The house I bought came with a tiny panel that was already overloaded. When we were looking into adding central AC, we knew a panel upgrade would be needed. I am not happy with my experience. My job was not a priority to them so they came when they could to complete some electrical work at my home. I met with Ron. He told me they would charge 95 dollars an hour. By the time I asked for my bill it was over four thousand dollars. Over 700 dollars for wired and boxes..and miscellaneous items...just weird some items on the bill I purchased. Also charged me 95 dollars per person 2 people I had no input in who they would be sending...I feel that they got paid twice as much as they earned. read more

Just had them out to replace a panel and wire up the garage for future needs. Amazing work and took the time to get everything right. Spent times on the bends for the conduit to follow the house line perfect, clean professional installation and even helped out on spur the moment needs. Have mixed feelings about this company. Overall, they present well, are very polite, on time, clean, knowledgeabl, etc. Prices are about the same as others. Not much extra markup on parts that I've noticed. These guys have been around a long time and "know" how to do quality work. Thing is, just because they "know" how, doesn't mean that they "will". Here are a few examples... I've asked specifically to separate 3 rooms that were on 1 circuit - the electrician doing the work insisted that they looked and it can NOT be done without a major rewiring project - I then climbed into the crawlspace myself and took a video showing that 3 rooms could be disconnected very easily, just by changing a couple wires in existing junction boxes, which they've accomplished in minimal time after that. While they've failed to separate the circuits as described above or replace the longest run of the outdated old wiring, they sure did all new wires and junction boxes for the long-gone floor heaters - they knew what the circuits were (not) being used for - and still chose to replace all 6 of them with all new parts and charged for labor. While installing outside security lights, they've drilled holes and passed the wire from attic - into the living room - then to outside. So there was yellow romex showing in 3 rooms' ceiling corners. And it was left like that when they were done without any mention. It's impossible that they did not notice. They were just hoping that we don't say nothing before cutting them a check. They came back and fixed the issue when we insisted, but the holes are still there after 3 weeks, still waiting for their repair person to get to them. Their main task was to replace the breaker panel, which they ordered with not enough spaces, therefore having to use outdated tandems and combine circuits. I've specified what exactly I wanted in a new panel and I did not initially get it. I had to do some research to prove to them that a panel I've requested exists and is easily obtainable. They claim to specialize in Siemens panels and yet are clueless about the best recommendations provided by Siemens for whole-house surge protectors. I was able to get that info in one simple phone call. After that, I've insisted that the panel is replaced with a bigger one and configured differently, as per spec provided by Siemens Tech Support. It took a second visit and another wasted day off work to replace the panel one more again. Received a credit for the prior panel and work, which was cool, but they still found a way to charge several more hours of labor. There were a couple of minor code violations that went un-noticed by the inspector because he trusts this company and only briefly checks their work in easy-to-access places. I will fix those issues myself, at this point, to bring it all up to code. It will be much simpler to do it myself at this point. Their pricing is about the same as others, 95/hr for journeyman plus 95/hr for apprentice, the apprentice is the one who usually climbs into attics and crawlspaces to do wiring there. Overall, the bill was slightly higher than quoted, but reasonable, although had to request a detailed invoice and address a couple of questionable items. Again, these guys are (semi) professionals that have been around the block (in Salem) a few times, they know how to play this game. They are polite, they are on time, they clean up their work mess. They were recommended by others also. They most definitely are qualified and capable of doing quality work. It's just getting them to do it... read more

we had them do some work for us, they have an amazing master electrician on staff honestly, scott is a great guy, hardworking knowledgeable everything, the problem is the owner is a very greedy man who doesn't care about people. he did some work for us at a commercial building, told me he had pulled a permit for it, but actually never did. he charged me for the permit on the bill. 6 months later i find out there was no permit asked him to take care of it and he double billed me for it and took so long to get it done i just hired a different electrician to come out and get the permit. rods not a bad guy as much as a guy who loves money. your best bet is just hiring cherry city, honest to god professionals who don't mess around with billing and are always proper. if scott ran his own electrical service operation id recommend him with 5 stars though, he probably honestly should just start up his own operation too, because right now he's just splitting the money for the hard work he does with rod for no reason. read more
