Jacuzzi white spotting - damage - it looks worse than before we replastered it.
Christina H.

We had our pool replastered by BND Pools five years ago, and from the start, we noticed white etching and spotting. Over the years the issues have gotten significantly worse. They advised that our water was too "Active" and that was the cause of the white stains. My husband, who is pool certified, tests our pool water every week and Leslie's Pool checks it twice a year. We felt that their explanation was just an excuse to avoid taking responsibility for the poor work. Now, exactly five years later, we drained the pool to change the water out and can clearly see the extent of the damage. According to information we found online, white spots in a replastered pool are typically caused by improper plastering techniques. This may include adding too much calcium chloride to the plaster mix, applying too much water during troweling, late hard troweling, or using a wet trowel. These issues can lead to porosity in the plaster, allowing calcium salts to leach out and create visible white spots, also known as "spot etching." YouTube said many companies tell their customers it's due to active water as there is no way to prove and it's an easy out for them. So that Warranty they promise isn't worth anything!! Unfortunately, we now have to pay out of pocket to have the pool redone. It's incredibly disappointing that a company with such a long history in Las Vegas would treat its customers this way. They should take responsibility for their mistakes instead of passing the blame.

BND is a great pool company. We are very please with the plaster and new tile in our pool. Our salesman Mike was great. Upfront and transparent about all the things we needed to make our pool summer ready. The BND guys who came to chip out, tile and plaster our pool were courteous and professional. They cleaned up every bit of mess and left our backyard looking great. I would highly recommend this company.

You CANNOT go wrong with BND Pool Plastering. I mean it. For real. My pool was looking really rough and after a major life event, I decided that I was going to renovate it. Everyone at BND made sure that I got exactly what I wanted in the pool while letting me know of any foreseeable potential issues. For instance, I wanted the pool water to be the deepest darkest blue I could get. Michael showed me all of the options and then gave me his recommendation knowing the water quality in Las Vegas. His expertise saved me from making a very expensive mistake. I would also like to add that the entire company was responsive to every question and concern I had even when I called Michael on a Friday night when he was out of town with family. I cannot recommend BND enough. They are an amazing company and they care about their customers.

Post plaster

We had a great experience, many times we had to be flexible and they were always willing to work with us and our renovation schedule. Great finished product!

BND was selected by my pool contractor to complete the plastering of my pool. The work was completed in June 2021 and the company has failed to communicate with my mine and my contractor's attempts to remedy the issues. Overall, the plaster job performed appears to be very poor given that the coloring is discolored/mottled throughout the pool and there are abundant craze cracks throughout the wetdeck area. I will let the images speak for themselves of the quality of work you can expect if you utilize this company. In combination with the work performed and lack of response, I could not recommend this company.

This is my spa after 3 years.

I resurfaced my pool in 2019 and now I have spots all over my pool. I called BND last year to have them fix my pool and their mistakes they made plastering my pool, instead they told me that my water was acidic. I told the owner that was ridiculous, I tested the water my self and then double checked it at Leslie's the water wasn't acidic at all. Then he tells me to watch a you tube that said water acidity maybe the cause for spots but in the same clip it says that contractors also need to take responsibility for using lousy materials. This is there way of avoiding their responsibility to fix my pool. I purchased the five year warranty, and paid for the stronger quartz plastering and they refuse to honor my contract...More to come. If you want your pool to crack call BND.

My pool has never looked better. Michaels expert knowledge kept me from making costly decisions that I would have regreted. Their team of workers were kind and considerate. They ripped out the old plaster and left the back yard cleaner than when they arrived. They let me install my own water line tiles so I could afford the higher quality plaster with the 4 year warranty. Michael the supervisor, inspected the tear out, the patch repairs my tile removal and istalation. He made sure I knew what the best morter and grout to use for the tiles. More than happy to help me save a little money here and there so I could get the quartz plaster. So glad went with BnD pool plastering. Be sure to ask for Michael, he knows his stuff.

Here is one of the texts to the BND employee (her number above) while getting the run around. She asked for more photos, so I sent them.

This is in response to Jay's reply: I kept the original contract and all the texts with your office and printed them out. I am well within the warranty period. I'm also following up today with the contractor's board to be sure that they investigate the workmanship. I'm not sure what the process is that you used but the plaster installation is obviously wrong and BND obviously doesn't stand behind it's work. A representative from BND came out to inspect the plaster in the summer of 2020 and said that they will repair in the fall of 2020. After that I just got the run around. You might have not seen the pool or the photos but your office has (see attached with Jay's signature, no less) and they stated that you personally didn't and won't approve the repair. Thank you.

A shout out to Caesar! He keeps my pool looking fresh and clean! I would 100% recommend this…read morecompany to take care of your pool!

To be fair, part of this 2-star review has to do with a restoration of a fountain that this company…read moredid, which turned out worse than before they started. And it cost us $1900, and our fountain now has big smears of white caulk, which I am currently looking at from my front window. I had been assured that the pump motor had been installed in such a way that it could be cleaned and serviced. Imagine my surprise when I got into the box and discovered that the inlet and outlet had been glued in place with pipe cement, preventing any access to the pump. I had to cut the two pipes out with a hacksaw just to clean the water passages. And please look at the supporting photos, which include a shot of the nightmare inside the fountain foundation. A mess of pinched and collapsed plastic fittings, held together with electrical tape, which surprisingly isn't really meant to be underwater. It took me all afternoon to undo the damage and prepare for a real fountain repair company to do things right. Maybe don't have them work on your fountain. Anyway, pool cleaning. So, multiple times, we had to ask somebody to return and do a better job, after discovering a lot of dirt still left on the bottom and stairs. On one of these occasions, whoever came back to improve things decided that the stairs looked fine with all the dirt still left on them. And on other days, it would be fine. The weekly chemical report often had wildly inaccurate readings. More than once I had to ask things like, "Did you really put 17 gallons of chlorine in?" "Oh, there's a glitch in the software program..." (I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea). So, who knows what other inaccuracies were in the chemical report? It's not to be trusted if it's having a "software glitch." Enjoy these pictures of the fountain caulk and the dirt on the pool steps - and this was after somebody came out and made a second try. This is a pretty new company, and maybe they just need some flight time to get the bugs worked out. Also, maybe they shouldn't claim to be able to work on fountains. If you want a solid, consistent pool service, these guys are not there yet.
