You forget about this place, you drive right past it on Bird Road. Maybe your going to Best Buy, Target, Publix. But im gonna remind you how great this joint is. The menu has everything - roe, sprats, oysters, scallops, shrimp& lobster, the fredhest mahi, snapper, ceviche...on and on. Rustic interior with booths and tables, nice decoration with Florida Keys touch "fish playing poker". Service is fast, friendly and spot on. Great beer n wine selection, cocktails. My kinda fish joint. You cant go wrong here.

Celebrated a family member's birthday last night at Cayo Esquivel. The restaurant was clean, and the servers were nice. I love the art on the walls in this place, it is so fun. The food was also very good. For appetizer I had the calamari, and for my meal I had the salmon with salad and black beans on the side. My husband has the Churrasco, I tried a bite of it and it was delicious. I enjoyed my meal, my only complaint would be that it took an awful long time to get the meal once I ordered, it also took a while to get drinks for the table. Overall good experience, 4/5.

If you're looking for a dining experience that transports you straight to the Florida Keys, this might be the one. Our ceviche was fresh, and had the perfect flavor. The ambiance complements the menu and the place feels as you've stepped into a charming seaside eatery, with warm decor and inviting vibes. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. Overall, we had a great time at this establishment.

I usually love Cayo Esquivel; however, this time around I found the food and service lacking. The appetizers we ordered were fried calamari and huevas which were good. I ordered a Parrillada de Mariscos and found the food dry. In addition, the food took a long time to arrive. The atmosphere was great, the restaurant was clean and well decorated. At the end the staff sang Happy Birthday with my dessert, which was very nice.

Fun, affordable and quaint vibes. Great affordable casual seafood restaurant it appears a little run down in the front with no signage not sure if they are working on it? Great customer service inside and this restaurant offers a wide selection of seafood to choose from. The wine selection is decent and the music they play could use a tune up. Otherwise a good spot for seafood

It's been a long time since we had been here , it looked the same inside yes a bit out dated, it's got that 1770 ship era look inside plenty of sitting with a large counter and booths sand tables .Good parking I recommend to stick to the fish dishes they are Good sized portions and taste fresh at a reasonable price .We tried the soup of the day it was alright for entry we had , tuna wasabi, the fried fish chunks, the fried calamari , the fried king fish all the fish tasted fresh, the chunks of fish were fried perfectly they were a bit under seasoned so was the king fish the tuna we asked medium well it was undercooked almost raw and needed a lot more seasoning but tasted good .We opted to go double salads the only downside was the lettuce and tomato onion salad it was ok it just needed something more our . Great service she was friendly and attentive .

This food was amazing! And not because I'm pregnant it was so delicious and you can taste the freshness. Our server was courteous and attentive couldn't have asked for anything better. The environment was during lunch time so it was chill and not too loud. This establishment has been here for more than 30 years and you can tell the quality is here! Recommend in the Hialeah gardens area don't sleep!

But the real deal is where you buy what you want and decide how they will cook it for you. Theres a limited number of tables outside for eating, but BYOB and bring your friends so they can lay claim to one of them. We ordered three pounds of shrimp fried and let me tell you the breading HITS. Most are fried with the skin on and honestly the seasoning makes you want to eat it that way too. A side salad, side of tostones, french fries, and an order of conch fritters to add. The side salad wasnt totally fresh (could pass...BYOSalad too), the fries were what you expect, tostones were over pressed but i like them in any format and were a perfect side to the camarones fritos. The conch fritters were extra crisp...pretty good flavor but felt a bit overcooked. Go, get things fried, squeeze the lime and pack it away. Bring the extra goodies to beber and come back again for the fix. The best part of fishing without the fishing.

Nothing like enjoying my bday weekend with friends at my fave live jazz bar in this area of Miami!…read moreWe called in on Saturday night and got a nice comfy half booth in the live music room right away. The room is so cool, staff is relaxed, cool and inviting. Tonight Ollie is onstage playing guitar, singing and taking all our favorite requests! We all sing along and have a great night of good food, good music, good drinks and great company of other live music enthusiasts! They have a fresh fish case stocked with great stuff including stone crab--The food is terrific! From my favorite raw bar starters, fish soup, sushi, whole fish, protein bowls, steak/chicken, kids choices, and the like. Menu is huge, something for everyone. The complimentary starter is fish dip and saltines. It Definitely sets the fish house mood! I love the decor--so jazzy, so mardi gras, so eclectic kitsch. It's just a relaxed fun time right on Miller Drive. Feels almost like a speakeasy! Aahhh, Miami--so chock full of these little unsung spots that you must be a local to know the secrets! All the fun is inside here. Check it out, it's all good at the Fish House. Thanks for following me, happy 2026! ~Tami in Miami

Lobster bisque on point, can eat a 5 gallon bucket of this easily. My wife had the fried shrimp with parsley potatoes. Tasty and enjoyable. I had the shrimp linguini covered in Parmesan sauce. Ate every bit of it even though I should of taken half home. Definitely recommend going for Happy Hour and save half the cost of dinner menu. Almost forgot Cuban Mojito to finish off the meal. Parking is either street parking, valet or there are parking garages within walking distance. We opted for the parking garages as it was a beautiful night. Same reason we also opted for a table outside. Great spot to enjoy your meal but also people watch as you have a good amount of foot traffic on the mile. As it was our first time trying Ecuadorian food we had many questions and our server was great. He was patient and answered everything. We started with the Jipijapa Style ceviche, the Carapacho Croquetas and an order of Boloncitos. The ceviche was super fresh and had a good amount and variety of seafood. I will say that this is not your typical ceviche as it had a nutty maybe even slight peanut butter flavor in the sauce. So it is not your traditional but I was not complaining. It was really good and very refreshing. My tip would be to eat it straight out of the bowl with a spoon. That was you can get a good amount of that delicious sauce. The Carapacho Croquetas were probably the star of the night. The combo of Crab and sweet plantains was phenomenal. The breading was also perfectly crispy but not greasy over over fried at all. I would keep going back for these over and over again. It's a must. The Boloncitos, I wasn't a fan off. It was like a fried ball of Morongo or smashed green plantains. It needed a sauce or something else to break the denseness of the bite. For entrees, we went with the risotto with seabass which was the Catch of the Day and the Signature Cazuela. Both were really good. The risotto was again delicious and the seabass was perfectly cooked. The Cazuela had a beautiful presentation. Both the shrimp and fish again were cooked to perfection. The plaintain and peanut sauce made for great combo. Rounding it all off with a cold Ecuadorian beer called Club Verde. Truly a gem of a restaurant and my first endeavor into Ecuadorian cuisine was a success thanks to La Pata Gorda. Looking forward to coming back and trying more stuff on their menu.
