Yelp does it again! After a rock cracked my windshield, I came here looking for somebody to replace it. Yes, there are several mobile repair operations around the bay area, but how good are they? It seems like you never know who's going to show up to fix your windshield. So I found Bob Santini here. Had never heard of him and really wasn't sure if he was for real. But the reviews convinced me to give him a call. Bob returned my message quickly and asked about my insurance coverage. I'd assumed that it wasn't worth it to report it to my insurance company, but he said that many people have policies with small deductibles for windshields, vandalism, etc. It turned out he was right! I called my insurance company and not only was my deductible $100 instead of $250, but Bob Santini was on their list of preferred repair people! Less than 24 hours later, Bob came to my place of employment (exactly when he said he would) and replaced my windshield. I learned that he has 30 years of experience and does mostly commercial work. He doesn't need a lot of new business, but despite that, he was always prompt and professional. And, oh yeah, he saved me hundreds of dollars. I gave him a check for $100 and he was on his way. Had a small chip in my windshield and did nothing about it for months. Then my friend got one in hers as well. I found Bob on Yelp, called him. He said he could fix it, but not while it was damp; to let it dry in the sun, then put tape over it to keep it dry until he could do the work. My friend did this right away, but I still put it off. Yesterday, I finally called Bob and we made a date for today. He was right on time, did the job beautifully, helped me with the insurance paperwork. I'm not proud to say I'd had a dime-sized chip in my windshield for over a year, but after 30 minutes with Bob my windshield is good as new and happy as an ice cube in the freezer! Bob was friendly, easy to work with, knowledgeable about his craft, and a pleasure to meet. He told me exactly what to do before the repair and came to my work's parking lot this morning to fix it up. Bob also helped me with the insurance coverage, and he's a AAA preferred service so that's a super big plus! Called on behalf of my boss, first to find out if this company goes to the persons home. I was asked how big the windshield crack was and told him that all my boss said was it was a really big crack, but he didn't even let me finish speaking and instead interrupted and said that's like saying someone has a lot of money! Bob refused to speak with me claiming he doesn't like dealing with third parties. I let him know that she doesn't have time to call and that's why she has me. Bob told me to tell my boss when she has time to give him a call or to call someone else. The only reason I called in the first place was because of all of the glowing reviews here on yelp. I guess sometimes it's a hit or miss. I think the most shocking is that he's supposedly the Owner of this business. read more

Well I didn't actually go to Bob's. But when a stupid rock hit my windshield in three places, I called him up after a google search for a place in Marin that could fix it. His office connected me to his cell phone and Bob walked me through analyzing where the rock had made contact with my windshield. Based on his thorough guidance, I figured out that I really had a ding (doesn't need repair) not a crack (needs repair) which may have worked Bob out of a repair fee but certainly made for an awesome Yelp review. Again, I can't speak to the quality of work, but the quality of advice and customer attention is top notch. read more

Bob was able to come out the same day and did an excellent job fixing a chip with some cracks radiating off of it. He only needed about 15 mins. I liked the fact that he was very clear on what damage could be fixed and what would probably be better with a windshield replacement before he came out (my crack was small enough for a quick fix). read more

Excellent! Replaced my windshield at my home! Extremely professional, easy, impressed me enough that I'd take the time to write a review on the glass guy! Takes the hassle out of a broken windshield. Just comes to the house and does a perfect job, takes none of my time and like magic, it's done at an excellent price. Everyone who I spoke with were very nice and knowledgeable, even briefing me on what is covered by my insurance, and it took them a day to come out and repair some of the chips in my windshield before they spread. I also have a friend who owns an auto detailing shop in Santa Rosa who said he is the only person he would trust for windshield repair, so when the time came that I needed a new windshield there was no question who I would go to. I found Bob on Yelp, and was VERY happy with his service! You can immediately tell he is very passionate about what he does and has a lot of integrity. He took the time to explain to me all about insurance deductibles and the type of glue he uses when he installs windshields, and how a windshield makes up 30% of the structural integrity of a vehicle in a collision. Had a ding on my windshield and what looked like a crack. Bob came by, looked at it, got a razor blade and some cleaner, and got rid of the ding. The "crack" was actually the site of a previous repair that, though fixed, can still create a light reflection at certain angle. Short version: nothing needed fixing and no charge for the visit. I just called the number on this website for Santini Windshield Repair. When you call the machines says to push 1 for Bob which I did. When Bob picked up he asked with an attitude "where did you get this number?". Told him from the website. When I told him I wasn't going through insurance and was trying to replace my windshield inexpensively he referred me to four other companies instead of his. Not impressed. read more

I couldn't be happier with the work Bob did replacing my windshield. He's truly a professional who takes pains to do things well and with great care, and his customer service is absolutely top-notch. When a design flaw with my windshield gasket led to some noise following the replacement - noise that I didn't discover until well after Bob had packed up and left - Bob came back twice to diagnose and fix the problem, and each time left my car cleaner than it was before he arrived.
