My husband and I were just looking for a quick breakfast that was, at the very least, dependable. We walked in the door and the smell of old grease and dirty dishwater absolutely overwhelmed us. The ladies in front of us apparently had been waiting quite some time and hadn't seen a staff member. Then all of a sudden, out of the back, a young woman ran out into the restaurant, sweating, and obviously out of breath - profusely, apologizing for making everyone wait. She said they were very short staffed and she was trying to do a lot of different jobs. We couldn't get out of there fast enough! Went to Bob Evens for breakfast yesterday morning. I ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of hash browns. The hash browns I received were no bigger than half a biscuit. The only thing that was even close to warm was the coffee. The wife ordered crisp bacon, and it came out half done. Stoped here on the way home. We had a party of 7 (on a Saturday morning) and the waitress acted like it was such a hassle. When we got the food, everything was either lukewarm or just cold. When we got our receipts, there were random up-charges...pointed this out to the waitress and she said the tickets were "mixed up". If that's the case, they need to be more organized. We were at this location on 6/13/25 at 9:45 am. When we walked in 4 girls standing around not a single hello or acknowledgment. We were told to wait because no tables were clean. Finally sat- our server Lily was nice and tried her best with what was happening. The kitchen had come undone, not sure if cook quit but food came out slow and not great. The hostess/ trainer complained the whole time about the people coming in. It was Friday and rainy out so people go out to breakfast. No tables bussed, no apologies to anyone. The restaurant was full. I believe the manager was cooking all the food - never saw her. People who ordered food before us got their food after us. As we left to pay the bill - the girl training would not turn her back around, greet the new customers coming in or answer the phone that was ringing just stood there stapling bags of food to go. Food was good. But the service was terrible. Too long of wait Good our an hour to get are food. Now very busy at the time and there were no very many busy at the time.This was the second time we have been there a it was almost the same wait last time. took a good 25 minutes to be asked for our drinks, then afterwards look another 10 mins to get the drinks on our table, another 5 mins to get our order taken. and another 35 for our food to show up. after all the waiting half the food we ordered wasnt even on our table and I had to ask for new hash browns because the ones I got were burnt to the point nothing was there. this wasn't the first time something like this has happened. read more

Great place to stop at when on road trips. We stopped in for breakfast the day we left Cadillac, Mi. The food was tasty. Prices were reasonable. The waitress was courteous and friendly. Facilities were clean. This seems the norm at this chain which always makes it a great go to. read more

Tomatoes tasted funny and the waitress basically ignored us the whole time until she came and asked us what we ordered for a second time because she didn't put in the order the first time. Went into Bob Evan's at 1:15 on Jan 2nd, for lunch and had the worst food. I had double blueberry pancakes, they were burnt. How do you serve burnt pancakes? My wife's fries were inedible, and granddaughter's burger was so over cooked she couldn't chew it. The waitress was stressed from all the bad food the kitchen sent out. My kids came into this location today in order to enjoy a lunch date. My heart is full knowing my kids WANT to spend this time together. So anyway, my oldest daughter took her brother on this lunch date. While there, they decided they wanted just two pancakes each and ordered a stack of pancakes. As Seventh-day Adventist Christians it is important for us to not consume unclean meat. Most people don't understand this and that's okay, but we have often been met with disdain at the request that a Subway sandwich artist change their gloves, or that a Hibachi grill place guards between our courses with others. People who do not ascribe to this belief have a hard time understanding it. What is worse, is that they have a hard time not showing their frustration with their lack of understanding. See, we are not "Kosher" and we still enjoy going out from time to time. Is that so bad? We appreciate that Bob Evan's offers a variety of foods including vegetarian options. Today my oldest daughter is finding herself in this world and does not ascribe to all of our beliefs. So, she took the bacon and made it clear to the waitress that her bacon could not even touch my son's who is going on 13, chooses to be a strict vegetarian, and also chooses to ascribe to our beliefs. My daughter told the waitress, it was due to my son's religious beliefs. The waitress relayed this information to the cook, who proceeded to CLEAN THE GRILL!! We do not ask for this but the level of customer service here goes above and beyond the call of service! I cannot begin to explain the level of gratitude I have right now for this EXEMPLARY staff!! My kids came home and told me and I was moved nearly to the point of tears. This goes so far above and beyond my expectations, that I called this experience in to the Bob Evans Headquarters! Like many, we don't get the opportunity to head out as often as we'd like, but the two most recent, albeit time-distanced, visits to this Bob Evans were particularly notable for the phenomenal service provided by Abigail, if my receipt and memory are accurate. Even tried the Dang Hot sauce on the chicken, which wasn't *dang* hot, but nicely warm, and a good touch. The servings were copious, we snacked the rest of the day on the Doggy Box (which never experienced a canine tooth), and the fries were nummy and solid. But it's the service we most remembered, and if you are fortunate to find Abigail within your sphere while there, be as generous with your considerations as she is with her service and smiles. read more

The 1 star is only because we were seated right away and had our drinks brought to us quickly. It went downhill from there. We ordered and it took a LONG time to get our food. Wayyy longer than it should have (and I'm a patient person, I too work in the food service industry.) I've ordered a new thing every time I've been here and I've never liked the food. My parents have gotten a couple good meals but for the most part, they've been stuck with bad dishes as well. The service also bad. Very slow and not friendly at all. I was just there last week and a overheard a couple of servers talk about how one of their customers smelt and they felt bad for the people around them. Messed up our food and service was terrible to the point where my mother in law started bringing plates back to the kitchen cuz we were done and ready for desserts but the tables were messy and no room for anything and the waitress never showed back up. Just finished one of the poorest breakfast I've had in a long time. Didn't expect much but got even less. Extremely slow service and poor food. My wife's pancakes were raw my eggs barely cooked. Being a huge breakfast food fan, I had the Farmer's Market omelet and enjoyed it. We went to Bob Evans because our favorite breakfast place (Sharon's in Roger's Heights) was packed full. We figured can't go wrong with Bob Evans. Boy were we wrong! Our waitress was a bumbling young woman who seemed out of place as a server. My husband ordered the Homestead Breakfast which comes with biscuits and gravy. Our server brought out the biscuits and gravy shortly after we ordered like it was an appetizer or something, rather than part of his breakfast. If this is common practice (as she stated it was) he should have been asked if he wanted to get his breakfast in stages. The food was luke warm at best and tasted like it came off of a breakfast buffet rather than cooked to order. Bacon was very chewy and hash browns were over cooked. We will opt for McDonald's if our fav spot is full ever again. read more

Just had a meal there today. When the waitress brought my meal, I NICELY informed her that it was not what I had ordered. She proceeded to argue with me instead of offering to fix it. I held my ground, the 3 other people I was dining with heard what I had ordered and backed me up. Well....someone else brought the correct order to me...and it was cold. I chose to not make a fuss, BUT we were rudely ignored for the rest of the meal. Never asked how things were, no offer of refills for water or coffee. We took our grandchildren there last night for dinner. Terrible service, and half our food was cold. We waited with four children over an hour for our food. When we stopped the waiter he said the other side of the restaurant was very busy. Seriously? Our dinners were terrible and then the manager comes over after three of us wait for hot food and asks if she can do anything. This was a terrible experience. The manager took 20 percent off the bill. Totally not enough We were going to let the grandkids get dessert but we waited way too long. I am a person who tips at least 20 percent. I left ZERO When we were leaving the people cashing out customers had no idea how to run cash registers and when I told the person we were not happy he did not respond. As far as I am concerned we should get a refund for at least half of our dinners. It was awful and ruined the end of a nice getaway we took with the kids. read more
