Boater grill ERNESTO Went to boater grill today and at 6 was told it's an 1.5 hour wait. So we went to the CLEAT owned by the same people. At 635 got a text that my "table was almost ready" so went back. Ernesto the manager was awful and said the owner had "called everyone to cancel as they were now closed' " which was not true. I tried showing him the text and my phone log to prove it wasn't the case. He would t event listen or try to be the least bit accommodating. We will NEVER ago back to this shitty o read more

Boater's Grill - That the kitchen was always open - Seafood Near Me - Key Biscayne, Florida

Tourist trap sorry to say! We came via boat and were excited to try this place as it was right on the water. The service was very "confused". They kept moving our large group of 8 from one table to another. The food was more of a miss than a hit. Everything deep fried. The calamari was pretty perfect though, so appreciated that. The biggest disappointment was red snapper. We got 3 fried whole red snappers, for each adult couple to share. Our snapper was fried to the point where it was dried out completely through. There was absolutely no flesh left and it was oozing with oil. Quite disappointing to say the least. read more

We have been here over 100 times, it was 100%perfection for manny years.... but sadly everything in life changes.. Todays pasta Alfredo- very oily.. like dripping Today's palomilla steak, very soft and liquid like just no flavor... tried adding lemon but I think the meat was bad Today's shrimp scampi - seems the shrimp was cooked frozen, this morning, and left on the counter for hours.... shrimp fell apart in your mouth... like rotten... Today's fried fish was to die for..... awesome but even fried fish anywhere is great... it was hog fish All in all I will take my little boat up Miami River or even Bayside would be a better meal read more

The salmon was disgusting! It didn't taste like salmon at all! The mash potatoes tasteless and the maduros raw! Overall (0) cero stars! I don't recommend this place! read more

Boater's Grill - Salmon - Seafood Near Me - Key Biscayne, Florida

We came here for dinner after getting drinks at The Cleat bar a short walk away, and it was a great decision. The place served great food and service at very reasonable prices in a casual setting. We got the palomilla steak - well seasoned with a generous topping of onions - with a side of rice and beans and plantains, and the chicken breast with fries and salad. The food was great, service was attentive, and the view was incredible from our table. The restaurant is within the Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, and you do need to pay a nominal fee to enter the park. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the Miami area and looking for a place with an incredible view of the sunset and water around Key Biscayne. read more

We are here when we were out for a walk down to the lighthouse on the top of the island. It's the only restaurant and the only choice. We did see three live manatees in the water out in front of the restaurant. That was cool. But the service and the look on peoples faces who are serving you said "go away you're bothering us." " I hate my job!" "If I could tell you to get your food yourself I would. " read more

+1 star for location next to the water Calamari was soft and rubbery, and tarter sauce comes in packets, don't recommend. Whole hog fish (Large)- over-fried and dry, Moro rice was also too dry, we left and could finish anything. Too expensive and food is not worth it read more

We came to this restaurant for an early dinner as the taco place down the way was closed by the time we arrived. So, the view is spectacular. The service was kind. We started with the calamari and it tasted fresh. My niece said the hamburger was good. I tried her fries and they could have been a little bit crispier. I had the mussels and an espresso. Overall, I was pleased with the food and the service. I read the reviews and I disagree. This is a lovely little place to eat if you are in the park. read more

Boater's Grill has potential but I think it could do better. The location is very nice with a great water view from high up, however they could put in a better railing system because the railing is pretty high up and not see-through, so you feel like some of the view is blocked. The menu is a little strange for a lunch menu. The selection of appetizers is very nice, however I felt like there weren't a lot of lunch type items on the menu besides a burger. They should have a better selection of sandwiches like a turkey club and such. Most of the menu felt like it was a dinner menu to me. I ended up getting a burger which was cheap ($8) and definitely tasted cheap. Super underwhelming burger. I would much rather pay $10-12 for a quality burger. Their burger reminded me of a frozen patty you can buy at the supermarket. It's definitely worth a try. Maybe I'll come back for dinner sometime but overall the menu and burger were pretty disappointing for lunch. read more

The food was subpar, the fish was very very dry. The service was disappointing. We came I. And there was no hostess, I asked a waiter if we could sit, he ignored me and went off to continue working. Asked another waiter to eventually sit me. Once we were sat it took a while for a waiter to stop by and after all of that, the food was not good. There were 5 waiters standing around doing nothing and not one of them stopped by to check in. The only saving grace is the water view. read more

If you're looking for a great restaurant overlooking a marina or a bay or something with a view, you can definitely find other places in Miami that are better than this restaurant. It was such a disappointment. This restaurant is definitely a drive, it is literally at the end of Key Biscayne, and to enter the area you have to pay an $8 fee if you go before 5pm, I however wouldn't know if that applies for weekends as we went on a Monday. When we arrived, there was no one to greet us or take us to a table, there was a man that works there sitting at one of the tables smoking a cigar and pointed at a table for us to sit at. That was my first weird feeling of the place. Secondly, i can not speak for all the waiters, but with our waitress, we did not have a great experience, it took her around 10 minutes to find out if they had a straw for my drink or not, which they didn't, in the middle of a pandemic where it's not safe to be using glasses. And also we saw her by the register use a napkin inside her shirt to dry her breast due to the heat. Literally in front of a handful of tables. So disgusting! And we also did not see them disinfect the tables between customers. All they did was just clean the table with a wet rag and that's it. As for the food, we only ordered two appetizers and we were flying out of there! We ordered the shrimp and tostones and the conch fritters which both were okay, nothing exciting to be honest. I would most definitely not recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of great places in Miami with not only a nicer view but a much cleaner restaurant and better service. read more

Ok I absolutely love this place. The food is kickass and definitely a hidden gem. One issue: a server that is an older gentlemen that served us yesterday. I'll keep his name out of this for the record. He made a HUGE deal about putting ONE item on a separate bill saying "that will be an inconvenience" and when we asked him again he said' "no I'm not doing that, just pay all together". I understand this is annoying from someone who has worked in the service industry but that is your job. We weren't asking for you to perform receipt calculus, we were asking for ONE item to be placed on a separate bill. read more

Based on reviews it looks like this place may be a hit or miss. Lol. Well personally I've always had a great time there and last night was truly exceptional. We waited a good 20 mins to sit- but once we sat down the waiter took our order promptly. We had the seafood soup which was delicious- the calamari, the fried sardines, yuca frita, and the fried hogfish snapper... omg that was so so so good. If you want to go get some beers and some of their fresh fish and anything fried and aren't gonna be put off by the way the place is run- I think you will enjoy it. read more

This is the spot on Sunday! If your out on the boat just cruising or at the sandbar this spot is the lunch spot. You can't park your boat right in front of the restaurant or you can just go by car. This time around we got all me favorite and as usual they always kill it. The food, DELICIOUS and the staff are always incredibly. This time we missed Rolando, the best manager ever. For sides we had rice and beans, tostones and fried sweet plantains and of course we had sangria. We had so much fun that we ended up getting a champagne bottle :) and forgot to take more pictures but check out the ones I did get lol read more

Food truck review only - Food was delicious and service was great! A little pricey for the drinks, but overall had a great time. Ordered the salmon burger and fries and thought it was tasty. We came here at the recommendation of a friend. We were looking for a casual outdoor vibe near the water. That's about the only thing they got right at this place. The food is TERRIBLE- and I'm not picky. A native Miamian, I've had my fare share of fantastic Cuban and Dominican dishes and they managed to mess every dish we ordered up so bad that the only explanation is that they actually consider this 'good' by their standards and have no self awareness at how awful their food really is. Rice was still firm in the center and the black beans were flavorless. The burger was ordered well done but came undercooked. The cheese sticks were over cooked and the sangria was bitter. Go there for a spot near the water but just don't expect a delish meal and you'll be fine. we ate it because we were famished after an excessive wait and pleasant but long walk from lot A since the lot was full. I recommend just skipping this spot and heading to the Cleat nearby for a drink at sunset or going down to Blackpoint marina in Cutler Bay instead. Also, 12 dollars for 6 cheese sticks?.... C'mon man...every price was about $5 or more than it needs to be. read more

The pictures of the area and food on yelp all looked great, however.....got there and the menu was very VERY limited, primarily Cuban food (I would have expected more seafood, casual light fare) and in my opinion way overpriced. We ordered two appetizers and each had 2 beers...the check was $75 the server...omg the server....she was annoyed to even have to take our order and from what we could see just didn't take care of any of her tables (including ours). Love the park, really had high hopes here, but I wouldn't waste my money. read more

Our party of 6 had dinner here after watching a most amazing Sunset at the Cleat beach bar. The food was ok, my fried snapper pretty good. It was a wonderful evening with great service, until, I had to go to the bathroom. It seemed no one had cleaned it for weeks. No toilet paper. I asked a server for some and she handed me a few napkins. After spending over $300 on a meal, you would expect not just a clean bathroom but some toilet paper to go with it. read more

Unfortunately we looked at the website and not on here at the reviews and the website is definitely deceiving. For one, we ordered a pitcher of sangria and it was the size that two could share. Not more. It also tasted very watered down, was clearly straight from a bottle and not fresh or homemade and as a wine lover... it was disappointing. The food... the food had no flavor. French fries were cold, mashed potatoes tasted stale, Spanish rice had no flavor, "fresh" snapper tasted rubbery and had no seasoning... was not worth $30+ a plate. The smoked fish dip was okay however was probably 1/8 cup (not kidding). And over salad so the dip was lost in the spinach. For three of us, this meal should have been $20 total, not $100. Very frustrated. read more

The family stopped in for lunch and we all had a variety of dishes. I just partook of the appetizers, namely the Conch Fritters and the Cod Fritters, both were nicely prepared and presented. I just wish there was an option for a sauce or lemon to include with those items. The service was decent in that it was more than obvious that the regulars of this establishment got priority service compared to others. read more

Not recommended. The restaurant was supposed to close at 10pm. We got there at 8pm. They were already closed.

Any time going to a restaurant during this pandemic I go in with an open and understanding mind. Boater's Grill was a complete disappointment. After having biked 10 miles to get to here, we just wanted to test ourselves to appetizers to share among the of us. We ordered the smoked fish dip & fried calamari. The smoked fish dip came in a plastic dipping cup one of those you get for your ketchup. We all looked at each other shocked that this could be considered an appetizer to "share" this was hardly even enough for one person. The fried calamari followed and it was only a few pieces displayed on a plate and that was $13. We asked the waiter if the smoked fish dip usually came like this and he said, "of course, it's an appetizer." With our bill he graciously brought us out another "dip cup" of fish dip because he saw how disappointed we were. Two stars for the view. The food was tasteless, not filling and completely over priced. Four average shrimp on the $20 shrimp Caesar salad ?
