My brother and I finally was able to visit this place. The restaurant was clean, plenty of seatings, was welcome with smiles and it's located in front of Walmart in Southpoint. We each order a platter. My brother order the Double Meat Farmer's Choice and I order Caramel Apple Farmer's Choice. The double meat includes sausage, smoked bacon, two eggs and he added blueberry pancakes. With my platter it includes sausage, any sides I got grits with cheese, eggs with cheese, French toasts with roasted apple, powdered sugar and whipped cream. Everything was delicious with generous portions. Our server was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely make another visit to try other items on their menu. read more

The farmland breakfast platter my father ordered he gets all the time, he really likes it. The staff was fast at taking our order and it came out fast. Well, it is sadly goodbye to Bob Evans on Southpoint Pkwy in Fredericksburg. This was our 'go to' for comfort breakfast food. Based on the past few experiences, it's time to change. Husband and I went there on Sunday AM for breakfast. The food was not good. The hash browns were not cooked properly, the sausage patties were fried until they were hard and nearly black. The sausage gravy was fine as usual so it must be prepared elsewhere. It was overall a big disappointment. And this was not the first time. Last time we went, my hash browns were not cooked properly. The time before that, they were raw. So I sent them back and asked if they could be cooked a little more. The wait person returned with a pancake colored disk (on both sides) that used to be undercooked hash browns. If you are going to serve breakfast, please teach the person cooking it how to make hash browns. I'm not the first to suggest that the person cooking the food be given lessons or a refresher course. Here's the very best part: the cost of our two breakfasts was more than $45. Holy cow! Underwhelming food met with an overwhelming price. It occurred to me that we could have gotten consistent and decent food at First Watch which is just a few blocks away for about the same price (or less). Before I go, the wait staff at this location has always been very good to excellent. Many of them are long-term employees who actually seem to enjoy their job. Unfortunately they cannot save the food. Even so, rest peacefully, Bob Evans. It was fun while it lasted but you became too expensive for mediocre food. read more

Food was cold. Instead of paying attention to the service they decided celebrate a new server with multi colored hair and a ring in their nose as a priority. This isn't downtown Fredericksburg. This place has gone the way of woke and will receive the Cracker Barrel treatment soon. Nothing they can do to prevent it. Too many undesirables being hired by the goofy woke manager. Picked up our Thanksgiving food from here and everyone was SO extremely kind and attentive!!! I was so incredibly impressed and it really made my day. So we ended up with Bob Evans, after trying to get takeout elsewhere. We hadn't ordered Bob Evans in quite some time, because our Bob Evans here is absolutely horrible the majority of the time. And last night proved that it is still horrible. They had a "date night dinner for 2" option, which I ordered with online ordering. It's roughly $22 or so, but I got the pot roast, which was a $5 upgrade, and my husband got the turkey dinner, which was also a $5 upgrade, so it ended up being about $32. With that you get, two soups or salads, two entrées, and a dessert to split. My soup if you want to call it soup, was so dry, that it's just literally a cup of potatoes (I got the potato soup). I'm going to add some chicken broth to it today, and try to bring it back to life. The amount of pot roast they gave me was so small, it was absolutely ridiculous. Taste wise, it was pretty decent. But the serving was not worth the price; especially with the $5 up charge. My husband's portions were normal sized, but drowned in butter and gravy; you couldn't even tell that his mashed potatoes were mashed potatoes. His green beans were advertised with ham in them, not one piece of ham was in those green beans. Then they forgot to bag the dessert! If I feel up to it today, I'll probably run over and pick up our dessert, because we did pay for it. But that'll be the last time I give this Bob Evans, a chance. Thought we were going to get a good breakfast while traveling. Well that did not happen. No fault to the waiter Deb, she was awesome. Whoever is cooking need a refresher course. Being that my husband and I are both cooks the food was just not to standard. My husband got the whole hog with over easy eggs and tomatoes. And I got the berry breakfast with French toast. Where do I start. Well for one tomatoes are not suppose to be frozen. And my husband sausage was raw. His eggs were not over easy, they were fried hard. And non of the food was warm at all. I get that inflation has caused prices to rise but what I got, I consider price gauging. One of the items I ordered was the Sunshine Skillet. It was not close to the size pictured, and came in a very small container. What I received pre inflation should have been no more than 4-5$. Post inflatio, perhaps 6.50$. I paid 10.60$. WTF. Ordered a farmer's choice breakfast with hash browns and sausage links, eggs over easy, and fancy and a double meat farmer's choice with hash browns, sausage links, and bacon, eggs over easy, and french toast. Wife and I stopped in here for breakfast and we were seated within 5 minutes. We seat on our seats for over 20 minutes and no one came over to offer water, take our orders, or even say we will be right with you. Within those 20 minutes a couple was seated behind us and a table of three was seated a few table up and they both had wait staff attend to them before we di. Normally, I enjoy dining at Bob Evans, but I'm done now. After almost completely being finished eating my Wildfire Chicken Salad, I crunch down on something. I pulled it out of my mouth and it was somebody's press on nails. How disgusting is that? Ruined my appetite for the entire night and now I cringe when eating. I get it, --sometimes things happen, but this was an avoidable mistake. Make whomever is making the salads wear gloves! This is so unsanitary when people are handling your food and their nails end up in your food and then in your mouth. FDA will have a field day inspecting there. I placed an order via DoorDash and I'm less than happy with the results. My homestyle chicken strips meal with broccoli and cole slaw was awful. The chicken strips meal was for a kid. The pieces were small and the side of broccoli was 3 florets. Someone at Bob Evans took the spoon and picked up 3 florets and said, "That's an acceptable portion." Meanwhile the coleslaw came in a container that looked like it could hold 2 cups of liquid. My wife got buttermilk pancakes with blueberry sauce and the sauce came in a container the same size as my cole slaw. The blueberry sauce for my wife's pancakes were more than my broccoli. My meal was $14.00 and I know with DoorDash there's a markup but this is the first time I ate and still felt hungry afterwards. This was my first time ever at a Bob Evans. I always pass this place and decided to try it out for breakfast and it was pretty good. There was no wait time and staff was super nice and made sure we had everything we needed. My only small issue was one of my biscuits were so hard I couldn't eat it but the other biscuit was nice and soft so Im not sure what happen to that one biscuit lol. But other than that we enjoyed ourselves and even had some small talk with a couple other customers, I will be returning to try other things on the menu. read more

This is one of my favorite breakfast locations, but only dine-In. Today's experience was one that was terrible. I placed an online order which stated it'll be available by 9:44AM. When we arrived to pick up food at 9:40 we were told our food isn't quite ready yet. However; my wife noticed a large bag sitting near the register. At 10:15 AM We finally were told our order was ready and the cashier drops an order of pancakes in the bag that has been sitting near the register for over 30 minutes. It goes without saying, but our food was colder than a polar bears toenail and we were extremely disappointed with the portion sizes. It's like they skimped on the size of the pancakes (which is my daughter's favorite). A friend and I (we are truckers) stopped here to get a nice home cooked breakfast after a stop, boy did that absolutely not go to plan. The cashier at the take out section must have been having a horrid day because every word was terse and clipped. We ordered the family sized homestyle breakfast to go (it claims to feed four) and it absolutely does not. The two sausages (TWO) , pardon my language, looks like my grandpas dick. He's dead. the home fries were absolutely horrid, tasted lukewarm and like they'd been left in the dumpster out back to marinate. The eggs were decent. Do the math...called the manager again...he said I needed to call doordash to talk to them. Timing just wasn't right today. First time we ate there was last month and we all liked it. Thus chose to go there this morning. The greeter was nice, the hostess who sat us was nice and so was the waitress. We were on our way to be seated in the corner in the back of restaurant in between two parties. I just left there , I took my Sister there for a birthday dinner. Wow. We had the Sirloin steaks with broccoli, carrots, baked potato, and fresh biscuits and iced tea. Bob Evans is soooooo good! Because of them, I'm going to be morbidly obese! I went there and got the Farmer's Choice Breakfast with UNLIMITED chocolate chip pancakes! In addition to the unbelievably good pancakes, the the meal came with a few side items. I chose scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage patties, and "home fries". Home fries are diced potato pieces that have been cooked to perfection: they are fluffy on the inside with just the right amount of toughness on the outside, and they're bursting with delicious potato flavor! The food is fantastic and was worth every penny! I can't say enough good about our waitress, Georgean (she goes by "GiGi"). She was tons of fun and was EXTREMELY attentive!
