I must say that I'm concerned about this BE location. At 10:00 am, the bathrooms weren't cleaned, tables in the dining room weren't cleaned and the carpet underneath the tables filthy. I noticed that the entire space had caution signs up due to the HVAC system. If BE is not making any upgrades, it would better to close the doors than to make your customers feel they aren't worth the effort to bring the restaurant up. This is unacceptable!

Stop by after a long time. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Service was below average for this kind of restaurant.

So this was the Bob Evans near my moms house. Normally I can't stand this Bb Evans, but this particular day we had the best customer service you could EVER receive. Our servers name was Naketa Robinson. The food was phenomenal as always (probably because her sister was on the grill), but Naketa's attentive and personality made a usually annoying situation pleasant. She paid attention to our orders & took her time with us. My mom and I didn't feel rushed & we weren't forced to order something we didn't want. We have never had a problem with the food at any Bob Evans, but for once the customer service matched it! Bob Evans on Route 40 has a new set of Loyals!

This is one of the better Bob Evans. Restaurant is clean and the staff are all very nice. For what they do, the restaurant is good. They have some great family-size meal options during COVID-19. I wish they would bring back their spaghetti- it was so good. I would recommend the chain to offer more comfort-food options. Upon checkout, I ordered a banana-nut loaf and a family-size chicken soup for tomorrow. It was about $8 extra.

This is proof that I placed the right order.

I ordered two PremiumFarmhouse Feast- Serves up to 10 for my job party. When the food arrived, the order wasn't right. So when I called the store, they told me that I ordered the 8 serves, not the 10. I told them that I ordered the 10, and I was missing 2 hams and Mac & cheese. They then proceeded to tell me to read the box and tell them what's written on the box. They box stated T-8 what was clearly wrong. So they kept telling me I ordered the 8 servings. So I told the manager I knew what I ordered and also how much I paid. So we went back in, forth then I remembered I took a screenshot of the receipt. So when I told him he asked me to text it to him. Once he got the text, he called me and said he was on his way to deliver it himself. Once he got there, he was still telling me I ordered something else and just got free food. I told him that he hadn't given me anything free. At this point, I knew I wasn't going to order from them again. As for the party, everything turned out well. I put a picture of my order so everyone can see.

I decided to dine at this Bob Evans location for breakfast for their Veterans Day meal deal. Once I entered this Bob Evans, I placed my name on the wait list and was advised there was a thirty minute wait due to the number Veterans that were dining. COVID-19 regulated guidelines were acknowledged, as well as social distancing. One hour later, I was seated at a booth. Once I was seated, I was advised there would be another thirty minute wait after I ordered my meal. I will have to acknowledge the hard work and excellent customer service that my waitress: Kychante "Kee Kee" Parker did during my dining experience. Complimentary Bob Evans signature sausage gravy and freshly-baked biscuits was provided to reduce the wait time on my meal. Shortly afterwards, my meal was brought to my table. I enjoyed my Veterans Day breakfast at this Bob Evans location.

I used to frequent Bob Evans as a child and I always loved it, but for some reason I stopped going as I got older. This was my first visit in years but everything was just as good as I remember. The pancakes were soft and fluffy. The bacon and sausages were crispy, just how I like them. The only thing I didn't like was that my eggs were pretty cold by the time they came out but everything else was delicious and the service was great! I'll definitely be back again soon.

I used to see people wearing Bob Evans hats in college but I had no idea where it came from. Now I know! Bob Evans is a casual dining, family restaurant. Reminded me a little of IHOP. We went on a Sat afternoon and it was very busy. It was only two of us and the wait was about 10 minutes. I started off with a strawberry lemonade and it was so good. I thought I wanted something small like soup but I saw the chicken and waffles and just went for it. I'd rather chicken on the bone for chicken and waffles but these came with strips. The meal was tasty but I've definitely had better chicken and waffles. Probably should have gotten the soup or breakfast. Since it reminded me of IHOP, I should have known not to order dinner items. The staff were very friendly from beginning to end.

Maybe its me, but the quality of here is really bad, service is mediocre sub par. 1st. The seats and tables we sat in are kinda dirty, not wiped thoroughly 2nd. Asked for water and was served water in dirty mason glasses that had cream? Syrup? Still at the bottum of the glasses. 3rd. Ordered 2 meals. The whole breakfast and a basic farm breakfast thing. The eggs were requested sunny side up and over easy. Eggs were served way undercooked, not even any crispy ness, its almost. 4. Sausage patty was raw and undercooked, sausage links are still gray, with no grill or skillet or any sign of ever touching a griddle or pan. Kitchen and food quality definitely needs work. Never coming again

When I looked up it's menu I saw that it had a New Mexico theme - score! So I was very excited, and hopeful that the food would bring back memories of trips to Albuquerque. It did! I'm a huge fan of Hatch chiles. I roast and freeze a case or two from Wegmans every year (August 21 in Frederick, baby!). So when I saw Hatch chiles used extensively across the menu I was VERY excited. Ended up ordering stacked enchiladas (corn tortillas layered with refried beans, shredduce, tomatoes, topped with a fried egg). I asked for "Christmas style" - a 50/50 mix of red and green chiles. It was excellent, every bit as good as any I ate in Albuquerque, with enough heat to make it, well, perfect. The rest of the fam enjoyed a mix of sandwiches, burgers, and salads. Clean plate club members all! Prices were good, and service was attentive and fast. And it's a hell of a lot easier to drive to Catonsville than it is to fly to New Mexico to get my chile fix!

Maddy, an employee there said the food here is great and she and I had time to kill before we went to a comedy show that evening. Parking first, was pretty easy. I think we lucked up for a Friday night, getting parking in front of the establishment, but it was perfect! When you arrive, I was honestly taken back by how small this place was. Small not in a bad way - they indeed, make good use of their space here - it's just not as deep back as I thought.& because of the size, the hostess at the front asked if we have reservations. We told him no but also, there were seats made available right at that time, so all worked out to sit and be served. We sat at the bar, used the handy purse hooks provided, and took a look at the menu. First of all, this place needs to be kept on the low - because they are truly just that good. Lamb chops (3 of them, cooked to your liking) AND french fries, $35? Are we serious? And the drinks? My goodness. I was empressed to see my total of that meal and 2 additional drinks, to bring me to $78. Loveddd this place. Loved our bartender. Loved the small, but family feel of this location. The next time I come to this area for another shopping or fun day, it'll be right on queue to go here!

When we arrived, there were 3 men sitting outside smoking cigars. It was a lot. The table we were seated at was near the front window and a couple of us could still really smell the cigars. I knew it would affect the enjoyment of our meal, so I asked to move. Since we were the only ones in the restaurant, it wasn't a big deal. The staff was not rude, but they weren't friendly. It was more like indifference, from the hostess to the bartender to our waiter. The food was mostly good. There were five of us so we had a lot and a variety of dishes. We enjoyed the lamb chops and the charcuterie board, among others. My steak was delicious--perfectly seared and seasoned to perfection. The crème brûlée was delicious, but my son was served a cheesecake slice with mold on it. We were pretty disappointed overall for a meal that cost over $500 for 5 and was on a special day. We won't be going back and we won't be recommending them.

This is a familiar place that updates the look and menu now and then, yet still feels like home. We often get a beet salad when it's available. Matthew's is scrumptious, with tender sweet juicy roasted beets, tasty grilled chicken, red onion slices and fresh spinach, tangy crumbled bleu cheese, and delightful candied walnuts, complimented by tart raspberry vinaigrette. By the way, it's gluten-free. We loved the rich cream of crab soup du jour, full of crab lumps and full of flavor, with a little spice from good old Old Bay. Delicious and dreamy. Their quesadillas were served a la carte as an appetizer, loaded with savory roasted chicken, heavy with a mild cheese and a lightly spicy flavorful thick red sauce, rolled in tender lightly seared flour tortillas. Generous and satisfying. Matthew's building dates from around 1862 as a station and hotel at the end of a horse-car line, before electricity! It's been through around 5 names over the years, and has been the Parsons family's Matthew's 1600 since 2004. We've felt comfortable and welcomed here for decades. It has plenty of free parking in their own lot. By the way, many of their already reasonable prices are discounted a little if you pay cash. That's a endearing way of keeping it real in Catonsville, only charging when it costs them.

And a simple unsweetened double-shot espresso, direct, intense, balanced, and nicely brewed. The mentioned that all their espresso beverages are double-shots, unless you ask for a different amount. We got an almost-royal version of almond croissant, their Frangipane: a flaky and flavorful croissant iced and filled with a velvety almond cream of butter, sugar, vanilla, and eggs. The icing puffs up almost cake-like. It's a beloved French pastry recipe. We also had a new version of one our favorites, their breakfast croussant sandwich. We got the smaller "Bunnsant", which comes stuffed with perfectly fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy medium-thin bacon, fresh tomato slices, and a think layer of ripe avocado. Richly delicious, and enough to fill you up, but not so much that you have to take half of it home :-) Past other tables, we discovered a couple of cozy stuffed chairs by a fireplace towards the back of the cafe, with walls full of books. And further down the hall, bright delightful artwork lines the walls. This place was bustling on and off on a Saturday mid-morning, with many people gettting take-out. The coffee flight came out and it's on a large paddle and it looked really delicious. I have to say the regular flavored lattes and the croissant weren't my favorite choices, but as I started moving down the paddleboard towards flavored lattes and the Blondi bar, it was pretty good. My favorite latte was the butter beer and my favorite pastry actually turned out to be the Blondie brownie bar. The inside has enough seating for about 50 people and it's really cutely decorated. I highly recommend stopping in if you're in the mood for a coffee after a day of shopping in Ellicott city.
