The food is pretty good. Service and vibe are great as well. The outdoor and indoor seating is really cute. My only complaint is when asking for modifications, the server informed me that "chef" does not take modifications lightly, unless it was a critical allergy. I would definitely come here again, just would have to keep the comment regarding "chef" in mind.

What a hidden gem! Like seriously hidden. I would have never known the restaurant is there. Board & Batten was suggested for our foodie friend dinner by Scarlett M. Great choice! I had it on my list, but it's not in an area I usually go to. It's tucked away in commercial/ industry area around other businesses. Pretty well hidden. You would have to know its location to drive back there. Once you drive into the parking lot, you see all the trees and the white brick building. The interior and outdoor patio is a beautiful space and we opted to sit out there during some nice weather. For a Tuesday night it was surprisingly full, we had a reservation for 6:30 pm and were sat right on time. The service of everyone we interacted with was great. Our server was friendly and did a great job explaining the menu and making suggestions. We ended up splitting a few dishes- the burrata appetizer, octopus picatta piccante, scallop spaghetti, and roasted airline chicken breast with risotto. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The cocktails were also well balanced and very enjoyable. All in all, glad we ventured out to that area of Mesa to enjoy a lovely dinner!

Sweet place and felt like a fairy tale walking in. Adorable. GF birthday meal for 4. We shared the wrapped dates appetizer as well as the lemon Caesar salad. Both exquisite. We all selected pastas but several mains were ordered by nearby tables with delight. Loved my meal. Sampled some of the others as well. We ordered 4 desserts and all shared as well. Very good value. Cooler temps will draw me back to dine outside. Looked amazing. Local is the gig here. Small batch. Refined. Good.

I can't say enough good things about this place. An exceptional menu that changes seasonally. Very fresh and creative. We tried a couple appetizers and 3 entrees, and a couple sides and everything was spectacular. As far as service they are top notch here as well. Great service at the bar and our waiter was as good as the get. Couldn't be happier with the experience. Lastly, the ambiance is perfect for date night. Seating both inside and on an amazing patio area. This is a new go to restaurant for us.

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!! We live this place, which is probably the nicest restaurant in Mesa. There is patio seating in front like with string lights. There are fire tables surrounded by sofas for cooler weather. Inside is lovely, with a bar, tables and banqettes, and lounging area with velvet upholstered chairs. The servers here are professional and attentive, but also warm and friendly. The menu changes often, has this common with most Chef driven restaurants. I have never had anything but fantastic food here. This evening we were treated to Champagne, then ordered a BB Martini and a small bottle of Vietta Moscato d'Asti, my favorite. We started with the Rustic Tomato Braised Meatballs, served with particular and grilled bread. It was absolutely delicious. Hubby ended up ordering a sausage rigatoni which was on the specials menu. I got the Duric Pork Chop with bacon polenta abd peperonata. It was amazing!!! We were too full for dessert, but we've had dessert here before and it is amazing. The salted caramel bar and the flourless chocolate cake are to die for. This is the perfect date night spot in Mesa. We will continue to come back again and again because it is one of our absolute favorite places.

This is such a wonderful restaurant! So beautiful and tucked away in north Mesa. This is the perfect time to utilize the patio. Me and my friend ordered the burrata appetizer the dinner special spaghetti and scallops, the octopus, and the dinner special chicken. Everything was so good and fresh. I love the farm to table concept and sourcing with local vendors. This is truly such a lovely meal, so glad to have finally tried this place.

We returned to experience dinner on the patio. It was a hot evening but it was shaded by the trees and the misters were on. It had been a while since we had eaten here. Thought the food had improved and was very tasty. Our server James was excellent and added to the positive experience. I would have given 5 stars but the mains came out before we were completely finished with the appetizers. Don't enjoy being rushed.

Been coming here for years. The menu changes seasonally, but especially in this part of town, B&B is consistently excellent. I always appreciate the care and attention that is given to both the menu and the customers. Ambiance is also excellent.

We are in town for a work trip and this place was nearby and we wanted to check it out. They had great menu items as well as some off menu choices. I opted for the simple salad and the soup of the day which was creamy mushroom. The soup was so creamy and so good. The simple salad was ok but maybe not 10 dollars ok. In hindsight maybe trying the pear salad would have been the better choice. Either way the service was great. The restaurant was super clean and offered indoor and outdoor seating. Great cocktail and wine selection. Definitely need to check it out if you are this way.

You can only book two weeks in advance online?

Do you recommend / do they take reservations for social hr?

    I believe so.

Do they have a kids menu?

No, they don't have a specific kids menu. But a couple of their shared plates might be ok for kids depending on the age. It's more of an adult place, though.

Do you use MSG (aka yeast extract) in your dishes or any vendor products that contain MSG or yeast extract?

    No, we do not.

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

    Yes they are!

We sat at the bar and our bartender, Angie was so clever by tempting us with dessert before we even got our meals. She was a highly attentive and very engaging. Much to our dismay, the restaurant was closed to focus on catering. Luckily, though, It reopens for pop-ups. This morning I saw an Instagram post announcing that there would be a brunch pop up today, so we got up and got ready to go. It really is tucked away in the corner of plaza and goodbye Safeway. Inside is a small dining room with a bar, and through the rolling doors is a patio with outdoor seating. You can see the kitchen through the plexiglass divider, and there is bar seating along the divider so you can watch the cooking. There's a great, colorful mural on one wall and some fun lighting fixtures and art. Today's pop up was packed when we arrived. We grabbed the last two chairs which were on the bar overlooking the kitchen. The menu had seven choices. Of course we ordered two different things so we could share, but we skipped cocktails. We ordered: *Steak chilaquiles Christmas style (both red and green chile) served with a side of beans and talked with an egg *Green chili pork hash served with a side of beans talked with an egg Both were delicious! We both ordered scrambled eggs, and I'm pretty sure it was more than an egg. I'm not sure how they cook those eggs but they were the best ever. The pinto beans had green chili in it and was so good. I'm from New Mexico, and these tasted like the beans that you rarely find outside of New Mexico. The steak on my chilaquiles was really good - - thin sliced and tender. I was able to easily cut it with just a butter knife. The pork in the hash was so yummy. What are scrumptious brunch! It was nice to sit overlooking the kitchen, as it was quite a show to watch the chef. I was amazed at how over easy eggs were tossed and caught in the pan without the yolks breaking. Heck, I can't even flip eggs with a spatula without breaking the yolk! Anytime I've overlooked a chef cooking, I'm totally in awe of their amazing skills, and this was no different. I really recommend Tucked Away, just as I did when it was a regular restaurant. Follow them on Instagram to be alerted to pop ups. You won't regret it!

If you establish a presence here, they will take care of you. Consistency is another major selling point. Go here 10 times, and your food is going to be on point about 9.5 of those times. Those are pretty good odds. They have just recently started a soft launch of their fall/winter menu, which means they are experimenting with a few new dishes while bringing back some old favorites. One of those returning favorites is the crispy cauliflower. Last time around, it was fantastic. This time, while still tasty, it had apparently filed a formal complaint against the word "crispy" because there was very little evidence to support the claim. Even the bartender agreed with me that it was somewhat misrepresented. Tip: Get the sauce on the side. It will help preserve what level of crisp that is intended for this dish. Now, let us move on to the star of the evening. The new chicken parmigiana! Holy mother of God. Butter my butt and call me a biscuit. This may genuinely be one of the most beautiful, perfectly textured, and downright delicious chicken parmigianas I have ever had. The chicken was crisped to absolute perfection, and the way they layered the marinara on top was brilliant. Rather than drowning the chicken in a traditional, liquidy sauce, they used more of a bruschetta-style topping, which gave it texture while somehow allowing the breading to remain gloriously crispy. Hands down, one of the best chicken parmigianas I have ever had. Now we just need to pray to whatever culinary deity is responsible for consistency that they can replicate this thing every time, because this one was ridiculously good. One final recommendation: split the dish.Unless you are the kind of person who considers a family-size portion a light snack, there is plenty of food here for two.

The meat was flavorful and sliced perfectly while the bread was toasty enough to stay together long enough to hold in all that juiciness. Our server was attentive and friendly and I'll happily go back to try some menu staples ... unless the next special demands my attention like that Reuben did.
