The location of this joint is 5 stars alone, but after a summer renovation this place is finally starting to hum. The menu was overhauled and everything being pumped out of that kitchen has been delicious. As you can see, there are a lot of mixed reviews about this establishment. The food is good, the service is not. Their staff is poorly trained, they do not wear any kind of PPE, not even the kind that is STANDARD in restaurants ALL the time! They do not wear gloves or hairnets when making your food. Waitstaff is clueless or absent 90% of the time while kitchen staff brings you your food. I have been there three times, and only once when everything went as it should. The other two were really bad, and not a comp'd bill to be found. The food is on the pricier side if you have a good experience and extremely expensive if you factor in poor service. None of these reviews or experiences have been addressed by the establishment -- the owner/manager truly does not care if you're receiving poor service. I wish I could go there again, because their shrimp tacos are good, but I will warn anyone against going here until there are certain leadership actions taken. read more

Very, very overrated restaurant. A local we met recommended it as the best place in town (?) We went about 7 pm on a Wednesday night. It was packed and very noisy. We were lucky to get seated, as the people behind us were turned away because they had so few wait staff. The fish and chips were just "OK," and some of the vinegar they served us was NOT malt vinegar, as we had asked for. The seafood chowder was the biggest disappointment: lots of thick, creamy stuff with a couple shrimp, tiny, tiny scallops, and lots and lots of potatoes. Very bland. The best thing about the place was the lake view and the eagle who perched on the breakwater during our meal. At 8:15, the place had emptied out so very few were there, but a couple were turned away, even though closing time was supposedly 9. They were justifiably furious, and said they would never be back. This place Formerly the dockside bar witch was fun but a real dump has been sold and re molded looks allot cleaner service was OK nothing great waitress seemed new so we let it slide food was good fair priced beer was cold live music on Sat. Was disappointed in the food. The steak was over cooked and over priced. You would think for $30 they would include a salad and rolls/bread with it. Mine came with french fries and a quarter piece of burned corn on the cob. We also ordered the garlic shrimp appetizer that tasted like old shrimp and had very little flavor. Don't ask for extra sauce, you'll get it 7 min later. Service was a little bit slow. And they weren't busy. I know it's the "off" season for this place, so maybe we will try again in the summer. The food was very good. However, they forgot my Fiancée's food twice, then apologized and said they would take it off the bill. She asked for it to be boxed while we waited, but eneded up eating it since our bill took awhile to get to us. We were then told they could only take half price off because my Fiancee ate her food while we were still there. Finally, when thw bill came, they charged us full price and there was no change made to the bill. I understand mistakes happen, but continuing to change how you will charge us, then make no effort at all in the end is a load of crap. The food? It's ok. The beer list? Ok. I don't go to the Boardwalk Grill for just those things, though. Every single time I am in Celina I stop for one thing... the experience. We've always gotten great service, and you cannot beat that view. Immediately I feel like I'm on vacation in the middle of Ohio. Worst dining experience of my life...if I could give negative stars I would. The tacos were burnt to a crisp and my boyfriend's $11 catfish entree was 3 nugget size pieces of catfish and 2 hush puppies. When we asked the server about it she mumbled something about how she wasn't in charge of the portion sizes and people "don't usually complain" never offering to get a manager involved. Another table was sat and never helped by a server...they finally got up and walked out after at least 15 minutes of waiting. Walking back to the bathroom and seeing a small glimpse of the kitchen it was dirty and disgusting. We will never be back. Eat here at your own risk!! read more

Staff was friendly and service was what you would expect for a full house on Sunday afternoon. Atmosphere is relaxing. Food is above average. This is not your typical deep fried bar fare. Shrimp Tacos are definitely a must try. read more

Looking forward to checking this place out again. It is under new management. 3 Owners back I was a constant patron for the food. They made a mean Gumbo and great sandwiches. I tried them out after the 2nd owner purchased it and quickly left. I hear that under the new owner ( 3rd ) thing really improved. My friends had a sandwich with cheese on it ,Saturday the 25 of August . She said the sandwich did not taste good. They took it home thinking it was her that day . best location in this small town full of nothing this is what you'd think the best option to be right? No. this restaurant does not use gloves when making food. they completely do not care about sanitation and customer safety. this is the one restaurant i've been to since this whole pandemic started and they somehow don't have to wear masks? none of the employee's wear a mask. The servers do not wear their hair tied back so double check to make sure your food is hairless. they ober serve everyone here. they constantly have party buses and things like that and i've literally witness 2 people in a hour time frame crack their head open and everyone in the restaurant just sat back and laugh. I don't know about you but i wanna eat somewhere where they actually care about your experience and how you feel walking out the door but in this scenario that's not even close to the case. i notice that the owner walks around and talks to each table and then he would disappear and go to what it looked to be the basement. when he would come back up the stairs he seemed completely out of it everytime like he didn't know where he was at. We went to dinner at Boardwalk this evening. They were not busy so we thought it was our lucky day! We were happy to see Jerk Chicken on the menu. The original owners had wonderful jerk chicken. The menu had no descriptions at all. My husband and I both ordered this. We received a small thigh and leg with a large portion of sticky, sweet rice. We also received a portion of bland beans. There was no salt or pepper or sauce of any sort on the table. My daughter ordered a taco salad that consisted of more chips than salad. Needless to say we were very disappointed. read more

Took a bike ride down by the lake stopped at boardwalk pretty simple ordered 3 burgers 1 med well and 2 medium waited 32 minutes got up found the waitress she said they are coming up we're next after serving people that had come after us their food, we finally got our burgers burnt and dry, waitress was doing the best she could with what she was working with.
