The most friendly staff I've ever met in a restaurant! Even the cook staff welcomed us. Everyone was smiling and genuinely glad to see us. The food portions were larger than the pictures on the menu. I had the All Day Breakfast and my wife had the pot roast. Both were delicious. The atmosphere was clean and comfy. This was a 5 star experience so don't let the 3 star rating fool you. Plus, the best strawberry lemonade I have ever had! If you are in the Petoskey area, stop by and enjoy a meal from the great menu to choose from. Highly recommend! read more

We were on a road trip from Chicago to Petoskey and before heading home needed a good hearty breakfast. My friend Jackie had never been to a Bob Evans and we don't have a location in Chicago and I told her she must try it. You can never go wrong with Bob Evans anytime of the day or night. We arrived and were seated immediately and our server was ready to take our order as soon as we sat. She was very friendly and our food came out very quickly. I ordered a cup of sausage gravy which is my personal favorite and the Everything Breakfast which has ham, sausage, bacon, eggs, cheese and vegetables. Jackie tried the Big Wrangler Breakfast with biscuits, sausage gravy, two eggs, cheddar cheese and green onions. Everything was superb and its just seems the portions are smaller than the last time I ate at Bob Evans in Steubenville OH a year ago where the services as as horrendous as the city. Our service and the speed of which were were able to eat made up for the size of the portions. Its just that way everywhere currently considering the economy. UNDERSTAFFED! These poor girls are totally on the run. I suggested roller skates, but the dining room is carpeted. So the wait to be seated or for our food doesn't fall on the ladies. It's not entirely management's fault, either. They can't get workers. Same problem next door at Applebees. They're offering $17.00+ per hour and still they can't get anyone to bite. It was ten minutes before we sat and we only waited five minutes before meeting Trinity. Five minutes later we had drinks and only another ten for our food. Pretty damn impressive! Trinity had this habit of visiting the table every ten minutes and refilling water and tea glasses. The restaurant is also designed so that everything you could need is less than fifty steps away. Literally less than a minute. I had a senior citizen portion of Hot Turkey with mash and dressing. Add the buttered rolls and it was a pretty filling meal. It tasted fine and was incredibly reasonable. The few bites I had of Mrs. E's Grilled chicken dinner weren't very good. Dry and bland. Not even salt or pepper helped. Great price, though. Short staff also means bathrooms need attention. The service was so wonderful I can overlook that. 09/23 read more

My wife and I brought our two grandsons in for a late breakfast. I don't remember the hostess' name, but she had a stocking cap on, it seemed like we were bothering her by wanting to eat there. We all heard her call one of her co-workers a name she shouldn't have, which wasn't good with the kids there. The food and service were good, except for her. read more

old lady at the counter must be racist or just a full time bitch. At least the manager seen here actions. Ask politely for a couple extra packets and insisted there is "1" in the bag. For 2 orders of hash browns? so I had to open up my bag and pull out the one and ask again politely and then she replies sure with over 20 packets in her hand. said no thank you and grab 2 as I made eye contact with the manager. All of the food was delicious. The restaurant was quiet and clean. The staff was very friendly. Our waitress came to check in on us every 5-10 minutes it seemed like. She served my mother coffee a few times. They also had highchairs for customers with small children. I used one for my 1 year old. He enjoyed it. It seemed to be a little old and dirty but it was clean enough for him to sit in it. The service was fast, we didn't wait for our food that long. This place is great for family. Excellent breakfast, friendly and professional staff. After a week long trip north of Petoskey, MI where literally every meal cost us north of $40-$45, was nice to eat a hearty breakfast for nearly $30 for all three of us. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious, and the restaurant was extremely clean and well maintained. read more

We order pickup from here pretty often. Tonight, the app allowed me to order to pickup today, but popped the pickup time to tomorrow morning. I called and the person who answered the phone (name began with a W) was a little bit of an asshole. I started telling him what happened and he, very bitchily, said "THAT'S BECAUSE WE'RE CLOSED." I was still polite and asked if he could cancel the order for me. It sounded like he dropped the phone and then another person, who I assumed was a manager, named John picked up. I told him what happened with Mr. W and he gave me an "Oh I'm sorry." One of the most fake that I've ever heard. He said he canceled it for me and we were good. I know that businesses are having a tough time right now. It isn't their fault that the app screwed up & I definately wasn't angry about it. Stuff happens, but if this is the attitude that W is giving now when it's still cold, wait till the summer Karens get here. I promise that they all will be angry and rude. read more

Service has really been awful and extremely slow each of the times that I've been to this establishment. It doesn't matter how slow they are, it still takes an absurd amount of time. Came here for breakfast the food was overall good but the waitress there messed up my drink and gave me unsweetened tea instead of sweet tea and they said they accepted Apple Pay when I went up to pay they said they didn't accept it absolutely ridiculous the service is horrible the food is good though I do not recommend coming here if service is everything to you. read more

We've not eaten at this restaurant for several years because the food and service had become SO bad back in the mid twenty teens. Today is Mother's Day and God blessed me with sons who can't cook. We decided to give Bob Evans another try and put their carry out to the test. I am thrilled to report they knocked it out of the park! We had five people to feed and did so without a single complaint! Now that's saying something! We're 15 minutes from the restaurant and the food was still warm when we got it here. We ordered it last night for a 10am pickup and we did so with no waiting!! In this post Covid age we're living in, it's great to be able to give a great review for outstanding food AND service!! Now! This is pathetic. Walked in an hour before they closed and the wait staff was arguing about not wanting to wait on people. The lady at the register doesn't handle stress well. Tension is thick here. If you cannot have people serve customers, don't open your restaurant. We get you are understaffed, fix it. It has been this way for a long time. Asking customers to be patient longer is not acceptable. Crappy restaurant!!!!! Had to ask 5 times for drink refills and for banana bread. And the banana bread was a disaster. The worst part was there was a manager in the restaurant ( big hefty guy) and didn't even come out to help his staff. Sad. I have NEVER been in a restaurant so poorly in my life. We had a very interesting meal here. We stopped in while traveling to have a relaxing meal. First let me say the meal was prepared perfectly. All 4 dinners were very good. Service was a little slow but I'll explain that. We all know it's hard to find good restaurant help right now. It seems they are all having trouble. We were greeted and seated right away. A waiter came up and took our drink orders. Shortly after that he came back and announced that he had just given his 2 week notice but he was happy to serve us. He took our drink orders and then came back with the drinks, took our food orders and announced he leaving as soon as he served our food. He was announcing this to his whole section. There were ony about 3 tables. Then we sat and waited. Nothing. He left! He walked right out in the middle of serving 3 tables of people. The cashier and manager promptly stepped in and delivered our food. Fixed the mistakes. And finished serving us. They handled it beautifully until we got to the register and the girl proceeds to tell us her side of the story. We get to the car and all four of us crack up laughing. Our day had been going pretty badly but this just topped it all off. As we left we noticed a sign on the door that they closed the dining room due to staffing issues. I wish them luck in finding better employees. The restaurant was small but it was clean and the food was perfect. The entertainment was the best we had all week. read more

You can't beat this place for breakfast or lunch but they need to bring back their chicken pot pie - it was my "go to" for supper!!

I think this restaurant did a good job with the service especially because we are going through a pandemic and social distancing. Our waitress was really nice although I don't remember her name. Our food was really tasty and they came at a timely manner. If I were to visit this place again I would definitely go back to the Bob Evans there. It was clean the bathroom was really clean and that was some thing that I noticed that was really good. And I love that they had souvenir that you could buy at the front. read more

Not very efficiently run. We were told 10-15 minute wait, but waited closer to 30. Told we could sit on the benches and wait but multiple people sat there with zero cleaning occurring so we passed. Not that busy, but they had half a dozen tables waiting to be bussed most of that time. One server walked by a half bussed table at least 10 times before she decided to finish it. At peak of breakfast they ran out of banana bread and we were told it will be "a couple hours" until they have more, again a management issue. A server, not ours, apologized for the inefficiency. Came in on a Monday night at about 7:45pm (they close at 9). The first girl behind the counter asked if I was there for carry out with a hopeful tone in her voice. I said no I would like to be seated please. She immediately turned around and asked two other servers to seat me. One of them did. I ordered soup, country fried steak with mashed potatoes, coleslaw & a cookie as well as a coke. The soup had scallions on it....I wasn't asked if I wanted them. I ate them but was just surprised the soup came that way. The rest of the dinner arrived before I was halfway done with the soup so it got cold. I had to ask for a refill on my coke. The rolls were never brought out. Overall I felt as tho the staff wanted to be able to close early or something. Pretty disappointed in the experience. read more

We've been in here a few times during Covid generally they do a good job. Today we were in after 15 min wait. Ordered coffee and tea and food. Waited another 30 min never got offered more coffee. Asked for coffee and cream waited another 10 min for cream still no food. Guests who arrived after us were eating. We asked our absent inattentive waitress to check on our food she got upset when we asked her to and said she was very busy. Finally got food without complete food order. At that point wasn't hungry. Waitress was rude and non apologetic for our wait and service. read more

My wife ordered breakfast to go while I was at Home Depot. Not knowing what she ordered I assumed it was all in the bag when we picked it up. When I got home she discovered several missing items. She called and they offered her a refund for the missing items. No apologies. The eggs were undercooked as well. I fed them to my dogs. Was never asked how I wanted my burger cooked my husband's was underdone he also was never asked how his egg was to be cooked on his burger and it was over hard. and I asked for mayo instead of A1 on my steakhouse burger and didn't get it. Also we ADDED sides of Mac n cheese to our meals and they were substituted for our fries so we had to ask for our fries that should have come with our burgers. Priced right, good quality food, decent service. I feel this can be said of most Bob Evans restaurants. We had the country fried steak and a chicken and noodles dinners. Both served promptly, hot, and very good. My only real downfall with this restaurant seems to be management. Things here just don't seem to flow as easily as they should. But ok. read more

Absolutely LOVE! Excellent prices. We've been going here for almost over a year now, at least once a week and I don't think we will ever stop. They had a really delicious spinach bacon biscuit bowl that unfortunately discontinued and that's coming from a girl who doesn't like any of the three main ingredient in that dish! It was the best! Now they have an egg skillet that is just as awesome! The crepes are very very good and filling for there size. I don't like shrimp at many restaurants but Bob Evans cooks it SO Good! I love the food at Bob Evan's. The staff is friendly and outgoing. I always seem to get the same thing, which includes their yummy rolls. I could eat those rolls as a meal all on its own. And the peanut butter cake is so decadent and yummy. It is a party in my mouth. read more
