I had high hopes for Ding Tea, as I had been to another one of this chain's locations with an excellent experience. I ordered with the Yelp check-in offer for 10% off, but not only did the employees seem unfamiliar with this, they also had me wait while they called the owner over the phone for several minutes and at one point took my phone in order to facetime my screen to him. I ordered a wintermelon milk tea, which was classified under the "tea" part of the menu and not the "milk" (non-tea) part of the menu. I ordered for the lowest level of sweetness. However, when I got the drink, it looked and tasted like straight milk. I asked the employees, who said that 1) the wintermelon milk tea is actually just milk, not tea (despite listing it under the tea-based drinks) and that since their sweetener is based on syrups, they ended up using less syrup for mine, hence why I ended up with a cup of milk. I'm grateful for the staff who went to lengths to figure out the coupon and also offered to replace the drink with a regular boba milk tea, but there certainly seem to he some irregularities and inconsistencies to this store's operation that could be improved upon. read more

I went for the soft opening and enjoyed the buy one get one half off deal! After reviewing the extensive menu, I decided on a kamquat tea and a strawberry Yakult (yogurt). The kamquat tea was fresh and citrusy. The kamquat gave an interesting bitter taste. I really enjoyed the Yakult drink. I have been wanting to try it, but worried it the flavor would be too strong. First time checking this place out. Since wife is a bit picky and was unsure if she would like their milk tea, I comforted her that I can always drink up whatever she doesn't like. When the cashier heard that, he was kind in saying that they can remake it for her if she doesn't like what she gets. I got the Mango Milk Tea at 70% sweet while she went for the Signature Milk Tea at 50% sweet. Both are super smooth with a nice tea flavor, and the golden looking boba are the prefect texture! I came to Ding Tea with a few friends to try it out since it was near UTD campus. The decor at this location is very aesthetically pleasing while remaining relatively simple. This is much improved compared to the Garland location which felt a little in your face with their layout. I ordered a Monster Latte which wasn't on the menu but was described as a Brown Sugar Milk Tea with fresh milk and added caramel. It was definitely one of the best milk teas that I've had. It tasted like what I would imagine a tres leches cake would taste in liquid form, I would heavily recommend trying this drink. The one in Cali in Sacramento is pretty good and I was interested in finding out if it was the same or any different. To my surprise, the taste actually tastes pretty much the same. I got the Honey Milk Tea w/boba and my boyfriend got the Taro Milk Tea w/boba. The one thing that we both noticed is that they don't have cheese cream or any snacks.
