I kindheartedly give my highest recommendation to Distinct Electric. I have worked with Dustin for…read moreover a decade as he struggled under the restrictive trades laws in Oregon when it comes to growing his business and mentoring his apprentices. Please support his growing business. His team is not only technically competent in current and best codes for all types of projects, but they are curious and not afraid of a challenge doing things a little different. We had him do numerous jobs over years on a rental property turned back into our house. The latest is the installation of a German engineered on demand electric water heater in a difficult existing condition. Any new water heater would have been a challenge. He gave us an excellent value and allowed us to work with our plumber and we supplied the appliance. A year later, my husband now takes baths everyday with it. He loves it and our warranty is the highest of any products on the market. Resiliency is sustainability so all this work will last us a lot of use for another decade at least and contributes less green house gas and waste when it comes time to replace the unit. The electrical work and now spa steam tub has increased our safety and value of our largest asset. On Mar 20, 2024 Thanks Dustin and crew Inspector is gone and is doing that paperwork. He said, so that's how they did that, and also great work and very clean. He said he hasn't seen many and I told him I hope to start a trend. Thanks Again! The unit we installed and the amperage we had you do is great. We can't tell any difference from the old 50 gal holding hot water energy hog we had before! It's so quiet and clean, no clicks or humms etc. We're very happy you would work with our plumber, too. Take care and we will keep in touch, LEED®AP ID+C Corvallis Oregon

Rob took the time before the service to discuss what we knew about the problem we were having, and came equipped with several parts options. I trusted him and told him let's install it and go from there. To our surprise everything worked out the way it was. I will be referring him to friends and family who need electrical work done.

It's basically a cliche at his point but this is really a zero star review…read more This company really has no idea what it's doing. The estimating system (a simple and non-sensical excel document made by someone with little grasp of the trade) has been out of date for at least a half century. No one in the industry works this way for good reason. I have no faith in their ability to price things correctly in such a rudimentary and disorganized way. You'll be given a task with a due date. Guess what, that date will move without you knowing because the only way you'll find out is an email every 2 days with the new dates. Think you were on schedule? Think again. You just magically became late! They implemented a policy that you had to have your detailed scope submitted a full three days before your estimate. Which is absurd because guess how you get that information? Yeah, by doing the estimate. They decided to make this change during one of the busiest weeks which instantly flagged us to managment as "Late" for these projects, but only because they were applying a new policy retroactively. They said don't worry about it, but like on other occasions, that was simply a lie. The managment of this company is really lacking. Half the people I spoke with had no clear understanding of who they reported to. You get half information from questionable sources and all along you're assured that everything is fine. If you're looking for a job or a competant contractor, there are plenty of professional and capable options out there. This isn't one of them.

The man that your company sent to service my furnace tried to kiss me when he was leaving my home…read more He was not successful because I stepped back, gave him a dirty look, and asked what he was doing. He then muttered something about "Shooting His Shot with Me". This happened Nov.1, 2023. I mulled over this situation the past few weeks, and decided this was my best course of action for the time being. As a single woman who lives alone in Portland it's important to hire a company that is very clear on how they expect their employees to conduct themselves with clients. This was very scary for me because he has my address now, and I'm afraid of retaliation from reporting the incident because they will know it was me, and where I I live.....unless they are doing this regularly to other women, too. Please, educate you employees on the importance of appropriate conduct, sexual harassment, and what the consequences of their actions are. I'm a survivor of past assault, and this affected me very deeply because this happened IN MY HOME. I should be able to trust your company to vet, and educate it's employees of the importance of these kind of issues. After I move I will feel more comfortable giving more specific information about the incident, and the employee. I will say that it happened in Portland Nov.1, 2023. Please, talk to all of your employee, and make sure they are clear on what sexual misconduct, and a harassment are. Thank you

I reached out through Yelp for estimates to replace the panel in my house and install a car…read morecharger. Scott quoted me 600-1500, and asked to come out the next day, not even looking at where I lived on a map. I couldn't do the next day and requested the following week, and he asked to come over the weekend. Then he increased his estimate by more than double, and made it sound like he was giving me a deal when he shaved a couple hundred off. After a lot of back and forth, he ended up saying he was coming and then not showing up just about 5 days in a row after realizing I lived further away than he thought and making excuse after excuse . He'd say he was coming, and text me 10 minutes before he said he'd be at my house telling me it wasn't happening, like I hadn't rearranged my entire day expecting him. To top all of this off, today I had to file a dispute against him with my credit card, because he's as of yet refused to refund me the $750 deposit he made me give him. He pushed me repeatedly to pay him via venmo or cash and now I'm SO happy I didn't because you can't dispute those payment methods. In the end, I got a different company to do the work for $2000, a full grand less than Scott quoted and it was done cleanly, quickly, and without issue. I would be extremely wary of hiring this company, they do not have it together.
