Very nicely decorated place with beautiful jazz music playing. I gave it 4 stars because prices are very high for just a drink. And we waited about 15min when there was only one other person in there. If I am paying that much for a drink (it was $9), I would think it would also be ready faster! I ordered a hojicha with crystal boba&pudding. And because I am lactose sensitive, I needed almond milk. Who knew that would make the total come out to almost $10! On a hot September day, we visited Boba ChaCha to get relief from the heat. It was our first time here took our time reviewing the menu even though we both end up ordering (2) Thai Teas. We asked if the sweetness could be toned down and they agreed to do it half as sweet as they normally would. The result was delicious and not so sweet which for us makes it harder to drink. They struck a perfect balance for us and we appreciated that. The staff chatted with us since there was not a line behind us and we enjoyed learning more about her. We stayed inside to enjoy our drinks before heading back out into the brutal sun and humidity. If you are in the area, I recommend you come here for your Boba fix. read more

Their lounge area were relaxing and well spaced with a brown leather couch, coffee tables and chairs. It's a perfect place to hangout with friends. I was knackered from my afternoon walk on the streets of Pasadena. Therefore, I searched for the nearest and the best tea place. I ordered a Mango Cha Green Tea (regular ice and sweetness). I must say I was disheartened and disappointed with my boba tea drink. It was subpar in quality and taste except for the boba pearl. It was purely watered down! I have years of drinking boba experience under my palate and this is one of the least favorite boba place that I like. On the upside, their service was on point, atmosphere was good and prices were economically fair. To conclude this review, I'm begrudgingly to give a high remark on this boba tea place. I was a bit sad that their deal was only for a specific selection of teas which wasn't really clear if you weren't familiar with the place. Either way we got 2 classic teas. The first tea was the White peach Oolong tea. It wasn't bad but I wasn't very impressed by how much it still cost. The second tea was a chrysanthemum tea...a tea that I have been craving for some time. The tea was really watered down. It tasted as if they just brewed the tea and dumped the hot tea of ice. Apparently it was regular sugar but it tasted like a hint of chrysanthemum to me. It was nice they helped us adjust it but it still didn't really taste very good. I think I would prefer the ones from the Asian grocery stores. A little odd note but they didn't even have regular straws just the boba straws and no sippy lids. Don't judge me, but I prefer to sip on my teas slowly! The workers and ambiance were really nice! There's a good amount of space to chill and they decorated the place well. I was in the area because my wife had an appt at one of the nearby stores. The store was small and there really wasnt a good place for me to sit or hang out so i just started walking around the neighborhood looking for a coffee shop or something to hang out. I found the place to be welcoming with a nice sitting area in the storefront. Ordering was easy as there was a self serve kiosk which was easy to navigate to customize my drink. Since i was the only person in the store at the time, it didnt take long for them to make. I found the customization option to be on par with a lot of other different boba shops which allows you to vary the amount of sweetness, and the selection of topping like different types of bobas and jellies to match your taste. Excellent shop! So cute and amazing service. We got the Signature and Earl Grey Milk Teas. They were good! We parked on the street across from the shop. I think this is a local shop, not a huge franchise chain. We ordered on the kiosk. The decor and seating are super nice! It wasn't too crowded when we came on a Saturday evening. Side note: originally I got a Lavender Milk Tea but modified with almond milk, 0% sweet, 0% ice, with lychee topping (they were out of blueberries), and it was very watery and not very yummy to be honest - I think it was the modifications. Middle school besties and I decided to get dessert after stuffing our faces at Lunasia down the street. So we did our search and found this spot. They also had fruit tarts which my girlfriends got a couple of. Staff was so patient with us. It took a bit of time for us to make up our minds, but it wasn't an issue. He was also open to suggestions which we welcomed. It wasn't long until our treats came through! Peppermint lemongrass drink is nothing like I've had before. They have their matcha latte ratio down to the T. Instead of the usual slight pour of matcha, Boba Cha Cha's latte had of the drink as matcha and the rest as milk. I was so glad I visited because I will definitely be back. I had to order the Army ChaCha because my son is in the Army. I absolutely love matcha lattes or coffee as it is, so why not just combine the two and add some boba. The interior design of the café is beautiful with all the greenery and fresh white roses on the tables. The woman who was there, who might be the owner, was so sweet as well. She offered to take a photo of me when she saw me taking photos, but I declined because I was in my workout clothes and no makeup. This place is a nice neighborhood boba shop, but I wouldn't recommend traveling for it. In terms of ambiance, this place is cute and would be a good place to study or meet up with someone. As soon as I entered there was no one to greet behind the counter just one employee in the kitchen making drinks. This wasn't the problem as I continued to order on the self service kiosk. At this moment it wasn't packed, just two people waiting for their drinks before me. It was my first time here, so I'm debating if I should get boba or coffee. Once she finished making the drinks and came to the front to give the two people their drinks I then got her attention. I started by asking her opinion on the cold brew, whether it's creamy if I add milk and flavor etc. She then let me know that they actually don't have cold brew (the kiosk didn't say that). At this point, I was glad I waited to ask because then I would've proceeded to order the cold brew which they didn't have. So I continued to ask what she recommends and she informs me an Americano is the closest thing to a cold brew. I have never tried an Americano before, but I trusted her. I got my drink and I didn't like it. I had ordered food from next door so I left. I'm enjoying my food and trying my best to enjoy this Americano drink and I couldn't do it. So after I was done eating, I returned to boba ChaCha. She is in the back making drinks so I try my best to catch her attention. Once I did, I kindly let her know I didn't like the drink which was barely touched. I took two sips and I couldn't enjoy it. Again, I have never tried an Americano, but it tasted watered down and not like coffee at all. The three things she told me verbatim: "I can't give you a refund back" "I'm not going to make you another drink" "I'm not going to remake it for you" After I asked her "what do you recommend I do?" Not once did I ask for a refund, I just wanted a drink that I liked because I spent my money on it. On top of not liking the drink she recommended?? Ordered the Boba Cha Cha with 25% sweet, boba and sweet salted cream. First off was the price! A whopping $9.00 for 1 drink? There was a service fee of 0.24 cents when we ordered with the kiosk. The drink itself was just okay. It was very sweet and the tea flavor did not really come through. Definitely not worth the $9. The atmosphere is great. The place is very clean and the lights are adorable. There's free wifi and a water stand near the door as well. If you're looking for parking, there's some street parking with a few paid parking structures nearby. Overall, even with the cute interior, for the quality of the drink and the price, I don't think I would return. read more

I was sold with the words .... rainbow crepe cake. I saw the Yelp photos of this pretty beautiful cake and I had to give it a try. Keep in mind this is a small shop so it wasn't always available and I had to try several times before I actually got a slice of it! But today was my lucky day! I had to take the cake go because I had to get back, so the photo does not do this cake justice. It is really well decorated and I could tell it's not easy to make. Each layer is a different colored crepe! How cool is that? The cake came with a berry sauce and fresh strawberries. Now for the cake tasting ... it was okay. I think it was prettier than it tasted. It tasted like it was a stale crepe with whipped cream. The crepe texture of each layer was not really soft, a bit firm like Al dente pasta. The crepes were a bit bitter than I expected and not sweet. As a measure of my sweetness level, I like my tea with 25% sugar. I drink black coffee and espresso. So if I don't think something is sweet, it probably isn't. So the berry sauce was much needed to give the cake some flavor. Between the layers of cake was fluffy whipped icing that didn't have much flavor either. It also is $14 a slice so .... Pretty steep to give it a try. A really cute boba shop in downtown pasadena that serves a variety of drinks. The interior is beautiful, with couches and lighting perfect for a photo op while you wait for your drinks. I saw a lot of reviews saying the boba was bad but surprisingly the boba in my thai tea was pretty good. The tea, however, had a weird smoky aftertaste that made it hard to drink. Lychee green tea and passion mango both tasted like pure sugar even at 75%. The sweetest tasting tea drink despite modified sugar (almost like it was made of pure syrup). The brown boba was unusually soft, almost falling apart (The texture was almost like that of a melted marshmallow). As much as I would want to like this place, it didn't seem to cut it for me when I went in person. It may have been the drink I ordered, but for something that seemed quite expensive for a tea drink, it seemed like I could get much tastier boba elsewhere. I got to speak w/ the owner during my order and she's such a kind heart woman and she's been putting a lot of work in this boba shop since it's been open 4 months ago! I love her attitude and how thoughtful she is to check in if my drinks came out as I liked. She shared w/ me some tips in where to find free parking I'm the area as well! There are a couple new flavors of boba pops, in addition to regular honey boba. Love how many of freaking fruit drinks they have. But the best of all is it's indoor seatings with plenty of space to do work or relax.
