There was 3 of us. We had about a 20-minute wait when we arrived, but I appreciated that they had menus available in the waiting area to look through while we waited, that was a nice touch. We went for breakfast, and I ordered the breakfast tacos. They were absolutely delicious, and the bacon was perfectly crispy, just the way I like it. I also had a Pepsi (not usually my go-to), but I was pleasantly surprised as it was crisp, refreshing, and didn't have that weird aftertaste I'm used to. The loaded hash browns were also just right providing great flavor and texture. Loved the cinnamon-biscuits, they were warm and gooey. The sauce that they bring I know that it's supposed to be warm for an easier grab but ours wasn't. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was calm and quiet enough to have a good conversation without needing to raise your voice. Bob Evans normally wouldn't be a choice of mine to dine as I like local restaurants but I could walk from the hotel. My waiter was friendly and attentive. I started with a citrus drink that was really good and refreshing. I went with the Alaskan Cod for the entree and it was huge. I chose fries and a fruit cup for the sides. The fruit cup wasn't really a fruit cup but had a lot of grapes; melon slices and a strawberry so much more than I was expecting. The banana bread seemed to be the bread to order from seeing what other tables were getting. I didn't care for the dessert I ordered but that isn't the restaurant's fault. We are longtime Bob Evan's fans since our introduction to them 30 years ago. We've also watched them struggle to stay relevant and popular especially lately. Some places, frankly, are hit or miss. This location today was more hits than misses. Promptly greeted and whisked to a clean booth, our server Emma (?) knew the menu inside and out--never missed a beat. I like that. Food was very good and surprisingly affordable. The banana bread as one of the complimentary choices, was a welcome treat for my turkey dinner. Mmmm. We hadn't been to a Bob Evans in years and weren't planning to go to one. However, while trying to find the Cracker Barrel that was supposed to be at this exit, then not finding it, we came across Bob Evans. Well, then that's where we'll have dinner, we said. Upon entering, we were greeted and seated. Our server was friendly and efficient, the place was clean (except for that musty smell we noticed). I got "chicken fried steak" and chose green beans plus mashed potatoes and gravy for my side. My husband chose the turkey dinner which had sliced turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing and cranberry sauce. We both thought our dinners were good but nothing to write home about. Bob Evan's is one the best national chain Diners. It's clean and comfortable. The staff is super friendly, and the food is nicely done. Great breakfasts. I had the fish sandwich for lunch today and was quite happy with it. I have a hunch that the management treats the staff well, and it's reflected in the cheerful service and well maintained premises. We take a lot of long road trips and find this chain to be the most reliable and healthiest. If the menu offered more healthy, low fat options, it would merit 5 stars. read more

Today we decided to go to Bob Evan's for breakfast with our kids and we were told the wait was 10 minutes and it was 30 minutes and then they forgot to take names for people who had been waiting after us and they had people sitting in front of them. Then we were seated and waited over an hour for our food. Then we received our food and it was cold. The waitress had a terrible attitude. The bathrooms smell horrible. No wait to get seated during lunch time which was great. First time trying this restaurant. my First impression was where's the A/C. I mentioned it to the waitress, and she said they have been having trouble for a couple weeks. Someone would come work on it but it did not last. Fortunately, when we were there the temps outside were in the high nineties. Still it was a big distraction. The food was great. I had the chicken fried steak and mashed potato's. I was impressed with the quantity because at Cracker barrel you get on piece of steak verses bobs two and cracker barrel skimps on the gravy. Bobs had plenty. Not too much but just right. I also liked the impulse buys at the register. I love banana bread and bought two which were very good. My wife picked up four or five cow tails which she said she had not seen since she was a kid. Went there for biscuits and gravy breakfast. They ran out of biscuits so it took 50 minutes to get our food from the time we ordered. They offered us dinner rolls instead of biscuits. Who wants rolls and gravy??? When I did get my food, you could tell my omelet had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite awhile. My hash browns were greasy and cold. They never came over to ask how our food was once we got it 50 minutes after ordering or apologized for how long it took for our food to come out. If they had told us when we got there it would take 50 minutes to make more biscuits, we would have ordered something different or left. read more

I had seen a tik tok about their menu and it intrigued me so much I wanted to go. I don't know why I had always skipped it before but we won't anymore! I would like to offer a service to them as this would add value to the customers that come to enjoy the food they advertise as being the best. The service was subpar and listening to how a waitress asked a customer what they want instead of anticipate the normal needs would have added more to their experience. The set up can be improved to be more efficient. This goes for the running around the waitresses do just to achieve their job. Teaching the staff how to move more efficiently would go a long way. The day I came in it also appeared they were over staffed on the floor and understaffed in the kitchen which is creating a bottleneck to serve the customer in a timely fashion. There could be another opportunity to actually gauge how long the wait is as people want to come and eat and leave. This Bob Evans is located near Interstate 95 at exit 95. We were looking for a lunch spot during our travels. We know this place is not available locally, so we decided to come here during our travel. Plus, it was around lunch time anyways, so it worked out. This place is a little crazy to get to when you don't know the area. There were two lanes going into the Outlet Center, where this place is located. On the way out of the outlet center, you'll need to go through a roundabout as well. Our visit here was on July 25, 2019. When we came in, it looked like it was closer to the end of a rush that they may have had. Either way, we were immediately greeted and then seated when we came in. Within a minute or so, our server was at the table asking for our drink orders. After getting the drinks, she asked if we were ready to order, but we needed a few moments as they do have a large menu. After a few minutes, she came back and we were finally ready to order. I ended up going with the Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. My mom went with the Pick Two Combo with Cheddar Baked Potato Soup and a Loaded Baked Potato. After about 10 minutes, our orders came to the table. The food was nice and hot. The burger was cooked just as I had ordered. The burger was juicy and tasted great; it definitely hit the spot for me. My mom said the pick two choices were nice and hot, as well as tasty too. Our server did come to check on us while we were eating. Once we were done, I asked about getting drinks for us to go on the road and she got them for us. Overall, the food was good and the service was as well. Bob Evans has been my favorite local restaurant for breakfast a couple of years now. Breakfast is my favorite meal & I appreciate that I can order it anytime of day or night at Bob Evans. It's a great place to meet up with friends to catch up on things because you can order dinner as well. The wait staff is always courteous & helpful. They pay attention to details which is important to me bc I like crisp toast & crispy home fries & bacon; however, I don't like my scrambled eggs over cooked. They get it just right!!!! I have family in Charleston, SC, which is my hometown. But now I live in Richmond, Virginia. Every summer my daughter spends 2 weeks with my mom. We usually take her to Charleston but my mom and sister meet us halfway when we pick her us so we can have lunch or breakfast together. For this handoff, we picked Bob Evans. Bob Evans serves breakfast all day, plus they have dinner entrees, sandwiches and salads. I did some advanced recon on the menu and thought I would end up going for a Cobb salad (it was 11:30). But when I saw on the menu that it has 1,000 calories, I was shell shocked. Ugh! Everything that tastes good comes with a high calorie price. Okay, so plan B. Omelets had between 600-800 calories. I can live with that and I like omelets. I selected the western omelet with a side of fruit and rye toast, and an unsweetened tea. Everyone else ordered a variety from goat cheese and veggie omelet, two-egg breakfast and eggs Benedict. The food was fine, but nothing special that would make me go out of my way to eat here. The western omelet was supposed to have ham, cheese and veggies and it had some but was mostly eggs. I think there were maybe 4 tiny cubes of ham in the whole thing. The toast also comes with butter on it, which I don't like, but I didn't send it back because I should have requested no butter. FOOD: * Chicken noodle soup had the thickest noodles known to man & hardly any broth * Steak had a Salisbury / School Lunch-like consistency * Broccoli & Mashed potatoes were good, but served were unfortunately served cold * French Fries could have been great if they were hot * Fried Cod was the best thing we got and was the only thing that wasn't cold * Sweet Teas were great SERVICE: * Had to ask to be seated because no one acknowledged us when we came in. * Empty glasses and soup bowl stayed on the table until we left. * Was told we'd get rolls while we waited for our orders. After 10 min, I politelyvreminded her that we didn't get our rolls. A pointless gesture because another 15min went by and we just got the food & rolls together... * Waitress never checked in with us. Even when she gave us our food, she just dropped it off and walked away. She didn't even ask us if we wanted / needed anything...but I mean...it's not like we'd get it from her if we did. * Worst service I've ever experienced and witnessed. I watched a person try to wave the waitress down SEVERAL TIMES, (for at least 15min I might add) and finally gave up. She got up and left, but the waitress didn't even notice until 10 min. later.
