I was super excited to try this restaurant, I order the Edamame as an appetizer and when I was eating them I found a HUDE worm/bug inside the pod. As I spit it out I was in disbelief. The waiter did not notify a manager , I had to ask to speak to him myself. He made me pay for everything but the edamame... What a nice surprise! Last minute decision while working our way around Stuart this afternoon. Wanted to be on the water and conceded that this place would likely present the usual touristy menu and service. Not at all! Outside seating is nice and Erika our server was wonderful. Friendly, helpful with a diverse menu and professional. Local. We started with the grilled octopus app with chorizo and white beans. Perfecto! I had the crab and asparagus bisque (Erika's recommendation) and the goat cheese/prosciutto flatbread. Both were delicious and the flat bread more than I could eat. My friend had the skirt steak - rare. Perfectly prepared. Don't just this place from the outside. The food, service and outdoor atmosphere is a pleasantly welcome surpruse. read more

What a charming place with outdoor seating overlooking the water. We drove up from Jupiter and had a late lunch on a Saturday in February. Absolutely loved it. We came here for lunch this past Thursday to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday and it was a fantastic experience. Our visit started off with the pleasant surprise of 3 hours of free parking in the lot adjacent to the restaurant. So far, so good! We next encountered the VERY great news that Thursday is their "all day" happy hour with half price drinks in addition to their $5 drink of the day. My in-laws each had the drink of the day (a rum punch), while Larry S. went with a martini and I had a beer. We opted for several starters instead of a full meal. We went with the mussels, the crab fondue, the tuna stack and the grilled octopus. All of the food was excellent! I think the fondue was the crowd favorite, but the mussels were a close second. All of the seafood was fresh and well-prepared. We ordered the key lime pie and a cheesecake for dessert. I hunted down our server, Nathan, and asked if he could put a candle in the key lime pie for the birthday girl and not only did he do that, but the plate came garnished with a "Happy Birthday" in chocolate. The views, the food and the service here are all top notch! All in all, an excellent experience; thanks Stuart Boathouse and Nathan for helping make our birthday celebration a success! read more

my wife and I went into the boathouse to have a drink before a show at the Lyric. all we asked the front staff if we could have a drink out side on the deck. it was 4;30 in the afternoon and the restaurant was empty. the two young women proceeded to tell us the have reservations and could not sit there. mind you it was an empty deck and would have left by 5:00. We live near Downtown, and we walk over to Boathouse once a month. It was sad when COVID closed everything down, and we are glad they are open, and it feels safe to eat there. The view is amazing. It is on the water. They have inside and outside dining also. The wait staff experience is upscale, and the food is reasonable, not inexpensive, but reasonable is worth it for the quality. They also make a great dark and stormy. Anything on the seafood menu, you cannot go wrong--also a good place for the kids. read more

There was three of us for dinner, one ordered sirloin medium , one ordered sirloin medium rare, one ordered stuffed shrimp. The steaks came out well done for the medium rare and bloody rare for the medium and the bacon around the stuffed shrimp was not cooked through. This might not seem like a casthrophie but when you are charging over $40 per plate it should come out at least close. It was over 15 minutes before anyone asked how the food was and all 3 of us just pointed to the barely touched plates to no avail. Don't order the $20 Daiquiris either they are horrible. I only happened to hit the Stuart Boathouse because my favorite of this location in Stuart, Riverwalk Café & Oyster Bar, is closed on Sundays. Though I believe the food offerings at Riverwalk Café & Oyster Bar are clearly the superior, the Stuart Boathouse has a lot of otherwise redeeming values about it. First off, being located right at the very end of the street on the banks of the Intracoastal it has the best of waterfront views. It's also located right next to the Stuart Riverwalk's band and entertainment stage section. The casual ambiance is great as is its nautical Key Westy like interior décor and the service I had, thank you Olivia, was outstandingly some of the best ever. For my meal I went for their blackboard Sunday brunch special being a shrimp salad wrap along with their "Bottomless Mimosas." My shrimp salad wrap proved to be exceptionally good, perfectly seasoned with salad portions fresh and crisp to the bite, but more so because of the shrimp ingredient. The shrimp weren't the ordinary kind common to most such wraps, but were of jumbo size, not chopped up, but left whole, intact and possessed of a super fresh flavor. My mimosas, which I requested to be heavy on the champagne and light on the orange juice, came precisely that way. With the good food, pleasant ambiance, pleasing décor, good waterfront views and exceptional service, I'm a Four Star fan. read more

Came here on Labor Day around 6PM and they were out of a lot of things including Modelo beer and Oysters. We still loved the waterfront dining and decided to stay though we had mainly come for oysters. They brought our drinks and the cups and utensils were dirty and I mean, SUPER dirty. There was bread like pieces floating in our clear water and full pieces of green and orange stuff on our fork. We asked for a change and they brought us back new drinks but nothing was offered after we drank out of it. We only ordered appetizers such as the mussels, tuna tower and various soups. The soups were amazing and the clam chowder was the best I've ever had. We tried the onion soup and the soup of the day which was cream of asparagus and unexpectedly blew us away. The tuna tower was kind of horrible didn't have much flavor besides the generic sweet chili sauce and there was a huge chunk of cream cheese under. The tuna was in weird chunks like cutting tuna with a bad knife. Overall I would come back for the soups but the service wasn't the best and the dirty plates were just so obviously it was kind of gross. read more

We ordered drinks and appetizers when our server first waited on us. 15 minutes later we ordered entrees and still no chips and guacamole or the calimari. 20 minutes later we received 1 entree and the kids food but still no appetizers. 20 minutes later appetizers show up. I found the manager and he said he would look into and come to our table. 10-15 minutes later the entrees show up but still no manager. After waiting 10 more minutes to ask for our check i go to hostess stand and ask for our check. I see the manager, Enrique and ask why he didn't come to our table as he promised. His reply, well i was going to ?! He was argumentative and didn't take any responsibility. I gave the server my credit card and then the manager finally changed his tune and offered a gift card. I paid my $240 bill and additional $50 tip and left. If the manager had just acted like he cared i would have been happy. We have eaten at the Stuart Boathouse dozens of times but no more. This is a review about service. As a gluten-free diner who worries about cross-contamination there weren't a lot of choices. Salad is really the only choice unless you eat gluten-free for weight loss and not because of an allergy. What shined for me was our waiter Brett. He REALLY knows the menu and is very well versed on restrictive diets. He helped me determine what was safe....and what wasn't. Extremely professional and an incredibly nice guy who obviously cares about his customers. The setting was perfect, right on the river with a great view of the bridge. Service was great, staff very friendly and accommodating. Unlike a few restaurants, staff explained the 18% service charge was the tip, which is more than fair. My problem was with the sirachi encrusted salmon I ordered. The salmon was regular farmed salmon cooked to well done. I couldn't taste the sirachi, I could cook a better dish at home, and easily beat the $32 price tag. read more

Went here last weekend with my grandmother and boyfriend. Everything looks great from the outside. Great atmosphere with a lovely view of the water. Extensive menu with some great options. Chicken sandwich was very good. However, I will most likely not return. I was absolutely horrified by the terrible service. Waitress was fine, hostess was abominable. She was rude from the second we walked in. My grandmother is 89 years old and has difficulty walking. We wanted to sit outside and I asked if there was a handicap entrance. She was snotty and unhelpful and ended in me explaining to her that stairs does not equate handicap accessible. We attempted to try it and ultimately decided we couldn't make it outside but when I told her she rolled her eyes and didn't respond. Led us to a table and just walked away. She didn't even wait for my grandmother to walk. Completely ruined my mood and experience and I don't care what the food is like if your employees are rude and hurtful to customers.
