I'm no writer and don't care to be, so my review will be short and simple. This place is far better than any Subway, and on par with Quizno's in both quality and pricing. Personally, I like the theme and am glad my son got a hat with his meal. I no longer use fountain soda machines, but if they were all like these fancy coke machines, that might not be the case. I have been here twice now and have left completely underwhelmed each time. First of all, customer service is nonexistent. No one smiles or even pretends to want to be there. Secondly, the food is just okay. It's not bad, but it's not noteworthy either. I've gotten the Italian (good meat, but Italian dressing is sweet) and the Steak & Cheese (decent) I would compare it to Quizno's without the yummy condiment bar. I ordered two subs to go one evening after work (about 6 p.m.). The place was empty except for one guy. I ordered the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket and the New York Steamer. I really wasn't impressed. Maybe a bit disappointed. I felt, for what I ordered, that this place charged a bit too much ($18 for two foot-long subs). Quiznos has MUCH better subs than Firehouse for less, but what really sets Quiznos apart from Firehouse Subs is that when they toasted the sub, it's actually FLAVORFUL. We ordered from the Firehouse Subs location in Stafford Virginia for our informal holiday lunch. We had compared various casual sandwiches options and found Firehouse Subs to be a great value for the portions for our work group. Not only were the subs fantastic, but the customer service we received at the Stafford location was phenomenal. From placing the order over the phone, to coming in the store for pickup, the staff was courteous and professional. They had our good size order ready to, set us up with plenty of extras and even helped us carry it all out to the car. I like to purchase a large sandwich and it ends up being more than I can eat, and I can eat quite a bit. An entire large sandwich with the fixings will hit you for about 1100 to 1700 calories depending on which one. A medium will be from about 700 to 900 calories. There are healthier choices on the menu though. You order and pay at the counter. They call out your name or bring your food out to you depending on how busy they are. You fill your own drink and refills are free. Whenever I've been, there are several others in the place, but I gave never felt it was over crowded. On Thursday night I stopped by on our way home from a school event. I picked up a menu from the register. I went to order and started to notice that the prices on the register did not match the prices on the menu. When I questioned the cashier he told me that the prices had went up, but they didn't have new menus yet. I told him then they shouldn't have the flyers out. The prices were $. 74 - $ 1.24 more for the item's I ordered then listed on the brochure. The only reason I didn't walk out was because my son asked to eat there. This place is great for subs. I've almost always had a pleasant experience here. The food has always been fantastic! I've had occasionally experienced a rude employee who has argued with me over my discount card that I purchased from a local soccer team, however, a manager always steps in and corrects the mistake so I'm happy there.
