My family got 1) a strawberry shake with grass jelly and 2) Thai iced tea with vanilla foam on top Both were really tasty and I appreciated that they weren't super sweet. Having grown up in Downey my whole life, I was pretty stoked to see not only a Boba spot open up, but a COOL one. This place has a hip vibe (which is not characteristically Downey) with its outdoor patio, string lights, and late hours. They have giant menus, literally, not just a lot of selections to choose from. However, as I now live in San Jose and frequent Boba tea spots up there, I must say I've become a bit of a boba/ tea snob, and while Boba Indeed is indeed (teehee) a cool place to chill, its real boba + tea drinks are mediocre. The tea quality and the boba quality are just not up to par with other spots. With that said, last night I ventured into a different part of the menu and i ordered a drink called "the avocado love affair" (condensed milk & fresh avocado). My fiance ordered "polka dots" (horchata, sweet red beans, boba). And these, in my opinion, because not classic boba & tea were delicious. I had real chunks of avocado! And his horchata was BOMB, albeit red beans in a drink is questionable. So, my rating comes from the actual namesake being "boba" and my expectations of such a place. A friend of mine had recommended I try out this boba shop, since I consider myself a boba fanatic. However, it did not live up to many of my expectations... When I initially walked in on Tuesday around 1 pm, a man at the register didn't even greet me but rather stood there. I don't always expect a welcome, but it's an typical thing all businesses should incorporate. He didn't seem to want to be there nor even bother to have a smile on his face. I felt uncomfortable and just wanted to leave if the worker acted as if he didn't even want me there. Nonetheless, the boba did taste very good and I enjoyed my drink, but the customer service... not so much. I always think that employees should come to their job with enthusiasm to ensure others enjoy their visit and don't spoil their experience. While they do have a great boba drinks....their rewards program SUCKS!! They need to rethink this. After buying 10 bobas you are rewarded with nothing more that 4 dollars with no Boba. This has been my favorite boba spot lately. The texture is good and so is the flavor.. it's a cute little spot if I'm not in the mood to drive to Cerritos and their is usually space to sit down and hang out. I love the Thai tea smoothie. Just went there for the first time and the strawberry and banana smoothie was good! The ice needs to be blended in a bit more though. The rating for the two stars is because the employees other than the cashier were messing around and having inappropriate conversations. Really cute interior and decoration but subpar boba. It's in a small strip mall located next to a McDonalds. It's open to a decent hour (10 on weekdays, 11 on weekdays). Service was good as the server was kind and helpful with suggestions since it was our first time. The menu was super extensive so too many options for us to really go through. We tried the Original milk tea Milk on The Rocks, Original Milk Tea Frappe, and Sun of a Peach (Creation Indeed). We all agreed that the boba was just alright but actually kind of hard.
