Good food and service! The food was ready right at the pick up time and the staff was accommodating to all my requests

First time visiting a HCK Hot Chicken joint. I arrived around 6:00 pm on a Friday evening. No line - I ordered their fried chicken sammich with an order of fries, and a bottle of water. For heat level on the sandwich - I went with the Habanero level. They make the food to order - so they handed me a number to place on my table (I was eating in). Paid with Apple Pay. Food was delivered to my table about 10 minute later. The sandwich was hot and fresh temperature-wise. The fries were crispy - but not as hot as they should have been. It's like the two items were prepared at different times. Good sandwich - although I was a little surprised that the Habanero sauce that they sauced the chicken in the sandwich - was somewhat sweet. Second time trying this chain and first time in here. The thing I like about this place is they make the food AFTER you order so it's always fresh and just the way you want it. You can choose a sandwich, salad, tenders, boneless wings, or bone in. Several varieties of sauces or naked options available. Their "good" sauce is a must try. If you like hot you might try the medic sauce with Carolina reaper. I tried just a taste on my first visit and that was good for me. I like the after burner with habanero peppers. We ordered lunch here on a Friday at work. I had heard it was good for, so i was excited about it! The food was pretty good, I'll say, but maybe it's something you need to eat there? My fries were great, i had boneless wings and they were good as well... but i guess it's a little bit confusing, ordering online. I want sure about the sauces, some sauce came with an entree, but some were $.75-$1. We were quoted 20 minutes for the food, but when arriving at that time, had to wait an additional 20 minutes until the order was ready. Not only that, but when we got it the afterburners and honey mustard sauces we paid for were not in the bag. I'm updating my review for this business. I ordered chicken meal ( deal was buy one get one free sandwiches) and chicken and waffle via uber eats. It is quite a disappointment this time because chicken flavors in both of the meals were exactly same. Chicken was quite hard and chewy. Above all chicken in both the burgers and tender were very sweet. I wouldn't want my food that I was expecting to be hot and spicy tasted so sweet. I called the business and talked to the lady on the phone to check if they have any item on the menu that is not sweet, the lady was quite rude and responded to me that Country Style chicken is sweet, she repeated it twice and to which I said okay. I personally don't agree with this statement because I have been making country style chicken at home and eating outside none of them were sweet. Stopped in for lunch on their second day in operation at this location... The crew was amazing, friendly, helpful and energetic! The menu is the same as their original location in Dale City. Execution of the menu was spot-on! We tried their base level chicken sandwich combo as well as a #2 level chicken sandwich combo and their chicken & waffles done in base and another done in level 2. All of us were super-happy with our food, as it came out piping hot and tasty! Their chicken and waffles are absolutely incredible - a MUST TRY!! Their fries are crispy, hot and seasoned perfectly! Mac & Cheese was creamy and tasty. Their chicken comes in 5 levels: Plain Base - Cayenne After Burner - Habanero Angry Hot - Scorpian Medic - Carolina Reaper These sauces are no joke and are slightly different from traditional Nashville Hot Chicken sauce in that these are an actual sauce, not just a seasoned oil. My level 2 (After Burner) was plenty spicy with a hint of sweetness for me... But I was feeling a little adventurous and tried a side of Angry Hot to dip into and I'm sweating right now as I type this thinking of how spicy that sauce was, but still packed with flavor! Today was a bad day to go to HCK. The fried chicken and fries were cooked in old oil and tasted like a whole canister of salt was poured on the food. The coating on the chicken was extremely dark and just flaked off the skin. We are never going back because the quality of the chicken was horrible. I stop here often on my way from work. All of my experiences have been positive, with the exception of the last time. The last time i stopped in a young female employee was just starting her shift as I walked in right behind her. She took my order and was very nice but when I received my order it was slightly off. I ordered a Chicken sandwich with the base sauce with the coleslaw and other sauce they put on the sandwich on the side. I left without checking my order as this location has always been on point without error. I finally had a chance to open my order later and discovered there was no bas sauce on the sandwich, and no sandwich sauce on the side. The base sauce was in the bag on the side and nothing else. This was the first time my order had been messed up from this location. Every place has a bad day so I will plan to go back one day soon. I would recommend the dining room area and tables be thoroughly cleaned or on a schedule to be cleaned. Usually when I arrive in the afternoons between 3-5 the dining room could use some attention. I have tried other HCK locations and so far, this place is 100 times better than HJs. read more

Hot chikn kitchn has good food. I got the classic chicken sandwich which comes with coleslaw on the sandwich. I didn't get any spicy sauce because I have zero spicy tolerance but I wish I asked for some extra sauce on the side because what was on the burger was not enough flavor alone. My friend has been a couple times and gotten the spicy sandwiches and really enjoyed them. The one gripe I have with this place is the consistent long wait for the food. The fries were cold and the chicken breading was hard and the chicken was dried out. For a $16 meal I was really disappointed. I would have been disappointed if it was a $6 meal. One of the lowest review I've posted to date-the price of the food is outrageous for what you get. It's astonishing how little food is served for the price you pay. The style of chicken does not lend itself to being finger food, so they serve the chicken with some pretty flimsy plastic ware that breaks if you press too hard. Food so good they don't need the E. I love when spicy food is legit spicy, not an idea of spicy. If you like spicy, start at level 2. Splash in level 3 bc too much of that is just hot. So my rating is pretty much strictly for the food. The service was nice. The place was clean and had a nice modern design. Their menu is simple which I like. They stick with what the place is. Chicken. So I got the nuggets plain, with the base sauce on the side. I got the fries, 2 chicken strips, a side of their other hot sauce (the last 2 hottest), and Mac and cheese. I was kind of disappointed the don't offer bone in wings but this isn't a traditional hot chicken chain so I didn't let it bother me too much. The nuggets were good as were the fries. But I actually liked the nuggets better without the sauce. The house dipping sauce (sorry I don't remember any of the sauce names) wasn't bad. The base sauce was way too sweet and there's no heat. The 3rd level had too much heat bc you barely had a moment to enjoy the flavor before your mouth was burning. I didn't bother with the last sauce bc I wanted to actually not have my tongue out of commission. The 2nd level sauce I got on the tenders. I didn't care for the flavor too much. But I had the leftovers on a bun and it worked better as a sandwich. And finally the Mac and cheese was just ok. It wasn't bad just way too saucy. It's good they only give you a small portion bc it's way too rich for a larger helping. Unfortunately the food isn't good enough for us to go back. I don't eat meat anymore but when I did, HCK Hot Chicken was the go-to. Nearly daily (sometimes a 2 a day) chicken boxes with an extra tender, with waffles (fries every now and again), after burner for the sauce, and a sweet tea for the bev was the diet. They always blessed with the portions, provided hot/well prepared food (great for the bulk up on protein if chosen to have it without sauce), crinkle cut fries with the seasoning are top in the county, fried donuts drops are my favorite (they taste like good funnel cake) and the pickles were a touch of creativity to the meal serving as a great trademark. The restaurant is consistently clean, the interior design/lighting is a vibe, bathrooms are always clean, and the young lady who manages the night shift is a wonderful leader who runs the shift in very effective/efficient manner, utilizing her team in a way that brings out their best qualities. Amazing chicken, the chicken and waffles with the base sauce and good sauce omg FIRE! Raising Canes doesn't even compare! Hck's chicken is not dry, too moist or anything, it's simply perfect! Their waffles are made fresh in house too! Such kind people aswell, very great and clean inside aswell! Love the chicken posters and pictures on the wall . I wish there was one closer to my house! The sauce they give for the food as well is makes the meals taste even better has its sweet and savory I can't remember the name but whatever it is always hits. The only issue I ever really have which isn't that big of a issue is from time to time they add cucumber or pickle whenever I put non which isn't that big of a deal but still just a inconvenience but the food is fire with the sauce they give and the loaded fries with chicken is another bomb item.
