Family Size Farmhouse Garden Side Salad

We got rotten lettuce in the salad and the sweat tea was old. The waiter was rushing us the whole time so we didn't really have time to really enjoy the experience. Honestly other than that the foods weren't horrible and the place was very homey feeling.

So we ended up with Bob Evans, after trying to get takeout elsewhere. We hadn't ordered Bob Evans in quite some time, because our Bob Evans here is absolutely horrible the majority of the time. And last night proved that it is still horrible. They had a "date night dinner for 2" option, which I ordered with online ordering. It's roughly $22 or so, but I got the pot roast, which was a $5 upgrade, and my husband got the turkey dinner, which was also a $5 upgrade, so it ended up being about $32. With that you get, two soups or salads, two entrées, and a dessert to split. My soup if you want to call it soup, was so dry, that it's just literally a cup of potatoes (I got the potato soup). I'm going to add some chicken broth to it today, and try to bring it back to life. The amount of pot roast they gave me was so small, it was absolutely ridiculous. Taste wise, it was pretty decent. But the serving was not worth the price; especially with the $5 up charge. My husband's portions were normal sized, but drowned in butter and gravy; you couldn't even tell that his mashed potatoes were mashed potatoes. His green beans were advertised with ham in them, not one piece of ham was in those green beans. Then they forgot to bag the dessert! If I feel up to it today, I'll probably run over and pick up our dessert, because we did pay for it. But that'll be the last time I give this Bob Evans, a chance. Dinner left us underwhelmed to say the least.

Frozen tomato and raw sausage

Thought we were going to get a good breakfast while traveling. Well that did not happen. No fault to the waiter Deb, she was awesome. Whoever is cooking need a refresher course. Being that my husband and I are both cooks the food was just not to standard. My husband got the whole hog with over easy eggs and tomatoes. And I got the berry breakfast with French toast. Where do I start. Well for one tomatoes are not suppose to be frozen. And my husband sausage was raw. His eggs were not over easy, they were fried hard. And non of the food was warm at all. Needless to say we will not be back, third time and it got worse every time. Guess we will find a new spot.

I put the container next to a regular sized container to show small the portion is. NOT as pictured

I have placed Several large $ orders. I love the food; however, an item I received today was totally unacceptable. I get that inflation has caused prices to rise but what I got, I consider price gauging. One of the items I ordered was the Sunshine Skillet. It was not close to the size pictured, and came in a very small container. What I received pre inflation should have been no more than 4-5$. Post inflatio, perhaps 6.50$. I paid 10.60$. WTF. The picture on the website has the same portion as the large container. Eggs, gravy, cheese, etc. Ain't steak or lobster in that small container Grrrrrrrrrr

Press on fingernail in my salad

Normally, I enjoy dining at Bob Evans, but I'm done now. After almost completely being finished eating my Wildfire Chicken Salad, I crunch down on something. I pulled it out of my mouth and it was somebody's press on nails. How disgusting is that? Ruined my appetite for the entire night and now I cringe when eating. I get it, --sometimes things happen, but this was an avoidable mistake. Make whomever is making the salads wear gloves! This is so unsanitary when people are handling your food and their nails end up in your food and then in your mouth. FDA will have a field day inspecting there. I don't have any more plans to visit Bob Evans. It has totally grossed me out.

My God! This was so NOT good. I had to split this with my daughter and she usually eats anything and she couldn't. The cheese was watery, the eggs were also watery making my hash brown soggy!! I even added sriracha and that couldn't save it! Plus they forgot my biscuit. I will never eat here again. Now I'm just going to eat a bowl of cereal because babyyyy this is not it!

This was my first time ever at a Bob Evans. I always pass this place and decided to try it out for breakfast and it was pretty good. There was no wait time and staff was super nice and made sure we had everything we needed. My only small issue was one of my biscuits were so hard I couldn't eat it but the other biscuit was nice and soft so Im not sure what happen to that one biscuit lol. But other than that we enjoyed ourselves and even had some small talk with a couple other customers, I will be returning to try other things on the menu.

Walked out. 45 minutes of waiting for scrambled eggs. No refills on drinks or communication from waitress. The place was not busy.

Our bartender/server was Lashone and she was funny, fast and friendly! She was pouring drinks for the ENTIRE restaurant and didn't miss a beat!! The breakfast menu is small but everything sounded fantastic. I chose the Steak Tacos; my husband chose the brie and bacon frittata (added by the chef since the quiche was sold out. Steak tacos were delicious (see pic). Menu said they had steak, cheesy scrambled eggs, tomato salsa, breakfast potatoes and cilantro. I didn't see or taste any potatoes, but the tacos were still delicious! I'd only recommend draining the salsa through a sieve because of the excess juice affecting the integrity of the tortilla. My husband's frittata was awful. The eggs were dry; he compared them to "eggs at the bottom of the warming tray at a cheap breakfast buffet." The chef also served a side salad alongside. My husband asked about subbing potatoes and Ms. Lashone made it happen. She was the star of our brunch: drinks were delicious, the conversational quips were quick and funny. She was attentive without being intrusive and made sure we felt welcomed and taken care of. 5 stars for her and my food; 1 for the frittata. I don't want to average it and tank the rating. We'll be back soon to see Lashone!

I went with the breakfast crepe, which was good, but honestly couldn't compete with that pita. Renee even makes her own verde hot sauce, which was a really nice touch! For something sweet, we tried the Boston cream crepe and the peach cottage crepe. Both were delicious, but the Boston cream crepe was easily my favorite. She made sure to let me know there were specials written on the wall in chalk. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza crepe, but instead of ham and bacon, how it's originally made, I had just pepperoni. I would have added onion, but I thought a $1 upcharge for onion was far too much, so i didn't add it on principle alone. The crepe came out pretty quickly! It was very good, my only "gripe" is that the cheese and pepperoni didn't get a lil burn to it, like a pizza would have. I love burnt cheese and a lil char on my pepperoni! My sweet crepe, I got apples, sweetened condensed milk, walnuts and whipped cream. This was also very good! Not too sweet, just sweet enough! The apples retain their heat a bit, though, and i burnt me mouth, but that's my own fault. I will definitely be coming back, probably alone again, as it's a rather tiny establishment. This is definitely a hidden gem in fxb!

As you walked, the restaurant is clean, cozy and vibrant. There were 3 items ordered: 1) Avocado Toast 2) Cuban Sandwich 3) Apple French Toast. Let's start with the avocado toast, as it was presented on a platter with two grain toasted topped with smashed avocado and your choice of eggs which in this case was medium over easy and it comes with your selected sides - masala's with balsamic. Everything was delicious but I prefer my eggs to have a slight crust around the whites. The next item was the Cuban sandwich which didn't come in your typical Cuban style pressed sandwich. This was more a settle and healthy approach using 2 slice sourdough, pork, ham, honey mustard and pickles. The flavor was there as a Cuban version but kinda of a unique way of presenting it. For dessert, I wanted to try the apple stuffed French toast but only order half which comes with 2 pieces instead of 4. On the menu, it stated it was stuffed but I only found 2 pieces of apple chunks so I wasn't able to taste the full effect. It was also garnished with fresh blueberries and a bottle of warm syrup. Our server Kaya was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. I wouldn't mind making another visit to try other items on their menu.

The French toast was mediocre. The home fries were also flavorless. The coffee was bitter. We ate at a cheap, popular national breakfast chain yesterday and found that to be more flavorful than this place. I wish this place well, but the next time I'm in VA, I'll be heading back to the cheap national breakfast chain.

It gets the job done for being a hotel and that's about all I can give it. The rooms are nothing fantastic, they feel very early 2000s which isn't bad but isn't great either. I feel the bathroom could use a remodel because the sink drains were clogged, and the bathroom felt very outdated. The room was spacious though with two queen beds, a chair and very cold A/C. It also had a nice tv in the room too. Beds also felt very comfortable which is nice for a hotel. I definitely would consider this hotel again now that my expectations are a little lower on what to expect. The hotel bar was always dead without anyone around, but the lobby in it of itself was very spacious and accommodating. I also really enjoyed how many things that were walkable around downtown Fredericksburg from the hotel. A ton of breweries, the river front, and restaurants were all within a mile to walk which made it a breeze. It's a very small town with not a lot going on during the week but it did the job.

Theres plenty of parking and they have a small area for outside seating. As you walked in, there's plenty of seating, they have an open kitchen concept, a side room for special events or meetings (25 people capacity) but it's their mission that caught my interest as cashier/ hostess Lexi explains to me. This company spreads and provides charity catering throughout the community with multiple outlets. Lexi was very patient as she explains how the menu works. I ordered 3 items: 1) Loaded baked potato 2) Fried fish 3) Chicken and waffles. I just wanted to taste the baked potato without any protein on top. I don't know what it was that had an off taste, maybe the butter. The potato itself was soft topped with cheese, green onions and a little bland. The chicken and waffle were tasty. The fried chicken wasn't as crispy as I would like it but it was well seasoned and the waffle was soft. There are so many options for your sides. So for the fried fish, the appearance looks delicious but it was very thin and dry. Even with the tartar sauce it was still dry. I was really looking forward to it. The sides I selected were fries and hope cakes (which are sweet corn bread). Their beverages are on point, I got their lemonade and sweet tea. Lexi was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant is only opened on Fridays-Sundays for regular business but since they do multiple catering events, they are open 7 days a week. They also offer Sunday brunch between the hours of 9a-3p which the entire dining room is open with mocktail and coffee station. There isn't a buffet during the brunch but a la carte off the menu. I would make a return visit to try their brunch menu in the near future.
