Some places don't want your business. Been coming to this spot for over 10 years. Mostly for a sub but tried other things as time went on. My pops however loves their subs, he's elderly and I try to watch his sodium so it's not an everyday type thing. Still stop by at least twice a month and treat the old man and friends. Always happy to support and tell others about the really good local spots. Thats what makes the local spots the real gems of our communities we can literally walk to them. The high cost of produce and groceries keep rising and it might be more expensive to buy those ingredients and provide the same level of quality. But the cost of respect and appreciation towards your loyal customers hasn't, and it shouldn't! Throughout the years I felt the quality had been declining but my old man loved them so I kept coming back. Neighbors would ask why I keep getting the subs and would all say the same thing "used to be good". Service has never been amazing, but I don't think expect it to, I'm just here for a sub. It tells me more about the owners/managers than I need to know. When the employees talk out loud about personal issues with equipment being busted or things being held together with duct tape don't exactly scream out safety, quality, or freshness. Even then I can get past it. When I see a business like this whose quality has declined, whose employees are aloof and allowed to treat the preparation and sanitation of food in such an unprofessional manner......Well, that tells me more about how you feel toward me as a customer. Maybe you're bigger than my favorite little sub shop that I used to tell everyone about. Maybe you don't need my dollars, or maybe I didn't spend enough to be treated with respect, I should've spent more. Either way it's obvious, you don't need my money. I've been a regular customer for past 20 years and the business has been going down in recent years. I ordered 4 subs and 2 were done improperly. They asked. me to drive back for one & asked if I could come back another day due to poor weather conditions. They said no because they needed to see the sub to make another one. People have said it already, different owner, different bread, different smell, portion sizes are different, and they are stingy with the meats. If you're not too hungry the small size is probably good, but the large is only a dollar more and the sandwich stays well in the fridge if you want to eat it later on. The place has parking too, which is great, but not a ton of spaces, but it's still better than a place with no parking lot. There was a little line when we went around lunchtime. We tried to order ahead using a tip from one of the photos here on Yelp but when we called no one answered. The team got a little behind as they made a bunch of orders around ours but I think we were delayed because I ordered their fries too. The fries were great but if you're in a hurry skip them and the subs will probably be out faster. Also I'd say go for fries or no side over chips because the chips are just Lays. The only option is apparently DoorDash, there's a link on Bob-O-Rinos website. I won't be doing that again. Everything is marked up and three sandwiches and four orders of fries was $56 after a 15% tip. The sandwiches were good. I had the American, my husband had the Italian. I ordered hot peppers on his and he didn't get any. I don't know if that's on Bob or if it's on DoorDash but that's annoying because it's 50 cents more. The bread was perfect, definitely a nice base for the sub. The coldcuts were definitely great quality. We also had cheese fries which were good. I liked my sandwich but if I have to pay that much more to get sandwiches delivered, I'll likely choose other options without such a steep markup and fees for delivery. Grew up on Bob O Rinos. Haven't been back in a few years up until just a few days ago and it didn't disappoint! If you're in the mood for a good ol classic sub sandwich, make it your life's mission to come check out this spot! My two favorites are the Italian sub and the turkey sub. A large sandwich is HUGE, you can def save the other half for later. My go to is always cheese fries with hot peppers. Something about the combo of the sandwich with the cheese fries and hot peppers is not only delicious but nostalgic for me. If you get it to go, make sure you ask for the cheese and hot peppers on the side. I grew up only less than a block or so away and even in those 5 minutes, the fries always got super soggy. The only downside is it's pretty expensive. The staff is friendly but not the most professional. Then again, they're pretty friendly considering and their sandwiches are #bae, so there's that.
