You forget about this place, you drive right past it on Bird Road. Maybe your going to Best Buy, Target, Publix. But im gonna remind you how great this joint is. The menu has everything - roe, sprats, oysters, scallops, shrimp& lobster, the fredhest mahi, snapper, ceviche...on and on. Rustic interior with booths and tables, nice decoration with Florida Keys touch "fish playing poker". Service is fast, friendly and spot on. Great beer n wine selection, cocktails. My kinda fish joint. You cant go wrong here.

Celebrated a family member's birthday last night at Cayo Esquivel. The restaurant was clean, and the servers were nice. I love the art on the walls in this place, it is so fun. The food was also very good. For appetizer I had the calamari, and for my meal I had the salmon with salad and black beans on the side. My husband has the Churrasco, I tried a bite of it and it was delicious. I enjoyed my meal, my only complaint would be that it took an awful long time to get the meal once I ordered, it also took a while to get drinks for the table. Overall good experience, 4/5.

If you're looking for a dining experience that transports you straight to the Florida Keys, this might be the one. Our ceviche was fresh, and had the perfect flavor. The ambiance complements the menu and the place feels as you've stepped into a charming seaside eatery, with warm decor and inviting vibes. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. Overall, we had a great time at this establishment.

Fun, affordable and quaint vibes. Great affordable casual seafood restaurant it appears a little run down in the front with no signage not sure if they are working on it? Great customer service inside and this restaurant offers a wide selection of seafood to choose from. The wine selection is decent and the music they play could use a tune up. Otherwise a good spot for seafood

I usually love Cayo Esquivel; however, this time around I found the food and service lacking. The appetizers we ordered were fried calamari and huevas which were good. I ordered a Parrillada de Mariscos and found the food dry. In addition, the food took a long time to arrive. The atmosphere was great, the restaurant was clean and well decorated. At the end the staff sang Happy Birthday with my dessert, which was very nice.

It's been a long time since we had been here , it looked the same inside yes a bit out dated, it's got that 1770 ship era look inside plenty of sitting with a large counter and booths sand tables .Good parking I recommend to stick to the fish dishes they are Good sized portions and taste fresh at a reasonable price .We tried the soup of the day it was alright for entry we had , tuna wasabi, the fried fish chunks, the fried calamari , the fried king fish all the fish tasted fresh, the chunks of fish were fried perfectly they were a bit under seasoned so was the king fish the tuna we asked medium well it was undercooked almost raw and needed a lot more seasoning but tasted good .We opted to go double salads the only downside was the lettuce and tomato onion salad it was ok it just needed something more our . Great service she was friendly and attentive .

This food was amazing! And not because I'm pregnant it was so delicious and you can taste the freshness. Our server was courteous and attentive couldn't have asked for anything better. The environment was during lunch time so it was chill and not too loud. This establishment has been here for more than 30 years and you can tell the quality is here! Recommend in the Hialeah gardens area don't sleep!

If so, I…read morewould have come at a time where I was hungry and for a mere five dollars had them prepare my meal for me. But that being said, I found it to be a very nice fish market. Now there is a huge downside that you immediately encounter when you arrive. The parking lot is exceptionally small and people are parked every which way, except in the spaces. Getting to the actual building will take some time. The neighboring lots have pretty clear signs that they will tell you if you park there. So you're stuck dealing with what it is. The fish variety is good, although not great. If you're looking for strictly local fish, you'll probably find what you want. Several varieties of snapper and the fish looked wonderful and fresh. Some of my favorites like hogfish and grouper. You can buy the whole fish and they'll fillet it for you or you can buy fillets if they have them of the fish that you want. But the part I missed is having them cook it for me. Now that is something I would like to try next time The downside is they strictly local fish. You won't find any flatfish and I was surprised that they did not have any U4 or U6 shrimp which I like to use to make paella. In addition, I did not see fresh scallops. They did have some nice lobster tails although I did not see other shellfish. Some people have said the prices are reasonable; I found them about 20 to 30% higher than other fish markets I visit. The people here are really nice in the market is attractive. I will be back as I said to get a meal cooked for me in part because it is closer than the fish markets I usually visit and also my curiosity after reading other reviews. I recommend this market if you have the patience to wait for a parking space. If you're looking for the larger shrimp for paella look elsewhere

Nothing like enjoying my bday weekend with friends at my fave live jazz bar in this area of Miami!…read moreWe called in on Saturday night and got a nice comfy half booth in the live music room right away. The room is so cool, staff is relaxed, cool and inviting. Tonight Ollie is onstage playing guitar, singing and taking all our favorite requests! We all sing along and have a great night of good food, good music, good drinks and great company of other live music enthusiasts! They have a fresh fish case stocked with great stuff including stone crab--The food is terrific! From my favorite raw bar starters, fish soup, sushi, whole fish, protein bowls, steak/chicken, kids choices, and the like. Menu is huge, something for everyone. The complimentary starter is fish dip and saltines. It Definitely sets the fish house mood! I love the decor--so jazzy, so mardi gras, so eclectic kitsch. It's just a relaxed fun time right on Miller Drive. Feels almost like a speakeasy! Aahhh, Miami--so chock full of these little unsung spots that you must be a local to know the secrets! All the fun is inside here. Check it out, it's all good at the Fish House. Thanks for following me, happy 2026! ~Tami in Miami

Nice and rustic ambiance, definitely seafood related decor. Welcomed to the table with crackers and seafood dip. I could eat a tub of the dip! Ordered two Margaritas for $6 each which were excellent in regular good size mug. Service was very good team effort. Appetizer was conch fritters, rather small, but tasty with dipping sauce. Lobster bisque on point, can eat a 5 gallon bucket of this easily. My wife had the fried shrimp with parsley potatoes. Tasty and enjoyable. I had the shrimp linguini covered in Parmesan sauce. We grabbed seats at the bar around 2 p.m., because yes... there's almost always a line. That's just how it is here. It wasn't going to be a long wait but we always prefer laid back bar seating for lunch. They've expanded over the years to keep up with the crowds, and the fresh seafood display by the door lets you know exactly what they're so special for. Let's start with the fish croquetas because they're in a league of their own. Hands down the best in Miami. We also ordered cod fritters, and every bite tasted incredibly fresh. Before the entree, they bring out a small cup of soup, either fish or lobster bisque, just enough to warm you up before the main event. I went with Creole shrimp, and opted for salad and fried sweet plantains, while hubby ordered fried fish chunks with white rice and black beans. And let's be clear... you can't leave a Cuban restaurant without ordering black beans. There's something about theirs that tastes like they've been simmering in someone's vieja (that's grandmother) kitchen all day. Pure comfort feels. One thing I really appreciate is the portion sizes. They're generous without being over the top, so you leave satisfied instead of needing a nap in the parking lot. And of course, there's only one proper way to end meals like this: flan and a Cuban espresso. If you're visiting Miami, this is one of those places you simply have to experience.

The only negative is the parking, very close tight spaces in a narrow strip mall area. But once you park its perfect. This is definitely a local Miami spot. Next was the shrimp ceviche, which was different from the lighter versions I usually have since this one had more of an orange colored sauce, but the flavor was still very much there, super good! Then I tried the encebollado, a true Ecuadorian staple, and it was delicious as well. Lastly, I had the seco de chivo. It was okay, not the best I've had, but definitely not the worst either.
