worth it. Can't believe I have never reviewed this place! I love coming here for their teas! My favorite is probably the lychee black tea, with or without milk. Their teas are on the stronger side so unless you like that really floral taste then this might not be for you but on the good note, it doesn't taste like water after about 10mins of sitting out (which is what I hate about Fat Straws). Although they put a good bit of ice in their drinks, it just balances out as you drink it rather than completely water down. Their avocado smoothie is also very good and made with fresh avocados. The papaya smoothie is also delicious if you're into that. The jasmine milk tea is one of the better ones I've had around Dallas. Their thai tea hasn't been good lately though, tastes really powdery! I'm not sure what happened because this used to be quite good, please go back to brewing actual Thai Tea! Overall, I really like this place and I'm sad it's so far from me! I have tried many places that carry tapoica drinks but they do not compare to this place in my opinion. You can either go light and get one of their specialty tea drinks or try their smoothie. They have many selections that one visit isn't enought to try it all...unless you bring 5 people and have each person get something different and you try theirs. Just a suggestion. I usually get their Honey Green Tea with lychee jelly, semi sweet. Since working out, I cut off getting the tapioca because I hear they are fattening. Hong Kong milk tea is very popular now. The Black Tea isn't that bad either. These are light drinks. If you are not lactose intolerance, try their Honey Milk Tea. Very good! I must warn you. Only place in town that gives you option on the sweetness; semi-sweet, regular or super sweet. They offer five star treatment; a system that collects your points. So no worries about losing the tea cards that other places offer when you can have a key ring or a card! I'm a tea person, and have tried the Hong Kong Milk Tea. A little meh, but I absolutely love the Black Milk Tea, and I have it extra sweet! I'm one that consume a lot of sugar though. They often run out of boba though whenever you arrive at a busy time, too early, or too late. Honestly I don't mind because their boba is always top notch, where it is chewy and has tastes to it. If they don't have it perfect, they won't have it at all! Parking can be a hassle though. The parking lot service at about fifteen cars, and they share a plaza with a foot massage, salon, and First Chinese BBQ. When I have no cash for Tapioca House, I drive down the street to Boba Latte. This is my second favorite place for boba in Dallas. They have a great menu, clean place, and very friendly staff. The Hong Kong milk tea, regular milk tea, and peach green tea are my favorites here. They have the option of less sweet, regular sweet, and super sweet. It's great to know you can customize your taste. They have very quick service and its really a great place to hang out and chat too. read more
