Drinks are great and popcorn chicken is my favorite! Service is quick even when the line is long.

AVOID THIS PLACE AFTER 11pm unless u are willing to wait. And yes, their boba is worth the wait. Not sure If this is a norm but man, the wait is no joke. We arrived around 11pm and there are roughly 6 cars in front of us. By the time we get our drinks, it was 11:45pm. Their boba is super chewy and soft. Taste very fresh and highly recommended!!! Green milk tea - 25% sugar is perfect! However I wish there is more tea flavor. Brown milk tea - 25-50% is perfect! Not too milky and has that black tea flavor. I had high hopes for Boba Ave Express after reading all the good reviews. I ordered peach passion fruit tea with 50% sweetness and a Hokkaido milk tea with 100% sweetness. The peach tea was good but 50% sweetness barely had any sweetness to it .. it was almost very bitter but the tea flavor itself was tasty, just wish it came with more percentage options of sweetness. Now, the reason why I gave three stars is because of the Hokkaido milk tea. This was for my husband and when I gave it to him, he drank one sip and told me it was sour so I took a sip also and to my surprise it was SO SOUR like it has gone bad. We have tried Hokkaido milk tea at other places but never tasted sourness. It definitely tasted like the milk went bad and was served to us. I don't know if that was just ours that was bad but it worries me that it has been serving to other customers like that all day .. we drove two hours to come here and it left was disappointed and sad.. read more

It's been 4months since they changed to exclusively drive-thru and I can now say they have gotten somewhat of a hang of the drive thru. Today I got a friendly person taking the order which is a first. The times Ive come I can say some were having bad days to put it nicely. Ordered the popcorn chicken and i can say it's definitely worth the wait, sometimes the spicy level can be a hit or miss but still has good flavor. The drive thru is definitely convenient. I needed my Boba fix but all the place around were closed due to COVID-19. Boba Ave Express came thorough for the meet that fix. I was at first in the drive thru but there were 5 cars in front of me so I decided to walk-in since the line inside looked shorter. Menu: The drive thru menu is condensed in order to expedite the wait time. As for walking in to the store, the full menu is available. I ordered the strawberry smoothie with boba. I was delicious. If any of your friends tells you this place is good, I would question any further food recommendations they give. 1. Their milk tea has a viscosity almost comparable to Danimals. Why 2. All their drinks (albeit at 100% sweet) will give you diabetes. What ever little flavor is in the drink is muted by the overpowering sweetness. 3. Popcorn chicken has none of the expected Taiwanese spices and is barely seasoned. 4. The entire system is ridiculously inefficient and you will spend a majority of your time just waiting for a chance to order. 5. You have a 50% chance of getting in a car accident when you leave the drive thru as there is no visibility from the long ass line because they take too long. I see no reason to wait here unless you enjoy idling and paying for insulin. read more

In this COVID-19 madness, Boba Ave is coming out a winner. This was the first drive thru boba spot in the area that not too many frequented before but now the drive thru line spills onto Baldwin Blvd to the next plaza! I came once when they first opened years and years ago and drive by all the time and there has never been a line past their property. It is good that they have a drive through which makes it safer during these times. The workers are all wearing masks and they have hand sanitizer. Their drinks are pretty standard in variety and taste. The regular is large and the large is huge!! Good value and their boba is chewy as I like. I just get the standard jasmine tea here. The Hokkaido is very popular here but it's pretty sweet even at 50% and I'm not a fan of cheesy drinks. read more

I like this boba place and based on the drinks alone I'd give it 5 stars. My problem here is the service. They are nice and very helpful they need to hire more people to get the lines moving. More often than not I've spent more than 30 minutes in line here just to get a drink and often if I order food they tell me it'll take an hour. read more

Their teas are awesome! I'm not a fan of their drive thru ordering system. It could be much better if they have more staffs to help taking order like other fast food drive thru do. And then, have customers park their cars at the parking lot and waited. Staffs will get order to your car instead. I saw two cars in front of us just left because of the long wait. Again, I like their tea and the customer service. I would come back more often if they can improve their ordering system. read more

I love their strawberry yogurt blended drink with boba. They are open late too. Yummy

The drive thru boba concept is very interesting but not executed very well. You can't see the menu ahead of time when you're waiting in the drive thru. And when you can see the menu, it's literally your time to order. There can only be one order and one pick up at a time, not very efficient. And the order doesn't come out very fast, not sure why because we are the only one waiting (apart from the dining in people I guess). The line for the drive thru always goes over to the vons entrance, causing people to get mad and beeping. The drink itself is good but definitely on the pricey side. We got the jasmine sea salt drink, strawberry yogurt, and their dirty tiger sugar drink. Everything was about $5. The dirty tiger sugar drink we got a large and it was like 7 or 8 bucks, very expensive. If you really like it or you are sharing the same drink, it's basically 2 drinks. The large was like extra large. The strawberry yogurt drink was very delicious. read more

Not sure what the hype is all about. I got tricked by all the cars waiting in line so I also waited 40 min. We got the: - Sugar boba milk tea 50% - not good - Jasmine green milk tea 50% - ok, other comments said it tastes like soap I could see that - Strawberry yogurt blended 50% - pretty good but not worth 30 min wait Kitchen also closes at 11p but I was there before then and they said kitchen was already closed. Yay for Boba Drive Throughs in the SGV! I had been to the other one on Main Street, but I remember this being the first one. I was on my way back from the mall, wanting a caffeine kick, so I decided to pull up to the drive through. I was originally going to get some kind of coffee drink but saw that they had grapefruit and orange tea, so I opted for a tea instead. You order/pay at the first window and get your drink at the second window. Pretty easy process and the drink was good! I would come back to the drive through for the convenience. read more

Was craving boba and decided to try this place out because they had drive thru. There was a short line, but it moved fine. The girl who took my order was super nice. I tried the Hokkaido milk tea 50% sugar, less ice with boba. It was pretty good and the sweetness level was perfect. I have a sweet tooth but often find that boba spots put too much sugar so 50% was just right. The price point wasn't bad for a large. The boba was actually really good, chewy and yums. My friend had the jasmine green milk tea and the only critique I have is that the tea was very very light, wished it was stronger. Overall, I would give their boba a 3.5/5, but rounded it up to a 4 because the staff & service was great and drive-thru is a plus. If you did want to park they have lots of spots in the back. read more

This place has good drinks but the customer service here sucks and they take forever to make your drinks. I ordered ahead of time and it was already a 30 min wait time before pick up and when I arrived after my order said it was ready, it was not ready. They said it would be another 5-10 min wait so I waited patiently. I understand it's busy but when you say my order is ready for pick up and then make me wait not even 5-10 minute but actually 25 more minutes than my original pick up time that is not okay especially when they were making drinks for people who ordered in person faster than an order that's already been waiting. They only made my drinks after my mom complained to Ubereats and they contacted the store directly. The only other good thing about this place is that they will remake your drinks if you don't like it. I recommend trying the grape tea with cheese foam or Hokkaido milk tea. The boba topping is not that great here. read more
