This review is a reflection of the overall experience from the first point of contact. I'm also not sure why Yelp has two separate pages for the Jaguar and Land Rover stores as they are the same so this review will be posted on both pages. I live in Los Angeles and was looking for a very specific preowned car and found it at the Jaguar Land Rover store in Solon, Ohio. I put in a request and Weston Wilson reached out to me. He clearly understood that I was a car guy as I had him go through the car meticulously. He even took the time to FaceTime me so that I can "see" the vehicle. He was quick to respond to emails and text messages despite our time zone difference. Fast forward 2 weeks and I was on a plane to Ohio. Weston picked me up from the airport and took me to the dealer. The car was prepped and ready for me. Ryan in the finance office was very professional and had documents were ready for me to sign and I was done with the entire transaction in less than 20 minutes. Weston also sent me off with plenty of sodas and water for my 2300 miles drive back to Los Angeles. Thanks again Weston and Ryan!!

The service manager Scott Straffen is rude…read moreand lacks compassion, there service team is also horrible with keeping clients in the loop of things and not very honest when it comes to business dealings they over charged me for labor according to my warranty department and so I had to pay more than my deductible to fix my car. I dealt with James McConnell for the most part he was just doing his job or should I say just enough, don't ask him or anyone there to go the extra mile it just won't happen. I had a situation where a part was no longer being manufactured by Jaguar Corp (not the customers fault) my warranty covered the part however the part was no longer available because the manufacture stopped producing it, instead of being upfront an honest from the beginning they had me to believe that the part itself was on back order and on it's way which was NOT the case I was in limbo for 4 weeks before i actually knew what was going on. I had to call another Jaguar dealership to even find out what the real situation was. I did not have a vehicle for 3 months, and they refused to provide a loaner vehicle and suggested that i go back to the place i purchase the car from, whoever heard of such a thing, because I did not purchase my Jaguar from their dealership they said they could not provide me a loaner. I would not use this dealer if they were the last dealer in town. I would sale my car first.

    After dealing with this dealership over a 2 month period to get the info that I was promised…read moreseveral times. They finally got me the info videos of the underside of the car which I feel for the vintage of the car (a 2006 Honda odyssey ex) was warranted before traveling 5 hours to see it in person. after it had been listed for 2 months with no pics and or price I got the videos and price so decided to see it in person. I did also ask multiple questions about condition I asked about oil leaks ,air conditioner , many points of the car that where in my mind skimmed over that should have been disclosed in the manner of courtesy to me with them knowing I was traveling 5 hours to see the Van. One very obvious thing was the fact that the windshield was damaged and the damage was in the line of vision which made it a necessity to replace it to pass inspection. When I took the vehicle for a pre purchase inspection the mechanic found a large oil leak in the engine the 2 front struts where leaking as well as one rear shock. the bottom bracket on one of the struts was bent from bottoming out and would need to be replaced there was evidence of the mud skirts in the front having scraped so I specifically asked to have the dealership look for any metal damage under the skirt before coming to see it and they saw none , rear tail light was damaged an would not pass inspection, no mention of this to me . The air conditioner compressor was leaking and would need replacing. I was also promised that I would get in writing a guarantee that the timing belt water pump and tensioner which they said they replaced would get me to my mechanic back home 5hours away to verify the job.when I asked about this before I test drove it . the person that I was given the guarantee by gave me an attitude such that I was being ridiculous about it .Lots of other issues with this dealer ship.! I passed on the vehicle .I would avoid them and look elsewhere. I know they will come back on this review with some smart excuses and blame me . But do you trust a dealership that would send you out on a test ride for a pre purchase and they did not know if the spare tire was good on the car. Until I asked !!!

    I wanted to share a positive personal experience we had with the Midas in Solon, Ohio. We had been…read morethere a couple of times to fix our Honda Civic in the past 6-9 months. The first time my muffler went out and they were able to get me in and help the very day after it happened. Several months later, as I started my car and began to drive to work, it began making funny noises. I didn't even call, just drove straight to Midas. No appointment, but they were understanding and willing to take a look at it while I left and went to work for the day. Again, they were able to fix it by the end of the next day (there was a leak in the power steering). Both fixes were minimal, painless, and very reasonably priced. They were quick, kind, and knowledgeable. As if this wasn't enough to make me want to come back...fast forward to a couple of weeks ago. On my way to work, my car (a manual), suddenly would not go into gear as I tried to shift. I coasted into a parking lot, called roadside assistance, and again made a call to Midas explaining my situation. My biggest fear was confirmed just under an hour after the car was towed to Midas...the clutch had given up and would need to be replaced. This was a 2007 Honda Civic with the original clutch (yes...Hondas are wonderful and the original clutch lasted 13 years!). Because the cost was going to be about what the car was worth even with a working clutch, we needed some time to think about our options. We had been debating getting a new car for some time so that thought came into play. Midas didn't have to be kind and give us time to think. They could have said, "not our problem, have your car towed somewhere else, we don't want it here." Instead, Kyle at Midas WAS kind and did give us the time we needed to make the best decision for us. I kept in contact each day to let him know what we were thinking our plans would be and each time he said, "it's okay, just let us know what you end up deciding." In the end we did end up getting a new vehicle and sold the Civic to a company that would come and tow it away. When we went to clean it out and spoke to Kyle once more his exact words were, "we are in the business, not just to make money, but to make sure that each customer is doing the best and right thing for them at the time. We support you as our customer and if this was the best thing for you then we are happy we were able to help in making that decision a little easier with not having to worry about what to do with the Civic in the mean time." Bottom line: Kyle and the team in Solon Ohio truly care about their customers. And as much as we don't necessarily want to see them often because that would mean something is wrong with one of our vehicles, you can guarantee that if something does happen, Midas in Solon will be our very first call/visit to figure out what is going on. I called the store and employe Amos Moore answered the phone. I informed Mr. Moore of the two items I was seeking. I also explained that I was handicap and parked at the front door of the store. Within minutes, he came out, assessed my needs by looking under the hood of my car and at my rear lights. He went back in the store, looked up the items came out with them and told me how much it would be. I gave him the cash and I was short $.11. I started to scrounge around in my console to look for the $.11. When I turned around, I was going to tell him I'll just give him an extra dollar, but he was not standing at my car door. He had gone to his car to retrieve the $.11. for me. Amos Moore went above and beyond the call of duty to assist me. He treated me like a friend or a family member and this means the world to me. He was professional, kind, and caring. Please know that he is a valuable employee and should be treated as such. I followed up with a call to district manager, Vanessa Mason. Ms. Mason took the time to hear about my experience at the Solon Store and expressed how happy she was to hear of the service that Mr. Moore provided. Vanessa Mason's expertise and knowledge as a district manager will ensure continued success to your corporation. I will inform all my friends and family members to drive past an Auto Zone store and find the nearest Advanced Auto Parts store because the service is outstanding.
