I have been to four different Hangry Joe's locations, but this one is the worst I've ever visited. My wife ordered our "go-to" Sando combo, medium heat. When she opened her sandwich, the bun was covered in mold. I understand that occasional mold spots might sometimes be overlooked in a busy kitchen, but there's no way someone making sandwiches could miss this. Needless to say, we requested a refund, which was issued by an "acting" manager since the manager on duty had already left for the day. First time trying out this spot. Their sign says always fresh never frozen and the food did not disappoint. We had the #1 and #2 combo. Sandwich and tenders respectively, with fries and a drink. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. Fries were crispy wafflw fries and still hot when they came out. They use a dry rub and the heat is no joke. We tried medium and hot. Not sure I could handle more than hot! The sandwich had coleslaw and pickles on it. That was perfect with the heat of the dry rub! The sauce for dipping was quite tasty as well. Not a huge place but plenty of seating if you decide to eat in. Def worth trying out! They just started serving breakfast too. We'll have to check that out soon! read more

The places are rapidly popping up all over the place and I tried one a couple of years ago and when I recently noticed this location open, I wanted to try this location too. I went on a weekday and it was empty inside, so I was quickly greeted and ordered my food. I tried their wings and their sando combo. The wings done in their smokey BBQ sauce and the heat level on the sandwich was medium. Their medium is probably more of a medium/hot, definitely has a nice kick to it! I'll try their hot next time. The smokey BBQ sauce was really tasty and the wings weren't messy, but perfectly seasoned, crispy (not over-fried) and very meaty and tasty! Definitely some of the best wings I've had in the area! The sandwich was a mess! The heel on the brioche bun was soaked when I immediately got the sandwich and I couldn't pick up the sandwich to hold it, as my fingers pressed straight thru the soggy heel - yuck! I took a few bits, but ultimately had to fork & knife it to finish eating it. Flavors were really good, with the slaw and their sauce on top. Waffle fries were tasty, but not piping hot (barely warm, in fact) at all. Overall, nice visit, definitely better than the last one I visited. read more

Not a bad area for a new business. Busy area, very well populated. Inside looks nice and clean. Radio too loud, can't hear them call your number. Doesn't look they have too much help with the orders. Gentlemen at the counter made my shake while I waited for my food. Espresso shake was very good. Had to wait and get the food , but made it home and it was still hot. We got the loaded Mac and cheese and it was pretty good. 12 wings mild and Korean chicken nuggets with garlic sauce. Food was very heavily breaded and very heavy on my stomach. I went for mild on the spice scale and that was a wise choice b/c it was pretty spicy. Anywhere else would call it medium spicy. Overall, major props to the sandwich. My problem was, I ordered two sandwiches and an order of fried okra. One sandwich was mild and the other no spicy. This was a pick up order. When I got home i looked all over the sandwich and the bag for a clue as to which sandwich was which. They did not mark them at all. The reason it's a four star instead of a five is because when you walk in the floor is super sticky. Gotta mop that up people. Ice doesn't work at the fountain drink machine. Gotta fix that people. I am a die hard fan of the Hangry Joes in Gainesville VA and brag about it to all my friends. Recently some family came in from out of town who were staying near Stafford so I ordered $150 worth of sandwiches and wings from the Stafford location to impress them thinking it will be to the same quality and standards since they are a franchise. Was I wrong. The chicken breasts in the sandwich were so overcooked and the chicken was dry. Simply horrible and unacceptable. The wings were no better, all of them were overcooked and partially burnt. At the end of the day, over half of the sandwiches and wings that I bought were left uneaten as they were that bad. The best Chicken wings in Stafford or the East Coast!!! I have been in the restaurant business over 40 years from a waiter in a James Beard Award winning restaurant in Washington DC to King Dominion food stand management in the 70's. The chicken fingers are the largest I have ever gotten any where. The mild wings have so much flavor I have eaten there as often as 4 day in a week. The service from the girls working the counter are always friendly and accurate they keep it clean. I like the free refill soft drinks. I like that they are playing a local radio station. I have not tried everything on the menu yet but I plan to try different items so for with my many visits I have been very happy with everything. read more
